Wrong destination tag entered to deposit funds

Hello guys,

I'm a strong supporter of Ripple and I made a big and stupid mistake transferring some XRP from Bitstamp to kraken, in fact don't know how, I entered a wrong destination tag (6212881) for my kraken account (instead of 2222567543) and I really hope my funds are not lost.

Anyone had a similar experience? Do you think my funds are lost of there is even a single possibility to have them back?

I've already opened a support tickets both on kraken and bitstamp but any additional help or information is really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Contact their support, there's nothing technical about this. This is an issue with their support team(s), not the blockchain.

Do you think the funds are still stuck on bitstamp or transferred on kraken somewhere?

Tip for when you are sending money in the future, start with a small amount this way you know the adress is right or not without losing a ton of money.

I did, and then I copied the wallet address in the destination field too.. Damn

Generally when people have sent funds and even forgotten to put any destination tag/ID the funds have arrived at the receiving exchange ‘group wallet’  in your case...Kraken. check the transaction through Bithomp to see if it arrived at the main address. Then you will know to target your enquiry to Kracken.

I don’t know, but there might also the possibility that the wrong destination tag/ID that you put in matches someone else’s wallet on Kraken. In which case....probs no chance of return

Is it possible to understand if given the destination tag that I entered the funds are in the main kraken account of in a private one?

I don’t know....check the Kraken wallet address here https://bithomp.com/ press Ripple explorer and type in the address you sent the xrp to...I imagine it will have a fairly large balance if it is the Kraken group wallet.

Yes the address has over 600 mln of XRP but I don't know if my single transaction is counted in this amount or not
