Hello all, I just started researching Ripple and like what I've read so far in terms of its practical real world application now and its potential in the future should the use of XRP catch on. In any event, my question is simple, but perhaps there is not a simple or known answer. It seems as though the success of Ripple, or more specifically XRP, will completely depend upon its use by financial institutions utilizing the Ripple network (sorry if network is a poor choice of words - like I said, I'm relatively new) and actually using XRP as a bridge currency. The Ripple website does claim that the use of XRP as a bridge currency would result in significant savings. For this reason it seems hopeful that banking institutions that have invested in the Ripple network would eventually utilize XRP when performing international fx transactions. Soooo...with numerous banks now signed on to use ripple, are there any statistics as to how often XRP is actually being used as a bridge currency? Or, are things still very much in the beta phase and perhaps early investors are going out on a limb to see if it happens? Perhaps Ripple as a company has a better chance at success then XRP since they will benefit from the sales of its software (once again I'm not sure if this is the correct word to use here) regardless of whether or not XRP has mass adoption. Any talk on Ripple as a company going public with an IPO or is an investment in XRP the only avenue to reap the benefits? Thanks and once again I apologize if my use of language was inaccurate in some instances. I am by no means a technologically savvy person.
