This has gone on long enough! I do not understand why this keeps happening over and over, Something is fishy with Bittrex! They have soo many wallets from all type of shady coins. They are hungry for $$$$ and charge .25% for every transaction! They dont give a dam who they add. As soon as I get a chance im taking everything off of there. I do not trust them. Bitstamp is where ima try for the short term. Then I will divert it all to a paper wallet for the long term. And keep my secret key written on my dam Fridge!  F&CK BITTREX!

Check Gif below- XRP holders on the left, Bittrex on the right.

Amd ofcourse they still let people do trades while the wallet is offline, so they can keep collecting the coin that ur buying. I feel that oneday they will run off with everything.

Wooo Hooo I'm not the only one! sheesh I thought it was just me.

Yes trading is OK but I've noticed that when a coin goes hard in either direction Bitrrex takes the Wallet offline. Probably so they can arbitrage (not sure how that would work) or something. No doubt there's a sneaky scheme....wish coinbase would take ripple.

Bitstamp is a no go - submitted docs 4 days ago and no response and also read eastern European exchanges may be coming under fire.

Looks like the Ledger Nano S I just received will be put to use 'cause Bittrex is acting waaaaay to shady. That is of course if the wallet ever comes back online. Uuuughhhh - Now I gotta figure out where to keep the Nano without losing it.

Sorry if I am a newb/dumb. But what would a major exchange need to take down access to a crypto wallet for "maintenance"??? Especially for HOURS

I can't think of anything but I am fairly new to crypto.

Glad I moved my coins of Bittrex a couple weeks ago.

I understand all things need maintenance, and that "maintenance" is different for everything.

But what would require a specific wallet to be offline while others are not. And what would take hours to "maintain"?

I am computer illiterate besides being able to use a computer and the internet, help me understand?

I can only assume they are some how adjusting their systems for the incoming volume of people buying in the next 72 hours. However considering they are allowing to trade with other coins in the meantime is pretty shady. They are hoarding all the XRP for the time being, and that in itself is very profitable if it were all to go *poof* I have been contemplating selling it all to another coin and send that coin to another exchange and hopefully exchange/withdraw my XRP.
