  1. John Whelan, the Managing Director of Digital Investment Banking at Banco Santander: Bitcoin he says is “inefficient” as it validates transactions every 10 minutes. As such they (Santander) are leveraging the tech developed by Ripple that settles payments across the XRP Ledger in 4 seconds. Whelan added, “Instant transfers at a very very tight spread, 30 basis points, nice user experience. I used it myself, money to the United States, it’s available on the same day. Fantastic. At a guaranteed rate, even better.” Source: https://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=2ahUKEwjri4jC6-_lAhWIZVAKHfFgCX8QFjAAegQIAhAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fbitcoinexchangeguide.com%2Fripple-partner-banco-santander-to-run-its-blockchain-based-payment-system-on-6-more-corridors%2F&usg=AOvVaw3-Su0nsJRolueBiXq4v8MO
  2. Anyone else host stopped receiving payment? My last payment was on the 28th June. Was regularly getting a very small payment every 3-5 hours but have since stopped. Nothing since the 28th.

  4. Hey guys do you know if it’s possible to integrate ripple in an online shop? If yes, do you have good or bad experience with it? I‘m just thinking which steps are needed to implement maybe Xrapid in e.g. an online shop or something familiar. Or just how to use xrp for payment. What has Zerpina to do if she wants to accept xrp as an payment method? thanks in advance!
  5. Hello fellow hodlers For some the day is near, others need/want to wait, but ultimately some of us will sell our zerps and convert back to fiat. I want to collect some thoughts on this process. The only regulated exchange I know is Bitstamp and apparently they are OK, but I haven't transferred to them amounts beyond five-figure. I've never transferred fiat back from them to my bank either. I understand that nobody with a sane mind will post here and say: "Sure it works, I transferred back and forth a couple of millions of EUR already", but I hope we can share some insights. I know some of the old time hodlers here have become very rich 7-9 figure rich, that is. So, how do you plan on handling the issue? Technically, Bitstamp, and any other fiat accepting exchange are pure exchanges, matching my sell order with buy orders, so they should HAVE my cash, and not just on paper, but in their accounts, since somebody (multiple people) will have bought my XRP. I'm more concerned with the exchanges playing funny games and stuff. I consider this a very serious topic and I don't want any FUDsters posting market cap nonsense. I will cash out $ millions one day and so please stay away if you have nothing practical and applicable to contribute. How will you people handle this? Also: Bitstamp told me they'll ask fore "additional info", should they need to make a large payment. When I asked what kind of info, they refused to tell me. Has anybody been subject to their additional due diligence yet? Thank you.
  6. Hi all, Just read this piece of news and wondering why it is not getting more attention. Santander has been a long time partner of Ripple and testing quite a bit of its tech. Is this the move towards a more retail element? https://www.ccn.com/3-clicks-40-secs-santander-launch-ripple-retail-app-4-countries/
  7. Hello all, I've been trying to make some manual JSON RPC based payments from one of my test wallets to another in the XRP test net. However, each attempt has resulted in: { "error": "amendmentBlocked", "error_code": 14, "error_message": "Amendment blocked, need upgrade.", } The server in question is https://api.altnet.rippletest.net:51234/ The call that I used was essential simply a copy paste from https://ripple.com/build/rippled-apis/#submit, with the address and secret set to my own. { "method": "submit", "params": [ { "offline": false, "secret": "s████████████████████████████", "tx_json": { "Account": "rf1BiGeXwwQoi8Z2ueFYTEXSwuJYfV2Jpn", "Amount": { "currency": "USD", "issuer": "rf1BiGeXwwQoi8Z2ueFYTEXSwuJYfV2Jpn", "value": "1" }, "Destination": "ra5nK24KXen9AHvsdFTKHSANinZseWnPcX", "TransactionType": "Payment" }, "fee_mult_max": 1000 } ] } From my understanding of the various errors, "AmendmentBlocked" reflects that the node is somehow incapable of handling the request, possibly due to the version being too old. But then again, is this not the official test net? How could it be behind?
  8. Hi Guys, I just got noticed that there was a payment with an amout of 288,000,000 XRP. Since I know that some of you guys are totally into this. What could this mean and do the sender/receiver addresses relate to something or someone? Thanks!
  9. About two weeks i'm waiting on my transfer of EUR to my bankaccount from the Gatehub wallet. Still nothing recieved. My TX hash seems to be allright and the transfer has been done, but still nothinh in my bankaccount. I've send several e-mail to the Gatehub support with all the info i have about the payment. But still no response. Are they non-existing or is there something else going on. A complete silence. Someone has similar experiences ? Any tips ? Help ? It's about a lot of money that's missing right now. And that for two weeks allready. Help !?
  10. To improve XRP’s adoption for cross-border payments, the price of the digital asset should be stable as much as possible. Ripple Lab Inc. should evaluate to promote a sort of Digital Asset Derivatives Market, with XRP as underlying entity, in order to insure against price movement during the payment transaction. With double effect: more opportunity for liquidity and speculation, from one side, and more assurance and confidence for Bank and Financial Institutions.
  11. Dear crypto-friends, I need some help ! For several weeks i'm waiting on a payment to my bankaccount from my Gatehub Wallet. And still no respons from the Gatehub support after several e-mails...getting desperate now. In my Gatehub Wallet i clicked on "Send Payment" and then i clicked on "EU bank". In the field "Send to" it was possible for me to click my EU-bankaccount number (it was memorized because i used it before to deposit money in my wallet) . I filled in the maximum amount and then next. Everything looked fine. I also have a TX hash and a conformation. But still nothing on the bank. Anyone that could help me what to do? I'm looking forward on a answer/solution. Greetings, Rob
  12. Read some articles on the net, as follow -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is a ripple XRP token similar to other cryptocurrencies? No. There's a notable difference between digital currencies like bitcoin and ripple's XRP tokens. Bitcoin is the actual currency being traded and used, whereas XRP tokens are essentially backed by traditional currencies, as if they're dollars or yen in another form. While bitcoin and most other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum exist for the simple purpose of existing as digital money, ripple was born as a solution to the global problem of transferring money from one country to another. It can take days to do this. As Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse likes to say, the fastest way to transfer money from the U.S. to London is to get on plane and fly it over there (presumably as a carry-on). Ripple created XRP tokens to seamlessly pay transaction fees between financial institutions, allowing funds to be promptly transferred between banks that have agreed to use this service. A transaction can happen at astonishing speed — in a few seconds. "XRP aren not intended to be money in and of themselves," said Pierre Rochard, a software engineer and cryptocurrency expert. "They're more like a giftcard or a token at Dave and Busters to use the arcade machines. --------------------------- Link source : http://mashable.com/2017/12/29/ripple-currency-is-not-actually-currency/#4PNvpM5w8gq9 it is true that xrp can not be used as a means of payment ? ,.. why ? Thanks in advance for any objective explanation
  13. Hi Guys ripple is always saying that its the fastest crypto compared to the big players like XBT ETH etc. but whats currently the most fastest crypto? Or which crypto does have the most potential to become the fastest transaction method? Is it really ripple with transaction speed under 4 seconds? Is there no way to do it faster? Merry Christmas
  14. I have tried to transfer from my koinex (indian crypto exchange) a/c to gatehub wallet and got failed but koinex status shows it processed , here is link of ripple chart https://xrpcharts.ripple.com/#/transactions/85878001A7E4749F2C56958741AD002AFBD70A4F5C2AB82FE7296BCAD315AFCE , it will be grateful if anyone helpme to get back my xrp. 16. Hello, I have been looking at the XRP LEDGER CHARTS and i have noticed there are about four fiat currencies, plus XRP making it five. I noticed using the Offercreate Transaction type, most of the currencies that i see been exchanged on it were this four currencies. Is it possible to use another currency, and if so, how would i go about it? I am just wondering why the currencies being used is USD,EUR,JPY,CNY? Why just this four currencies? Who decided what currencies can be used? Is it possible to use other currencies?
  17. When will an exchange open up with XRP as the gateway coin the way BTC is now? With its claim as the fastest coin on the market, is seems like a no brainer. If there were an exchange where every coin flowed into and out of xrp it would give it an extremely obvious and immediate use case. Last year when SBI partnered with Kraken https://news.bitcoin.com/sbi-kraken-announce-multi-million-dollar-deal/ and then announced that it was opening an exchange https://www.coindesk.com/sbi-first-bank-backed-digital-currency-exchange/ I thought for sure that because of SBI Ripple Asia... that an XRP based exchange was exactly what was about to happen. It makes too much sense.... and yet, no news. Does anyone have any articles that point to this happening at some point or give a timeline to that kind of liquidity boost?
  18. I'm trying to send Gatehub USD from my account to another. The other party has more USD trust lines including USD:Gatehub, USD:Bitstamp etc. I tried with gatehub.net and a desktop wallet, both try to automatically convert Gatehub USD to Bitstamp's because it's currently "profitable" (e.g. the USD/USD ratio is far from 1). I guess this is ripple's feature of pathfinding. Is there any way of bypassing this? The other party really wants USD:Gatehub and if they get USD:Bitstamp, they'll need to convert it back which will likely be loss.
  19. There is one thing that I am struggling to get my head around with respect to volatility and payments... Let's say I am a big company and I need to pay $10m to a creditor for whatever reason. (Let's just say 1 XRP equals 1 USD at time zero) Step 1: I buy my XRP10m give the bank my $10m Step2: The bank does an immediate transfer of my XRP10m to the other party/bank Step 3: The receiving party/bank converts this XRP10m into USD (to expunge my obligation), but due to the fairly extreme volatility the price is now .99c instead of $1, therefore the receiving bank/counterparty didn't receive $10m but $9 900 000. The $100 000 was lost due to currency volatility...that's a problem for the ultimate receiver of the currency. Okay so what if the original invoice WAS in fact in XRP...well then I have a whole new problem with respect to accounting/GAAP/IFRS that will come into play as XRP is NOT a currency... I can carry on all day with examples of how this would be a nightmare to implement if you are a publicly traded company... As a fairly experienced global corporate treasurer I would love to get a better payment system than the banks and SWIFT and I have seen some presentations on the "Ripple" software, which is very interesting, but using XRP in a large corporate might be more trouble than its worth. Any comments appreciated as I don't want to look like I am bashing this, but international treasury is what I do EVERY day and I can't work out why I would even consider XRP as a payment currency. There are also no NDF's, Forwards, options or derivatives that I could use to hedge my XRP exposure...
  20. This is just confirmation that Ripple in the running, and a chance to check out their direct competition as pertains to this particular area. There are some noteworthy entries, but Ripple is by far and away a market leader. It is worth noting that some of these competitors are openly looking to end BTC.....as crypto investors we would be wise to remember that this party could all be over in one regulatory swipe. Unlikely, yes, but don't put all your eggs in one basket. https://fedpaymentsimprovement.org/faster-payments/capability-showcase/
  21. Dear Gatehub! Since you do not provide basic information on your website and your customer service isn't helpful at all, I had to register for this chat. What I do not understand are payments. I understand that I can make an initial funding from a bank account only if it's my own bank account. Can I receive third party bank payments (SEPA) later? And can I send a bank payment to a third party? From your screenshot ("Send Payment") it totally looks that I can. "Send payment" means something different than "make a withdrawal". But it doesn't make sense to me. An account at you is not a bank account.
  22. https://www.bostonglobe.com/ideas/2016/06/30/the-next-bitcoin-how-name-your-cryptocurrency/NeOGNimm3Ig4v8sgfkD4rI/story.html "Parkin believes that cryptocurrency names will eventually stop the slavish tributes to Bitcoin and drop “coin” altogether. A truly great name, he says, would invent an entirely new way to talk about virtual currency. And at least one company is trying to do that: Ripple Labs, a cryptocurrency payment system focused on B2B customers.
  23. Anyone else notice the nearly 7 billion XRP payment volume today? 100 XRP bounty to anyone who finds the transaction hashes for the payments totaling ~60M USD. Could be distribution to FIs... Could be Larsen donating 7 billion of his XRP, did that already happen? http://www.coindesk.com/ripple-price-rebound-ceo-7-billion-xrp-donation/
