  1. https://xrpripplenews.com/2019/08/20/santander-eyes-expansion-after-trading-volume-triples-using-ripple-tech/ ...after seeing Ripple powered payments triple over six months. Do you agree it is a case of if not when for teh switch to xRapid which uses XRP or will they just stay on xCurrent??
  2. Listened to the latest Bad Crypto Podcast with Oz Sultan, who is a fairly knowledgable and excentric guy in the tech field. He worked for the Trump campaign and has also done a lot of consulting for the US government in cyber security related issues. The entire podcast is quite interesting if you are concerned about the recent hacks and the SIM-swapping scandals that have hit certain major providers. The new "crypto phone" revolution is also higlighted. https://everipedia.org/wiki/lang_en/oz-sultan/ During the interview he aired some ideas on what he thought the future would be: From about 43 minutes in he talks about 18 months being the time until mass adoption, he mentions especially Sandtander with their app and the other banks using "Ripple" after Pennsylvania institutes a law that makes crypto exempt from the Wire transfer license, this could open the hatches. Very bullish. https://badcryptopodcast.com/2019/02/06/oz-sultan-236/
  3. I have been bagging XRP since last year, and like all of you I hope XRP goes moon and even to Mars. But there's a fundamental question I don't quite understand. As most of you believe that Swift partnership would make XRP goes moon. but even if Swift partnered with Ripple and most banks are using XRP, the banks would only buy and then exchange the XRP back to fiat within a few seconds when the transaction is done. So how would that push up the price of XRP? Since the XRP would be bought at a slightly higher price and sold for a slightly lower price so wouldn't that make the price level even?

  6. First of the ‘big five’ banks to move from Visa as Mastercard seeks to grow in the UK Santander will become the first of the UK’s ‘big five’ high street banks to issue debit cards through Mastercard from next year, marking a major step in the payments group’s efforts to fight Visa’s dominance in the sector. Santander UK, which has more than 9m debit cards in issue — almost 10 per cent of the UK total — will begin moving customers to Mastercard as their existing cards expire from the first quarter of 2019. Mark Barnett, Mastercard divisional president for the UK, said the deal would give it “real scale in the UK debit card market”, and was “proof that Mastercard’s debit card solutions offer all the flexibility, security and convenience banks and their cardholders require in today’s digital age”. More than 95 per cent of debit cards in the UK run on Visa’s network, but Mastercard has signed up several smaller banks since Visa’s European arm was bought out by Visa Inc in 2016. This was previously owned by a co-operative of European banks, with the value of each bank’s stake dependent on the volume of transactions they handled. Analysts warned at the time of the €21bn deal that it could allow Mastercard to win back some of the business that had previously been tied to its rival. TSB — which has around 4.5 per cent of the debit card market — is due to move its debit card portfolio to Mastercard later in the year which, with the Santander agreement, is expected to bring Mastercard’s market share close to 20 per cent. Matt Hall, Santander UK director of banking and unsecured credit, said the partnership “will enable us to give better payment solutions to our customers and look forward to rolling out the new cards from next year”. Mastercard’s push into the UK follows last year’s £700m acquisition of Vocalink, which builds real-time payments infrastructure, from a consortium of British banks. Vocalink is aiming to launch a separate service this year allowing customers to pay for online purchases directly from their current accounts, cutting out the need to use a debit card. The company has signed up several banks that issue cards through Visa — including Barclays and HSBC — to join the programme. https://www.ft.com/content/7d6f5e48-4d53-11e8-8a8e-22951a2d8493?segmentid=acee4131-99c2-09d3-a635-873e61754ec6

  10. It's a podcast so I don't have a transcript to quote. But the highlight on the facebook link quotes: "We are covering 50% of all the FX payments the Santander Group does annually. It works really well... we’ve tested for two years and they work, they’re safe and they’re fully compliant.” -Santander Group Executive Chairman Ana Botin on One Pay FX Santander on One pay FX and their use of Ripple

  13. Santander is set to launch an international money transfer app with Ripple "Bostock name-checked partner Ripple, the fintech company which specialises in cross-border payments through its blockchain-based xCurrent and RippleNet products. He did not give a specific date for launch of the new product." Though it's xCurrent at first, we know how easy it is to switch to an even more cost efficient solution.
  14. Just an observation I've made, notice the roll out of integration on both apps. Santander: https://www.coindesk.com/santander-uk-ripple-payment-app/ Apple: https://www.engadget.com/2018/02/24/apple-pay-cash-nears-its-first-international-expansion/ This is on the the eve of SBI Insurance introducing Apple Pay as a means of payments. https://prtimes.jp/main/html/rd/p/000000082.000002623.html And some recent Tim Cook comments, https://gizmodo.com/sagelike-tim-cook-dreams-of-seeing-money-die-1822969860
  15. Hi all, Just read this piece of news and wondering why it is not getting more attention. Santander has been a long time partner of Ripple and testing quite a bit of its tech. Is this the move towards a more retail element? https://www.ccn.com/3-clicks-40-secs-santander-launch-ripple-retail-app-4-countries/
  16. Have been watching XRP/Ripple, and have purchased XRP. Interested in feedback on fact that Santander, that I thought was planning on using Ripple, is working with Clearmatics to develop another coin. Anyone with more knowledge have any background/thoughts on this? http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-27/are-banksters-creating-their-own-cryptocurrency-called-utility-settlement-coin

  18. In reading through some very recent developments, it is quickly becoming clear to me that there are very powerful forces that might be working behind the scenes on usage of the new financial technology for distributed ledgers, whether this is the form of the RCL, an open-source blockchain, or even an altcoin. Central Banks The Central Bank of England conducted trials of distributed ledger technology with Ripple recently. (source: http://www.bankingtech.com/775302/bank-of-england-teams-with-ripple-for-cross-border-payments/) Then just a couple days ago, Russia's Central Bank Deputy Chairman Olga Skorobogatova was quoted as saying that: (source: http://tass.com/economy/949263 ) This indicates a gathering storm in the central banks to adopt some sort of standardized distributed ledger technology. One of the international organizations that is charged with standards across nation-states is the International Monetary Fund. The IMF One of the IMF's goals is "Capacity Development" of its member countries. Here's the official definition of "Capacity Development": (source: https://www.imf.org/en/About ) And guess what? Ripple is there too. Chris Larsen is the only member of the IMF Advisory group who works for a company with a digital asset (XRP) (source: http://www.imf.org/en/News/Articles/2017/03/15/pr1784-imf-managing-director-welcomes-establishment-of-high-level-advisory-group-on-fintech) Starting to connect the dots? Company Investments and Interests In addition, we just learned that SBI has acquired a majority share in R3, giving them the ability to standardize the open blockchain-based DL to integrate using ILP, potentially opening hundreds of doors to potential usage of the RCL and XRP. (source: http://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Companies/Japan-s-SBI-megabanks-take-stakes-in-blockchain-group-R3?page=1 ) Remember, SBI also owns 17% of Ripple, and has a seat on the Ripple board! (source: http://www.nikkei.com/article/DGXLASDZ28HX8_Y6A120C1TJC000/ and https://ripple.com/company/board-of-directors/) Globalization Organizations And now, to top it off (and this is where you conspiracy buffs will want to lean in closer to the monitor and cover that webcam pointed at you), there was an article yesterday that stated that Banco Santander will be an invitee to the Bilderberg Group in 2017. (source: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/jun/02/bilderberg-secretive-conference-eric-schmidt) And remember, Santander was one of the original angel investors in Ripple! (source: http://www.businessinsider.com/santander-innoventures-invests-4-million-in-ripple-labs-2015-10 ) We already know about the incredible headlines that Ripple is making at conferences and through official channels, but sometimes its good to analyze the backchannels as well, to get some indication of where things *might* be heading! And to tell you the truth, I strongly believe that these connections point to the RCL - and XRP - being used in a very big way! ############################################################### DISCLAIMERS: I DO NOT HAVE INSIDE INFORMATION THIS IS NOT INVESTMENT ADVICE DO NOT INVEST IN ANY CRYPTO WITH LEVERAGE I AM NOT A MEMBER OF SKULL AND BONES ###############################################################
