Buy XRP & Sleep Well At Night
Hodor posted a topic in General DiscussionDo you want a simple survival guide for new crytpo investors that actually have a real life? Buy XRP and forget it. In this latest blog entry, I discuss the market re-ordering of crypto, and then stop to look at the latest wallet statistics to benchmark the beginning of 2018 for XRP investors. In addition, I cover the latest rumor about "very large purchases" that is making its way across social media. Hope you enjoy the read & please leave any feedback below. When i first started looking into XRP i came across Coinbase. I used it for a while and for Direct Credit/Debit card transactions it was the only one i could find that didnt require me to jump through hoops. So i used it.. Then i found out today that Changelly actually has a similar feature to let you buy XRP directly with your debit card. but the numbers seemed way off so i decided to look at the math and see the yield % for some simple methods of buying XRP. Hopefully this can save some new people some money. (At the time of this post the price of XRP is $0.221 XRP/USD... Given that figure. $500 dollars of ripple would be worth 2262.44 Ripple Coins.) Changelly A $500 purchase using Changelly with a Credit/Debit card will net you 1,512.62 XRP. XRP Loss = 749.82 XRP. Total Fee = $165 USD Total Yield = 66% Coinbase A $500 purchase using a Credit/Debit card on Coinbase will net you 2,034.77 XRP. (500 dollars worth of litecoin = 6.17 LTC transferred out of Coinbase to Changelly) XRP Loss = 227.67 XRP Total Fee = $50 USD Total Yield = 89% When Transferred to Kraken instead of Changelly Transferring the 6.17 LTC to Kraken and converting it to Bitcoin will net you 0.10622 XBT. Transferring the BTC to XRP will net you with 2167.75 XRP XRP Loss = 94.69 Total Fee = $21 USD Total Yield = 96% The biggest fee here is the $19.18 from Coinbase's Credit/Debit Card fee. This fee is a lot less if you use USD deposit from your bank account but i dont recommend doing this on Coinbase because the process takes 5 to 8 days. Needless to say... Using Changelly for a credit card transaction or really probably any transaction is just wasting your money. This information may be fairly obvious to some of you but it wasnt to me when i first started and maybe this can save some people some money and net them some more RIPPLE
Can't Trade on Kraken
pivara posted a topic in Gateways and ExchangesI'm new to the purchasing of cryptos and am having trouble on Kraken. I transferred my BTC that I got on Coinbase to my wallet and into Kraken. When I try to purchase XRP I get the following message - "Your order may have failed. Please refresh the page and check your order. Contact support if necessary." I have tried finding something similar here with no luck. Kraken sent me some half-assed response that didn't address my issue and I'm waiting for a follow up response. I have already initiated my verification on BitStamp and might be moving there if I can't get an answer regarding Kraken soon. Thanks for any help.

Day 4 Without XRP - The Delay Saga
XTRA_HRDCOR_XRP posted a topic in Problem SolvingHello Everyone, I am new to XRP, Ripple, and this excellent chat community. I would like to bring up an issue I am having when attempting to purchase XRP. I feel this is having an impact (although it may be very small) on the current price and downtrend. I recently purchased a nice portion of XRP on the Poloniex exchange using BTC. This process was extremely easy because I am familiar with the exchange and had BTC available for the trade. I got in at .36 and am very happy in my long position. After my initial purchase I decided I wanted to make another XRP purchase. Keep in mind this was at least 3 days ago when the price was much higher than it is right now. Unfortunately I am running into the following roadblocks: My first plan of action was to open an account with Kraken as they offer USD to XRP transactions. I was and am still very excited about this. I followed all the steps to get my account verified... and it is still pending 4 days later. On their website they say account verification typically takes 48 hours. Searching the forums and support it appears some people are still waiting for account verification 9 days later. I continue to patiently wait as this is my preferred method to purchase XRP. So patience aside and with the dip in XRP to the low/mid 20's this morning I decided to try option #2. I've had a Coinbase account for a long time and went there to purchase BTC. The plan was to then transfer the BTC to Poliniex and make the XRP trade. Should be easy right? Nope - Coinbase had a disclaimer stating newly acquired BTC will take 7 days before showing up in my account... yikes. So now I am back to square one lol. I am standing here with a large wad of USD and I cannot purchase XRP. I am patiently waiting on Kraken and now considering other exchanges that offer USD to XRP purchases. Of course I am all ears for a better solution if you have one. I wanted to bring up my dilemma because as someone trading altcoins the past few years I did not expect to be in this position. Now imagine someone looking to purchase XRP for the first time... yikes. So what now? What if BTC continues going through the roof as some people predict? Will all of the excitement and new purchases push the 7 day delay even further? If so how long will a BTC purchase take in the future? What about the exchanges and the rush of new accounts? I have now idea how long before my Kraken account is fully verified but they are already behind schedule in a major way. If it takes a person over a week to purchase XRP right now... any ideas on how long it will take in the future? It seems crazy to word the question in this way but XRP is at the mercy of these things unfortunately. I would love to walk up to a Ripple machine right now and buy XRP directly... at its current price, without delay. I wanted to share my experience and bring up these questions because I believe this having a negative impact on the value of XRP. I am not necessarily looking to have my questions answered but am bringing up questions someone new to the BTC XRP ALTCOIN world may have. Please keep in mind I wanted to purchase additional XRP days ago when the price was much higher... hopefully I can make a purchase sometime this or next week... who knows what the price will be then. I believe in Ripple and XRP and want them (and us) to succeed. Have a great day everyone and thank you in advance for the great insights and information already provided on this site.
Shakepay and XRPDoes anyone know why XRP isn't linked with Shakepay yet? It is linked with BTC, ETH, and DASH. https://shakepay.co/#/ Is there any news on this front? Is there any visa debit card for XRP? A quick google search gave me these for bitcoin. https://www.weusecoins.com/bitcoin-debit-cards/ Is this something that's waiting on the Bitgo wallet?
