Malloy
This is too important...so I create a new thread. You can check the discussion about TokyoJPY global freeze and all of us locked out of our JPY IOUs. What's Ripple responsability in this. Well...if they promote the creation of GateWays...offers name in some almost official list like at RippleChart Quote Featured Gateways TokyoJPY Contact support@ripple.com about becoming a featured gateway. https://xrpcharts.ripple.com/#/manage-gateway ...we trust the fact that those GateWays will not take our money then freeze our accounts. Even if legally Ripple has no official responsabilities...the appearance of default will sink any attempt to promote the existing GateWays..even more try to add new ones to the network. Why would I take any chances to trade on those exchanges? October 15th new launch is very close (edit: might not be a new gateway that date but my point stays the same for any new ones coming)...I expect Ripple to come up with some hint of a solution before that for us TokyoJPY hostage to make sure their big announcement is not torn apart by some "well intention" media reporter. JonHolmquist
FSA just gave 11 firms ability to be virtual currency exchanges: http://www.fsa.go.jp/menkyo/menkyoj/kasoutuka.pdf TokyoJPY is not on that list. The law also kicked in to disallow other companies from operating exchanges. I'm guessing here that regulators stepped in and told them to shut it down. Then why is TokyoGW saying they "merged" or "might" accept to refund TokyoJPY IOUs to Japanese resident... And why not give some warning... And even if worst case scenario they were shut down by surprise...still not good for Ripple's GateWay image/trust with all of us hostage to the situation
