Wow @Twarden thanks for going the extra mile!

By the way I should mention that this intermediary step of first transferring money to hosted wallet and then to your bank is only temporary. We are already testing direct Ripple to Bank payments which will make everything much easier.

Stay tuned!

Would be great if GateHub's bank is on RCL so users with accounts with one of 10 RCL-integrated banks can deposit or withdraw and settle within 3.5s... that'd be a huge advantage of using Gatehub...

I believe that's something we're heading to here in Europe with the new PSD2 directive.

This would be an awesome step.

Is PSD2 inherently good for Ripple or is it actually at odds? Seems like they're interested in achieving SEPA payment speeds to cross-border settlement as well...

I think yes for the FX component. With payment services easy connecting bankaccounts they might be very well charmed by RCL for the currency conversions. Imagine liquid markets on every (or a lot of) XRP/fiat pairs, a merchant can easy and cheap sell all over the world in its own currency while his clients can do the buying in their local currency. While most FX markets today are only open to or controlled by the banking sector, RCL/ILP, being open to all, will become in reach for all payment processors. Free to use, accessible to all, and probably at the very most competitive FX rates... what more can they want?

  • 5 months later...

I recently confirmed my gatehub account so I could withdraw fiat to my SEPA bank account. Just to try and make sure my account information was correct I sended (7 days ago) a payment of the minimal amount of 11 euro and received it a day later. But when I sended (5 days go) 700 euro I haven't received it yet.

Is there a possibility that my money is lost?

Thats concerning. Bcz if ripple withdrawal takes this much time it defeats the purpose  of buying ripple.

I dont like the way gatehub works. So slow in one of  their main jobs such as deposits and payments. Even if its resolved after msg to Enej, why does normal transaction of $700 requires special measures such as contacting director. What if the wothdrawal is $70k...?  How long would that take..?  These  things decide organisation's goodwill and ability to gain trust.

@gatehub @enej Can you please give an answer for withdrawal? Is there limit at withdrawal? And can we have liked Coinbase's bank transfer for US customers? Which doesn't charge any fees for deposit and withdraw at bank.
