New to XRP I made the mistake of importing a hex private key (not the secret key beginning with an "s") from ian coleman's BIP39 tool into a wallet that accepted the key producing the corresponding public key leading me to believe I was good-to-go but the wallet fails to sent. Apparently I'm not the first to make this mistake but the most recent solution I can find is from 4 years ago referencing a tool that enabled signing with a hex key however the tool is not presently active on the main network. https://ripplerm.github.io/ripple-wallet/ Any insight on how to sign a transition with a hex key would be greatly appreciated. thx

I just wanna keep this to the bare minimum, information wise, to get to the question I am asking.... I went through all of the steps to make my first purchase of XRP through Binance. I have successfully moved all my XRP from Binance to my Toast Wallet and have saved, in various formats, every bit of pin numbers, passwords, etc. I have my address and secret key most importantly. Hypothetically, can I delete Toast wallet from my device(s) and be able to access my XRP with the keys that I have?

Hiya All, I have been reading up on Ripple/XRP for sometime now but still have some gaps in my knowledge that I am struggling to understand, so I hope you dont mind me asking what I am hoping aren't obvious questions! I am a techie so I have a good grasp of that side, but I am not 100% on the process, so if someone wouldn't mind filling in the blanks please: When you buy XRP, do you actually own them (as I have seen people talk of IOU's, so I am not sure if you just own an IOU)? When I use my private key to verify who I am with an exchange/gateway, then wouldn't they also know my private key from that point onwards and be a potential security risk to me? If something happens to a gateway or an exchange I bought through, will my XRP's be okay? I plan on investing a good amount of money using GateHub, are their exchange rate's/prices good (as I thought that it will be the best as it is a gateway rather then an only an exchange)? Thanks for your patience,

Hello, I am new to this forum, but long time lurker, you guys are Awesome!!! I have a general newbie question - I have a few XRP in Kraken and in Gatehub. So here is the dilemma - Kraken as i speculate is a hosted wallet, so i have username and password there - all is fine. Gatehub as I conclude - offers a private wallet. So here is the question - when I created account with them - i did password and username (as with Kraken) but then they gave me a recovery key (in case i forgot my password) and private key. As i understand, private key can be obtained inside the account when I log into Gatehub (under view private key preferences) So the question is: why should I record my private key in paper and store it in a safe place (as many here tell to do) if I feel perfectly safe - as long as I can log into my Gatehub account and view it There!!>? {I mean - if Gatehub end up to be scam artists - then yes - but if they are Legit(which i suppose they are)}?!? - why should i write down or save my private key - if there is a bigger chance that someone steals it from my notebook than my online wallet.....) Thank You for any insights !!!

I know you hold your own XRP private key on Gatehub...but what if you sell your XRP for BTC or USD? Is your money still safe from hackers?
