Popular Post zenkert
I read it and read it and read AND read it . . . and I have not found any "X" in it yet . . . A lot of "R" though and some "P". Edited December 10, 2017 by zenkert 7strings, galgitron, manoleft and 18 others 2 18
Toroth
I get where the OP is coming from but this has nothing to do with XRP being added. If I'm not mistaken, the LTC addition was announced prior to it actually being added to Coinbase GreyAndroidGravy
EnchanterIO
As a developer I can tell you, the only thing it means, is what they wrote. IS SO MUCH EASIER and more secure to perform an update (especially a DB) one when you don't have millions of request flying in every second. Guys seriously stop miss interpreting things that are not even a bit related RLP18PharmD, DtotheK, goldstar111 and 2 others 4

EDIT: Again I could be wrong, but I distinctly remember reading about it prior to it going through and thinking "eh it won't do much to the price". I remember my screw-ups very well. GreyAndroidGravy
I read that only as them preparing for the mass sell off/and or buy ins that will happen because of the futures markets opening. I see nothing about XRP or Ripple. They'll see the light soon enough, just not tomorrow night. CryptoCody

That would be ideal for Ripple because GDAX likely has professional market-makers on its trading platform - just what XRP needs. Anyway, here are the criteria used by GDAX as a guideline for listing coins on its platform: https://www.gdax.com/static/digital-asset-framework-2017-11.pdf GDAX doesn't adhere to these criteria strictly, they have said. We have the following categories for cosideration: -open financial system (OFS) -security and code (S&C) -team (T) -governance (G) -scalability (S) GDAX tends to list the most popular coins, but I don't know if they prioritize by volume or by marketcap. So, we have the following... By volume in descending order: Bitcoin Cash IOTA Ethereum Classic Ripple Bitcoin Gold By marketcap in descending order: Bitcoin Cash IOTA Ripple Dash Bitcoin Gold Taking the union of these two groups under consideration for listing on GDAX, we have the following: OFS S&C T G S Bitcoin Cash ? ? ? ? ? IOTA ? ? ? ? ? Ripple ? ? ? ? ? Dash ? ? ? ? ? Bitcoin Gold ? ? ? ? ? Ethereum Classic ? ? ? ? ? Now, if someone could just replace the 'question marks' above with Y (Yes) and N (No). There is no guarantee that Coinbase will choose one or more from among the list above to be among the next coin(s) listed on GDAX/Coinbase, but I think they have better chances to be listed than those not on the list. Only time will tell. I could fill out the list, but I'm too tired right now...and some thought and research has to be given to each parameter and coin to answer correctly. Guest
Yes I was reading on reddit that Coinbase plans to implement XRP to deal with the availability issues. Due to unprecedented demand Coinbase has been unable to handle the volume of traffic from new users, it has been decided that the best solution to this is to add Cryptos most despised currency in the hope that this will help drive down traffic and disincentives new users from signing up. Yup...Coinbase added bitcoin cash which appears as number one rank in each of the top 5 in list in previous post of mine both by marketcap and by volume Sure, Ripple could pay Coinbase an extra million or two in listing fees, certainly more than their competitors because of Ripple's $15B war chest, but in the long run, ripple's volume, liquidity, and lack of support from general crypto community likely doesn't look as attractive financially from an exchange perspective as other top cryptos when I made these lists.
