Hi everyone. I am very new to Ripple and, indeed, to any kind of cryptocurrency. My problem is more or less the same as many others here. I transferred EUROS through SEPA (I am verified). Gatehub sends me the well known email to set the trust line, before they can deposit the money. Every time I try, I get the same. Gatehub says, once they receive a deposit, they will deposit the 20 XRP, in order to activate the wallet, so that the transferred EUROs can be deposited into the wallet. They would then send the well known email. They received the EUROs over a wee ago, but the wallet still has not been activated, meaning I can try as much as I like to set the trust line but this will always display the Error, unknown error message. What can I do, Any help?

The amount of ripple accounts has been growing exponentially. In the last month alone we had more than 300k new accunts registered, bringing us very close to 900k accounts. Since every account requires 20 XRP to activate and takes it effectively out of circulation, we actually have less 18M coins in the ciruclation today. Now if we assume that we are in the very early days of ripple going more mainstream, we can expect the number of accounts keeps growing exponentially. It is not unthinkable, that one day we might have 100M or even 1B Ripple accounts around the world. With 1B accounts it would mean that 20B xrp would be taken out of circulation. That's 1/5th of the whole supply. Also it is already starting to get a little bit too costly just to activate an account. What will happen if the price of XRP will grow another 5 or 10 times. WIth XRP priced at $10 it would cost $200 just to acitvate an account. That would be completely unreasonable and run against everything ripple is trying to do. Provide a low cost, lightning fast way to transfer funds around the globe and free up the worlds wealth sitting in nostro accounts. With 1B ripple accounts and XRP priced at $100, it would mean 2 Trillion dollars locked into Ripple accounts and that's in my mind even more nuts than keeping it in nostro accounts. From what I understand the 20XRP requirement was set to stop people from spamming the network for free accounts. At that time XRP was worth a fraction of what it is today and I think it is time to adjust the requirement to more contemporary XRP prices. If it was meant as a tiny amount of money functioning as a placeholder, it should be a tiny amount of money functioning as a placeholder.

Hello, I am new to Gatehub. I am have had my account verified and I am just wondering if the wallet will be activated automatically or if I have to buy XRP elsewhere. I mean that kind of beats the point of using this exchange. I have other crypto I would like to trade but I cannot use it until XRP is in the wallet.
