Stuur me dan gerust even een PM.
  2. Hello guys. My father in-law is having a bit of an issue. He has a great amount of XRP stored in his gatehub account. The issue we are having is when we go to send fund to the Ledger Nano it wont let us because it says Disabled: Watch only wallet. Well basically is gatehub holding our XRP hostage? All we want to do is move our XRP from gatehub to our Nano Ledger, but we cant. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I need help understanding tax implicatiions of holding and cashing out Crypto Currencies. So if in the event that Ripple reaches $1.00 a coin i will have made a gain of over 50,000 dollars. Using that as a basis for answering the folowing questions. 1. Do i need to report the gain on my tax returns even though according to the IRS this is considered Property? Because if something i own around my house suddenly appreciates in value i dont feel that this is reported(lets say an old magic card collection that suddenly increases valuse to over 100k which could easily be done with only a 3 card collection) would i need to report that propery value appretiation to the IRS? And if thats the case.. what if i simpy dont pay attention to the monetary value? same with a crypto currency.. i could essentially store a a cold wallet with a couple thousand coins and never monitor that value. 2. If i have to pay taxes on the gains.. how is the determined starting value and ending value be determined? if i file my taxes with 50k in coins and then the next day the value plummits to 1 dollar does that reverse the process meaning a capital loss would i get a bigger return the following year? 3. would it be more benificial to keep multiple crypto currencies incase one gets a capital gain and the other has a capital loss to help offset the taxes 4. what tax levies are placed on purchasing goods WITH the currency vs converting the currency to USD? Sorry if this is kinda out there.. any information you can shed some light on would be amazing. Im not big into stocks and how those are taxed. but from what i have read online... the IRS can take 15% to 28% of all of my gains every year. So if i have 10k worth of ripple and then it increases in value by 100% then the actual gain that i have to report is 10k which the IRS can take up to 2,800 of.. which also brings me back to the question "what if i just store it and dont monitor it?" gah... im so confused. but i dont feel too bad.. from what ive read the IRS doesnt have a firm handle on it either.
  4. Etoro announced that Ripple will available on its platform for trading. They have millions of users and they will buy ripple.
  5. Hi! Everyone I would like to know which is the best option if i want to acquired XRP for long term on GateHub. 1. Trade option on GateHub? or 2. Exchange option on GateHub? First thing i noticed is that the price on exchange is slightly higher than trading price. Am considering keeping them on a Ledger Nano S, i guess my only option is Exchange or can i trade and transfer the xrp to my hardwallet.? Thank you in advance .
  6. I compare XRP head-to-head against Ethereum and Bitcoin. Despite my obvious leanings, I didn't pull any punches, and list off the results and my findings - some surprised me! Hope you enjoy the latest blog entry - it was a follow up on the "new investors" piece a few days ago where I talked about a comparison checklist. Let me know your feedback positive or negative below, and please feel free to share on any other forum or media! 9. Experts agree that we are heading for an economic correction soon; will XRP become a viable safe haven asset? Will it rival gold? I discuss this in my latest blog entry. I hope you enjoy the read! I think eventually all of crypto - and especially XRP - might become a viable safe haven asset like some fiat-based currencies or even gold. 10. Artificial Intelligence has the potential to integrate closely with crypto-currency: I discuss these points and describe where XRP interacts with machine learning. There's a LOT of potential in machine learning - after reading, I might even try out a "trade bot" of my own if I have time. Open source projects are out there! Hope you enjoy - let me know any feedback below, and please feel free to share over other media. 12. G'day, I have spent the past couple of weeks reading as much as I can about cryptocurrency, learning how it works and how to invest and just a few days ago, I bought my first parcel of XRP. It's all a little overwhelming at this point as there is so much information to wade through and sorting the good from the not so good has been a challenge. But I have found this forum and there seems to be a lot of good people here so I hope to learn more from a community of like minded investors. Anyway, just introducing myself here and I hope to engage in some good discussion.

  15. Hi all Happy for my post to be moved somewhere else. My question is: in the past, Ripple Chart website used to report the number of accounts, and also a plot showing how many accounts had been created, but this number/plot is not anymore available... Any idea, where to find it? It was really useful to get an idea of the total XRP accounts...
  16. The new influx of crypto investment is not going to look like our existing demographic! I discuss what this means for evaluation of crypto choices and its impact on XRP. I hope you enjoy the read - I learned quite a bit along the way; Maybe I have my XRP-colored glasses on again , but I think traditional investors pouring into the market are going to do a careful comparative analysis that will lead them to XRP. Ultimately, I feel that they will respect the most traditional of choices when it comes to digital assets... the one that works with banks. Feel free to leave feedback below positive or negative, and please share my post on any other media of your choice. 19. Question posed by Ripple reddit user; I just can't fathom why banks don't just adopt the infrastructure Ripple has created and just disuse XRP entirely? Answer: (Joel Katz)" Because the infrastructure that Ripple is building provides fast payments but not fast settlement. Right now, it doesn't matter that much that it takes a few days to settle a payment because the payment itself takes about that long. But if the payment can complete in seconds and the settlement still takes days, customers will still have to pre-fund their payments to avoid the slow path. That means it will cost their customers a lot more. One of the key factors driving banks to Ripple right now is that banks want to save their customers money, particularly for new corporates that spend a lot of money pre-funding payments. Take Uber for example. Uber wants a person to drive for them because they need extra money to buy groceries. For that to work, Uber has to be able to pay people in many countries within an hour. While Uber is more extreme, companies like AirBNB, Amazon and even more traditional companies like Seagate need to make rapid payments all over the world. Today, a company would do that by keeping a pile of money in every market they might need to pay into. But that costs them a fortune. If their payments could settle quickly, they would save those outlays and every bank wants their business. Fortunately, international payments are almost as bad today as international settlement is. So Ripple can make a business out of providing better and aster payments even if banks still have to use traditional correspondents for the settlement. So banks do see huge value in Ripple even without XRP. But every bank that uses Ripple's payment system also eliminates all the technical obstacles to settling with XRP. So for a payment where XRP is faster, cheaper, or both, there's absolutely no reason for them not to use it."
  20. Prolly a silly question but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Hypothetically speaking someone wants to cash out of their positions but the total sum of fiat they have exceeds the monthly withdrawal limits on said exchange is there anyway to cash it out properly?
