  3. Many of us have strong arguments for the various price projections in our mind, but does anyone truly understand the effect that Fee Voting could have on the XRP market? https://ripple.com/build/fee-voting/ The purpose of Fee Voting is to keep from spamming the network, but what effect could this have on the scarcity of XRP over time? I find it hard to believe that Ripple would be in the habit of lowering their asset value.
  4. This is my latest blog entry! I take a close look at XRP volume and supply, and discuss how the entire crypto market might have just jumped in size and liquidity. Hope you enjoy & please leave any feedback below. Also, please feel free to share my blog with others and on other media & thank you for doing so! 5. I noticed a trend among various cryptocurrencies. It appears that those companies with a smaller circulating supply have shares that are worth much more. Bitcoin has only 16 million BTC in circulating supply but is worth $6100. XRP has an excess of 38 BILLION in circulating supply, and is worth only 20 cents per share. In relation to the law of supply and demand, it only makes sense that XRP is valued much less than it would be if there was a smaller circulating supply. Why doesn't XRP simply eliminate the billions of excess XRP to increase the value of its coin? How do they expect it to grow otherwise? ...and how is it the #3 cryptocurrency with such a small value of 20 cents/share? Somebody please enlighten me.
  6. Conflicts between diverging interests can cause a team not to work together. If a point guard (basketball analogy) cares more about taking a shot themselves to increase their personal statistics rather than passing the ball, the entire team might lose. This is a potential cause of discordance. A cohesive, well-oiled machine with all of its parts working together will be more effective than the individual parts by themselves. But this concept is lost on many of the blockchain-based technologies that are appearing on the market today. An alt-coin might appear that has a specific use case that appeals to an individual, but the blockchain suffers from legacy problems that persist in the coin's new form as well. The most cohesive teams are the ones that transcend their individual parts to become champions. XRP Supply As XRP and RCL adoption began to gain momentum, Ripple realized that, even though there might not be any actual conflict between how it planned to manage the XRP supply, it didn't appear that way to investors and traders, which was causing a potential blockage of investment in XRP. With the XRP Lockup (source: https://ripple.com/insights/ripple-to-place-55-billion-xrp-in-escrow-to-ensure-certainty-into-total-xrp-supply/ ) the company effectively squashed that concern with one decisive stroke. Ripple Employees' XRP Many of Ripple's everyday employees are also decent-sized XRP investors and stakeholders. They are interested in the same things we are - to increase their wealth over time and save as a potential nest egg for their family. This aligns their actions and goals with our own in a very big way: not only are they working at an eminent financial technology company headquartered in Silicon Valley, they are working to further their own interests at the same time. This is like an employee stock ownership plan on steroids! XRP's Role in Ripple's Business Even though Ripple derives a signficant amount of revenue through its services alone, it has made very clear that XRP - and its proper management - play a central role in the technology and integrations that it performs for banks. The benefits to using XRP have been studied and measured, leading to unassailable cost savings. (source: https://ripple.com/cost-model/ ) Strength Leading to More Strength When XRP appreciates to a signficant level, Ripple will become one of the largest companies in the financial sector, valued in accordance with the market capitaliation of its XRP holdings. This increase in valuation will bring sizable business investment and powerful alliances that will continue to help the company expand and acheive dominance in financial technology. This, in turn, will enahnce the usage of XRP throughout the ecosystem. Ripple is standing with you side by side to increase XRP's usage and value!
  7. It was surprising not to see a sharp drop off in Bitcoin after the SEC rejected Gemini's ETF proposal. I believe this rejection - and more importantly the STILL not resolved Bitcoin blocksize debate - has led to altcoins' value surging. If the blocksize debate continues unresolved, it offers potential for XRP to benefit from investors moving out of Bitcoin but wanting to stay in cryptocurrencies. Let me be realistic to start with, a reallocation away from Bitcoin is unlikely to benefit XRP as much as altcoins with limited supply that can be pumped up to the investor's great profit on the exchanges. Looking at coinmarketcap I do believe the recent surges in first Dash and now Monero has been partly driven by money taken out of Bitcoin looking for a profitable home. I think it will happen again with other altcoins with small market caps, because a move a half a billion dollars away is peanuts to Bitcoin, but if some of that goes to a small altcoin that altcoin's marketcap can multiply. Now I don't think this will happen in an identical way with XRP because the supply is so big, and one would think Ripple would take the opportunity of an appreciable price rise to sell thereby capping gains. But I definitely do believe a reallocation of money to alternative cryptocurrencies that but for the unresolved Bitcoin blocksize debate would have gone to Bitcoin is an opportunity for XRP to moderately increase in price. I'd almost think it would be yet another failure of communication, marketing and messaging to the cryptocurrency community by XRP enthusiasts and Ripple if XRP does not rise in value appreciably on Bitcoin decline or stagnation. My view is we've got to continue to talk amongst ourselves on xrpchat, but more than anything we've got to talk to cryptocurrency enthusiasts who have never been involved in XRP and to the general population of internet users interested in cryptocurrency whether they have bought or not. I would view the channels to this as Reddit and Bitcointalk, with appropriate moderation so that idealogically fixated holders of POW coins don't fill up the thread with "it's a premine <expletive> <explitive> scam". I am very busy working right now and I won't do it today, but on the weekend or early next week I'll probably open a thread on Reddit. At this stage my angle would be to suggest XRP as suitable for people to allocate a small percentage of their crypto holdings with a view to long term possibility of appreciation, notwithstanding it is more likely than not that promise will not be realised. I'd be interested in hearing the xrpchat community's views.
  8. Why would they hold onto it? Maybe they know something we don't. You only hold onto something if you think that it has worth or value. Let me know what you think, guys.
