  1. Hey XRP community, GetBlock updated our Ripple nodes to version 1.9.4 This network is not based on blockchain, but on a custom developed decentralized ledger. The code of Ripple cryptocurrency is written in C++. All 100 billion XRP coins were created at the same time when the project was launched. XRP coins can be stored in PC wallets, mobile and hardware wallets. The advantages of Ripple are high transaction speed and low commissions. The Ripple cryptocurrency network is a distributed system of peer-to-peer XRP nodes. Every few seconds free blockchain nodes poll each other's state, figuring out which of them has the most complete transactions database at the moment and synchronizing their states. Any transaction between free blockchain nodes changes the state of the transactions database. The greater the number of Ripple nodes, the harder it is for an attacker to gain control of the network as a whole. Ripple maintains a list of identified trusted participants who are authorized to validate transactions. This system allows the Ripple network to run faster than most cryptocurrencies, but at the expense of decentralization. GetBlock provides instant access to shared & dedicated XRP nodes which could be integrated into DeFi, NFT marketplace or Play-to-Earn game in a matter of hours. 2. See the new update here ——————— (old updates) [Update 3] *Responsive Magenta!/White UI finished, *Saved a total of 20 minutes See the last update here (on Reddit) I did a little work on the UI, the first version of this one was breaking, apparently, I didn't code it "responsively"... So, I fixed that with MJML (responsive email-coding-thing), and now the text is aligned: Bad text-alignment versus Good text-alignment If you have any thoughts or suggestions on the look of the user-interface (UI) let me know, I'm liking how the magenta pops, and for me, it seems clear in terms of legibility. Fresh eyes are always helpful though! Fixes: Changed color theme—"MAGENTA/WHITE" Fixed email text-alignment Added spot for title of website Added numbering for posts to create "hierarchy" Removed red "Contribute" button, and instead made the titles clickable. Drafted "launch-plan" Added some error-catches to make it more "unbreakable" Goals for Tomorrow: Test UI on every email client web/mobile using either Litmus or something similar. Add 4 new websites to start receiving popular posts related to Ripple (6 total websites would be added by tomorrow). Any particular website(s) you'd like to have added? Sign-up for early-access to get notified of Vigilante's release, here (Google Form). Thanks for reading! I want to make information on Ripple accessible to everyone in a clear and efficient way. Again, I'd love to hear feedback.
  3. See the last update here What is this? Vigilante (name suggestions below), is an email service that does all your daily news-checking for Ripple, but more thoroughly. What this means... ...is that, instead of you going to all 50 websites and finding the most popular posts for that day, Vigilante does it for you. Saving you 8.3 hours of checking (even if you only spent 10 minutes per site), and making sure, through all the incorrect news and discussions, that you're seeing updates on Ripple through a clear lens. Why would this be helpful? Each day, you'd receive one email containing all news from that day related to Ripple, in a very user-friendly way (see the below images). And, Vigilante would only select the quality posts from that day (still working on this), so that the information would be accurate, and not "spam," or "fake." I'll be improving the email content being sent, by cross-checking each website to see who posted what news story, and how many others websites posted similar news stories—To "triple-check" the news on multiple sources and be able to provide an even better summary of Ripple-news for that day. Vigilante is a more focused news-aggregator with a user-friendly experience. Sign-up here (it's a Google Form) to get notified of its release, and become an early-accessor. I finished adding 4 more sites, so now there are a total of 6 websites it's getting information from (saving you ~60 minutes of time!). Here is the list of the current websites that Vigilante gets popular updates from: /r/Ripple (for news/discussion/misc.) /r/XRP (another source for news/discussion/misc.) XRPChat (another source for news/discussion/misc.) OracleTimes (source for news related to Ripple) Ripple.com (for Ripple press-releases) Ripple.com (another, 'more trusted' source for news) (any website you'd like to have added/removed?) Fixes/Additions: Added 4 new websites Goals for Tomorrow: Test UI on every email client web/mobile using either Litmus or something similar (Litmus wasn't working for me yesterday, going to retry using it today) Add 4 new websites to start receiving popular posts related to Ripple (10 total websites would be added by tomorrow) Thanks for reading! Any feedback is very appreciated! How it looks so far.
  4. I understand that Ripple has done an incredible job establishing connections with banks worldwide but something has occurred to me. The blockchain technology used by Bitcoin is OUTDATED. That being said there are newcomers like Cardano and IOTA which are introducing the so-called "Tangle", in other words, Blockchain 3.0. I would like to know, how much significance is this really? Would it not behoove Ripple to update their blockchain technology as well, or even convert to tangle? I think that the combination of strong connections with banks and other companies, and using the top technology would be great, but it seems Ripple has great business tactics and services, with what is ultimately subpar technology. Do you see what I mean? Ripple trumps other cryptocurrencies in the service they are providing in conjunction with the banks. Nobody is doing that. But Cardano and IOTA clearly have better technology on their hands so....what do you think? Please let me know. Also please share your thoughts on TRON, which is led by Ripples former Chief Representative in Greater China, Justin Sun. There must be some significance there.
  5. Is there a 'bonefied safe way' to update the firmware on a Ledger Nano S to not lose any BTC/ETH currently stored on the device? My XRP is currently stored on an online wallet and I'd love to move it to my Ledger Nano S, but I am afraid of losing the current firmware, and therefore losing my BTC/ETH stored on the device. Thanks for any insight.
  6. How many of you would like to see a meaningful quarterly progress report on Ripple and XRP? What would you like to see included in the report? I would like a list of all ripple employees who are helping various regulatory bodies and their positions within them. How many nodes/gateways there are to date and how many the quarter gained or lost. How many banks are signed up, their names, and the degree of integration and use of XRP. New 3rd party work such as bitgo wallet and what services the average consumer can use right now and through whom. What ways it is compliant or not with each countries regulations which might help or hurt adoption. Who has donated to the funding rounds. Where can you purchase it. Which exchanges trade it.
