RecentChange
I have setup a cold wallet on an offline ubuntu machine. Its working well, but I am looking to fix the final part of the puzzle which is the QR Code. I would to install QR Code generating software but its seems most ubuntu software is installed via the software center. I have been trying to download the software on another computer but it seems like there's dependencies that need to be installed. I tried installing the dependencies but it seems never ending. I have tried to install qrencode and zint, but haven't succeeded any suggestions? other than connecting to the software center which defeats the purpose of the cold wallet. RecentChange
Solved. I loaded Firefox on my ubuntu and used an add-on for the QR code generator. Tried binz.io to decipher the QR code but got an error : Missing command But I used an another QR reader on my phone and was able to convert to text, emailed it and then onto my warm wallet and submit the transaction from my warm wallet. Thanks very much for your path finding here SJ... I think a cold wallet that generates trans turning them into QR codes is a fantastic addition to the offline wallet. A truly air-gapped solution. It makes your cold wallet especially useful for those times when you need to pay or gift someone. With the Firefox though.... I'm assuming on my offline Windows PC I won't have Firefox installed, so it's one more time of transferring a exe. But if I recall add ons, you need the thing online to add them on? Or did you download a QR add on then USB it over to the offline PC? Thanks for any info and for proving the concept works.... you've done a great service I think. I added about 10 of them tried each one. Finally settled on one of them. Some of them didn't like the length of the transaction text that rippex wallet. generates. To download the add-on right-click on the install add on button and save the file to the USB. Then once you have installed Firefox on your cold wallet, just double click the file or drop it on Firefox and it will be installed on there. Guest
Dude... you are the man! I have now successfully sent two transactions out of my cold wallet using the QR Code displayed on the offline PC screen. It got a bit complicated actually dealing with the signed transaction because of various factors peculiar to my own setup... but in essence it's a easy air-gapped way to send trans from an offline wallet. I love it... thanks for trailblazing @strikerjax and for inspiring me to look at it all again. Now if only @ToastWallet or @pftq 's TheWorldExchange.net would read and submit QR code transactions.... we would have a great easy system in place. But even as it stands it's definitely the best way to use the cold wallet. Very very pleased and grateful to you.
RecentChange
We are all in this together. Glad you could get it working. Have you checked out binz.io? It reads the QR code directly into the xrp ledger. But I couldnt get it working. I think the site's creator is on here. We could get him to figure why it doesn't work in certain cases

To be honest the QR on the offline PC screen looks way hectic... a lot denser than url type ones... So I was uncertain if it would work but it did.
