Also regarding the Thai-Japan corridor, the question from the audience was about the "sandbox" comment from Siam Bank guy. He said that they are still using the shared ledgers for their solution and is not yet using the full RippleNet Solution, and they are just thinking how to scale this up as they want to go into new corridors (he mentioned Germany i.e.) and they want to soon make a full-scale up (so for all corridors of the bank). So this sounds quite interesting and positive.

Strategy from Santander guy mentioned 3 solutions they have (2 are used, 3rd is the idea later on)

Solution Nr.1 --> Santander using Earthport as 3rd party (UK to Spain)

Solution Nr.2 --> Santander using partner Bank

Solution Nr.3 --> Ankle banks (as even banks like Santander is not connected to every bank), so there should be some banks which act as lets say knots for certain corridors as even the big banks like Santander will never have connections to all banks globally (as he said)

He also mentioned that clearing companies will have a big role in this new technology.

Dilip Rao also mentioned something interesting that it will also happen (or may already?) that Central Banks sponsoring blockchain/payment projects for a cluster of banks as there will be a lot of individual banks will not go alone for those technologies but rather clusters of banks like in Japan will do an effort together and directly connect themselves together.

Also mentioned is that one of the biggest issues is liquidity and that the model needs to change from corridor to corridor but more to a big pool of liquidity (size, scale and reach). Ripple is well placed (regarding Santander guy) but they need to work on this regard with priority.

Siam guy says technology wise they are very positive, but also liquidity and network challenges are the most pressing ones (so more liquidity and more banks in the network).
