Wish it was that easy all i want to do is buy! Now i either gotta get a new bank acc or get set up with another exchange. But then who knows if fargo will donthe same thing again, might have to do both

Yeah! What a pain! What Fargo in fact is saying is that a Bank in Slovenia is not a Bank.

Fargo says they dont support transactions to slovenia ?

I ran into the same issue when I started using Bitstamp.  To cut down on headaches just buy at Coinbase and send BTC or ETH to Bitstamp and do a currency swap.

I used Chase bank to transfer to Bitstamp. It required a wire transfer to some bank in Slovenia. lol...

Now that I actually know what I'm doing, and I advise you do the same, purchase bitcoin on Coinbase, and withdraw it to Bitstamp.

Skip the whole Slovenian bank transfer part --

Gatehub also uses a Slovenian bank, they charge about $28 per transaction so best to save up and do as much as you can per TX but Ive never had a problem.

Looks like i just need a different bank acc read on reddit people havin problems with fargo and coinbase too...

That might be a good alternate approach, since at some point maybe you need to send fiat to the bank and that might prove to be even more hassle if just sending money to Slovenia is impossible (which btw is a fully EU member country). As a suggestion, when you open the account ask twice (or better yet two different reps ... maybe even call before :D )  how international transfers work, if they have countries not supported, any "travel protection" on their debit / credit cards, fees ... etc. :)

Well dang that was easy, signed up and bought with my card in less than 10min on coinbase... same card that wont work with bitstamp.... ive come to the conclusion that bitstamp screwed it up with the card ive seen lots of reports online of people having the same problem with cards ever since bitstamp switched processors.

and i talked to everybody/slash company involved with my card and theres nothing wrong theres not even any transactions showing ever being attempted by bitstamp. Fargo still blocked my wire tho.

coinbase was super easy so far. :yahoo:

When depositing into Bitstamp with a U.S. credit card, beware: your bank may treat the transaction as a "cash obligation," which normally incurs an immediate, large interest charge. This, at least, is what my bank told me.

Yea i read about, think that just applys to cc not debit, doesn’t matter for me anyways cause bitstamp keeps declining my card....

Yes, that is true and important, because when I deposited funds into my Bitstamp account using a debit card, no extraordinary interest fee applied.

For members of our forum who are unfamiliar with Bitstamp's depositing scheme, the above distinction between credit card and debit card deposits may not be immediately clear, because both kinds of deposits are performed within the exchange's "credit card" category.

Incidentally, I am a new member of this forum. Allow me to thank everyone for the highly resourceful and engaging discussion here. And for the virtual camaraderie.

Just got this from bitstamp for anybody havin the same problem...

“Support agent commented:

Dear .....

thank you for your reply.

Please note that your payments have been declined as follows: "Transaction rejected because cardholder authentication unavailable"

Kindly note that you should be enrolled in the 3DSecure program, as it seems you are correct and your card should be enrolled in the "verified by visa" program.

I hope this helps solve the issue.

Should you need anything else, we remain available.

Best regards,

Bitstamp Support”

"Credit card purchases will be unavailable until further notice. We are working to restore this service as quickly as possible. Please stay tuned for any updates. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding."
