jd2424
So this page shows stats on Ripple. If you scroll down, you'll see the "Total XRP Distributed." I started keeping track of this recently. I dont have screenshots, but I show that XRP distributed has actually decreased between November 5th and November 12th. Was this just bad data or is their something else going on here? Nov 5: 38,622,892,459 Nov 12: 38,622,870,
corak
I don't know why, I will only say such decreases happened a few times before in the past as well. Maybe someone from Ripple can shed a little light on this
Guest
It's only about 22,000 XRP so I'd say it is the amount burned in that period.

Guest
Interesting. That would be a rough burn rate of 2.5 per minute over those days. What I saw this morning was a burn rate of around 6 per minute, so it may have increased? This doesn't take into account the variation that must occur throughout the day, though. Nov 5: 38,622,892,459 Nov 12: 38,622,870,411 After every XRP transaction (buy, sell, transfer) a fraction of a penny (10 xrp drops right now, i think) of xrp is destroyed. Since there has been higher transaction volume in XRP since the AMEX news, more XRP is being destroyed. Since the price of XRP is so low right now, the destruction rate is noticeable. As the value of XRP increases, a fraction of a penny of XRP will be smaller and the destruction will be less noticeable. For example, if the destruction rate at $0.25/xrp is 10 drops, if the price increases to $0.50 the destruction rate will drop to like 8 drops. (this example is just hypothetical). cryptoxrp
Javim777
Total distributed includes futures deals aswell. Sometimes if the deal breaks they usually withdraw it from the circulating supply.
jd2424
Do we know if these numbers reflect the XRP that Ripple as a company has sold into the market via the third party algo for that time period? I'd guess no.
