Hello XRP community! Back in late 2013 Ripple offered XRP in exchange for donating (idle) CPU time tot he World Communty Grid (WCG) (https://ripple.com/insights/world-community-grid-welcomes-ripple-labs-as-a-partner/). (Mobile) devices these days are very competent and fast at making immense calculations. CPU’s have become so powerful that it’s power isn’t used at full potential; spare computational power is just lost! The goal of World Communty Grid (backed by IBM) is to pool this lost powers in a grid which is used to help researchers making calculations without having to hire a space in a data center or supercomputer. Since XRP’s can’t be mined maybe it’s a great opportunity to contribute our CPU power for a good cause? Taken from Wikipedia : “World Community Grid (WCG) is an effort to create the world's largest public computing grid to tackle scientific research projects that benefit humanity. Launched on November 16, 2004, it is co-ordinated by IBM with client software currently available for Windows, Linux, macOS, and Android operating systems. Using the idle time of computers around the world, World Community Grid's research projects have analyzed aspects of the human genome, HIV, dengue, muscular dystrophy, cancer, influenza, Ebola, virtual screening, rice crop yields, and clean energy. As of March 2018, the organization has partnered with 449 other companies and organizations to assist in its work, has over 52,000 active registered users, and a combined total run time of over 1.5 million years.” If this made some people curious about donating spare CPU-time, I’m willing to make a little guide on how to start. To get started you can visit https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/discover.action Here’s a screenshot of the underlying software BOINC that makes WCG possible: You can make some money off of the WCG with Gridcoin by joining a pool (https://www.gridcoin.us/ and https://www.grcpool.com/). Thanks for reading and hopefully I made some of you curious enough to give it a try

The address support@gatehub.net does not work anymore so I wrote to you. WCG username: gydeval. New public address: Ripple name: ~gydeval rKsWPNCUFL5AhmXbAfjZQSmi6zvWhzVTvE

Hey guys, I am searching the whole day to solve my problem. I am new in using the boinc software and started with getting points for progressing some projects. Now I want to earn some XPR for my work. But all tutorials I found are to old to help me. Most of them refer to computingforgood.org what doesn't exists. Now I want to turn my points into ripples and transfer them to my wallet (GateHub). I can't find a form where I can fill in my wallet key. Can you help me? I am registred at: worldcommunitygrid.org (entered the Ripple Lab) / gatehub.net Thanks a lot Disoon

Hi everyone, I'm very happy to be part of the community - I've been following Ripple for years now. Here's the situation: I got my first Ripple in 2014 via a giveaway organized by the World Community Grid and computingforgood.org - they opened my wallet for me. I got a small amount from that giveaway, but months later, I bought Ripples with USD through a trading service called The Rock Trading (based out of Malta). I gave them my Ripple address and the transaction went through successfully. Then I basically forgot about the Ripples intentionally. 3 years later, with all the growth and attention Ripple is enjoying, I decide I want to increase my investment. I manage to open a Bitstamp account, and when I choose the option to migrate, I'm just dumbfounded. It asks me for a username, but when I enter my address in Bithomp's Ripple Explorer, I can see my transaction history and everything, but my address isn't linked to a ~username. It also asks me for a secret key, but I never got this secret key to begin with as I never migrated my account out of whatever system was in place in 2014. Is there any way at all you can help me figure out how to find my secret key or retrieve my ~username? I would really appreciate the help. MARK
