I am losing my faith in Ripple because of what I've just seen online

If you read some of my previous posts in this forum you saw that I very much like faucet websites, and there aren't many Ripple faucet websites out there. Whilst I get some small amount of Bitcoin every week from Faucets through referring other people - I tried the following Ripple faucet for quite a long time - RippleFaucet.info - and today when I came to check my account balance I saw the following notification - I am not going to go through the whole lot (you can see it if you wish to down below) but this is the part that makes me mostly concerned with Ripple:

In closing, Ripple's strong arm tactics through the use of legal teams, against this and other small websites seeking to promote the Ripple financial ecosystem, reflects poorly on Ripple Labs and suggests that they are no different from the big banks they serve. You have been warned...

So let me get it straight - Ripple Labs - the giant company - is chasing small websites for trademark infringement - is it really what's on their mind?

The reason I mention it is because 48 hours from now this website is probably going to become a ghost website and no one is going to be able to express their opinion about it because no one would know it even happened except for the website owner and the faucet users who are probably going to remain silent but I'm not ... for me this is a huge issue - I mean - look at Bitcoin - it's skyrocketing over $7,000 because it's a FREE CRYPTO CURRENCY, no one from the "Bitcoin movement" is going to shut down Bitcoin related websites - and this is a DOT INFO domain ... I mean I agree trademark infringement is a violation and of course if Coca Cola wishes to shut down a CocaColaBig.com website they can do it - but what about some common sense?!?!

When you drive on the road - the sign says 60 MPH and you drive 67 MPH - would you expect a police officer to stop you for that?! NO !!! Why?! Because it's freaking common sense - if he would then everyone would be a criminal ... of course if you drive 80 MPH or more then that's crossing a red line already - but Ripple Labs - why not use some Common Sense?!?! Why are you chasing small website owners? Really ... all you have in mind is trademark infringement? Yes I totally agree with this website owner whom I don't know and never met but he's right saying this is definitely 100% REFLECTS POORLY ON RIPPLE LABS AND SUGGESTS THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT FROM THE BIG BANKS THEY SERVE.

Lastly,

I've gone to the new site this person created - and here he says the following:

What is XRP?

XRP is the ticker symbol of a cryptocurrency which cannot be named due to legal reasons.
XRP is run by people who apparently spend far too much on ****** law firms. Unfortunately it is a case of 'love the currency, hate the company'.
You are unlikely to ever get rich on XRP, as this is a currency by the rich for the rich (i.e. bankers). If you truly want to support innovative cryptocurrencies, we recommend looking into community backed, open source projects such as Monero and Elastic.

So what's my opinion about all this?

It changes lots of perspective I had for Ripple and especially for the XRP ... I do hold lots of XRP but I'm losing my faith with this company - Crypto Currencies are about a new revolution - the reason why Bitcoin is skyrocketing is because the FIAT system has lost all credibility ... I was hoping Ripple was a combination of both ... and I do believe in obeying rules and doing what's right but I'm also a firm believe in COMMON SENSE and what's Ripple is doing for itself is creating a bad credibility .... would you bank with a bank that gives you hard time, asking for Photo ID every 3 months for "verification purposes"? No, right? Even if the bank is legally allowed to do so ... it's a common sense to avoid such a bank.

And Ripple is going in that direction ... I mean shutting down small websites - that's what they have in mind?!

I'm shocked and I'm not sure what to do with the Ripple balance I was HODLing for so long ... but in my opinion if this is the direction of Ripple then I'm out ... this is just a small thing for some of you but it's a big red flag for me, and that's a red flag, however you want to look at it!

I agree with every single word he said - yes, it does change my perspective about this project - I saw online after searching that Ripple sued Kefi Labs in 2015 for trademark infringement, a law suit for $2 million dollars. The Ripple price has only gone up since 2015 but the lawsuit against Kefi Labs was justified and that's like driving 90 MPH on a 60 MPH zone.

But going after Small Website Owners - what's on their mind?

Yes, it is by the rich and for the rich ... reminds me of those days I learned about in history where the landlords in England and Europe told the peasants what to do - and it all boiled up until the peasants made a great revolution against them (e.g. the French Revolution) ... why should I take part of this? This is going to be a sinking ship .... Bitcoin in comparison offers all the freedom people are looking for - you don't see it?!

What freedom?

The freedom to price gauge anyone who hasn't got into it until 2013? Do you even have a clue how top heavy BTC is distributed? it's insane. What does BTC even do except put BTC payments on a global ledger and burn as much electricity as a medium-sized country? I wish I was joking about that last part.

What's funny is he'll get the same letter for using XRP as well as his brand name.

I agree with you to a certain point, but the downside here is that about let's call it a conservative 50% of scam sites use Ripple's brand to try and rip off the community.

So sure, this sucks, but hey, it weirdly helps protect the community too.

Sell your xrp, if you ever had any, and move on then.

i literally can't agree with a single point in your post.

For starters why the hell would Ripple a registered, respected and mainstream company not protect their trademark? Go make a website called Ethfoundationfaucet, same thing happens.   Any trademark is going to be protected by it's owners.

forget the fact that you are complaining about not getting something for free, something that costs only 15p btw. Thats stupid enough.

But your reasoning throughout smacks of the same old tired FUD.

btc costs 7k each but it is free right? Or you meant free as in anyone can use it? So who stopped you using xrp? You do realise  brc price depends entirely on  big rich whales and large mining cartels? Have you even read anything about what Ripple is trying to do?

I actually can't believe you are here complaining that some spammy, pop up ridden affiliate ponzi has been shut down for using Ripples name.

i don't believ you hold a single xrp and if you are okd enough to drive ill eat my shoe. A police officer will deffo stop you going at 67 in a 60

I am not the one who's going into the site hour after hour clicking my way to get some peanuts money, I sign up, grab the referral link, and share it with other people who have the time for it, then I get a referral commission out of it - is it going to pay my rent? No ... but it does give me around $100/week, so I don't complain and I don't try to brag about it - but for me faucets are source of a very small income, and shutting down the site is not something I'm going to mourn about, or lose my mind - I'm talking about the action itself, about being over-enforcing... trademark needs to be protected but I see tons of trademark infringements on the web and no one gives a damn about them because really - it's common sense to leave it alone.

Now if you don't believe me I hold around $10k worth of Ripple then I'm not going to convince you and it's not an investment of the sort I can't sleep because of what I saw today - I'm just saying my perspective about the company has changed, drastically.

PS Faucet websites are not all scams, some can be, but some can be a nice source of very small income - some like it and some don't care about it, but please don't say all faucet sites are scams because that's just false.

And lastly - stopping you for 67 on a 60 zone is being a **** ... you can do it but luckily most people in this world don't try to enforce rules to the letter because if they would - then the world would be in a very bad shape.

EDIT: So the GIF won't work, FML.

Yeah, if that's how you feel and see things, I agree with some here that it would be best for YOU to just move on. If you're that mad, angry or however, just sell and forget about Ripple.

p.s. I advise you to at least don't sell the XRP, but only forget about it. You'll thank me later (read: 0.5-5y)

EDIT: I have no idea what faucets are, but just call it cryptofaucet, perhaps then it can go on?

I'm just worried about the company being too bully ... a bullying company is a company I find hard to trust. It seems like most forum members don't see this as 'bullying' but rather as doing what's right ... perhaps ..
