  1. Blog Link: https://xrpcommunity.blog/xrp-milestones-of-progress/ In today's blog I break down significant recent XRP milestones, along with the Q3 XRP Markets Report! The pace of XRP news is staggering; I've packed this article with the highest-profile developments and still had to exclude some interesting developments. Ripple News included the Quarter 3 XRP Markets Report, and I provide my perspective on it, along with some action items I recommend for the XRP Community. Quidax announces their interest in becoming an xRapid partner; ECS, a massive treasury service for corporates, announces plans for Ripple tech integration; Chris Larsen makes his perspective on XRP and digital assets crystal clear at the Money 20/20 Conference; and a new episode of The Ripple Drop confirms that Multi-hop does indeed activate the option for any RippleNet member to use xRapid. XRP News includes two new exchanges supporting XRP, along with an announcement from Wietse that he'd like to integrate the XRP Tip Bot with Wirex. 3. https://ripple.com/insights/q2-2018-xrp-markets-report/ For those who were wondering, Miguel is still our man "It’s also important to note that despite Ripple having its best quarter ever in Q2 — in terms of customers signed — XRP’s price continued to decline with those of other digital assets, underscoring XRP’s independence from Ripple." Impact on bold is mine.

  6. Being a change agent for banking is unforgiving work. Luckily for us, Ripple is more than up to the task. In my review of the Quarter 4, 2017 XRP Markets Report, I review the effect of recent negative publicity, as well as remind XRP investors about some key considerations that they should remember when seeing resistance to the change that Ripple - and XRP - represents. And of course, we will look at Miguel's quarterly XRP report to see some surprising numbers for Ripple. Spoiler alert: Ripple made as much money in one quarter than they did for an entire year. I'm not giving it all away, however, so you'll have to read my blog to find out more. I hope you enjoy the read - please leave any feedback below. 17. https://xrphodor.wordpress.com/2017/07/18/future-proof-your-portfolio-with-xrp/ This is my latest blog entry. A lot of crypto investors don't really think beyond a small "play" on Polo where they try to cash in on a hot crypto that's "going parabolic". But if you're looking to make an investment that has the most future potential, you have to see entire future trends and markets well ahead of time, like Ripple tends to do with uncanny accuracy, in my opinion. Let me know if you agree / disagree, and feel free to share as much as you like! 18. https://xrphodor.wordpress.com/2017/07/16/xrp-the-power-of-focus/ Other crypto-currencies jump at any chance for marketing themselves, while Ripple keeps the focus squarely on its end-game: doing international payments and RTGS better than SWIFT. 19. Chalk it up to my over-enthusiasm. I'm an adult enough to know when I made a mistake. In part one of "Master of Use Cases" I think I went in the wrong direction: I covered ALL POSSIBLE use cases for an immutable distributed ledger, which is what the RCL can provide along with XRP. This approach was kind of like saying "what are all the things that money can be used for if it's also a place where you can permanently write information?" And the list that resulted was very long indeed. But then i watched the round table discussion with Miguel Vias from the final day of Consensus 2017, where he was describing the main use case(s) for XRP, and I was struck by his approach. He boiled it all down to two use cases, one in his introduction of XRP, and broader one in his description of the primary use case. Miguel's Introduction: Miguel's Description of XRP's primary use case: (Source: *https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiNDDWZs0b4* ) So let's just focus in on one, and see how big "cross-border payments" and "value transfer across borders" is. All We Need is ONE Use Case How Big is Value Transfer Across Borders? Let's narrow our focus further to just where the SWIFT organization of banks does the lion's share of value transfer across borders. SWIFT takes days to transfer any significant sums across borders. Now we have a new method (RCL, XRP, and ILP) that can do it in seconds. Current volume with SWIFT: According to this document (source: https://www.fincen.gov/sites/default/files/shared/Appendix_D.pdf ) from the US Treasury, SWIFT handles about $5 trillion per day, or given about 250 business days per year, about $1.25 quadrillion dollars a year. Investopedia already acknowledges Ripple as an alternative to SWIFT. (source: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/personal-finance/050515/how-swift-system-works.asp ) XRP in this scenario would be used for account activation, and most likely as a no-counter-party risk bridge currency. The amounts of XRP utilized for these purposes would be massive. Ripple recently hired two former SWIFT senior leaders, and is obviously targeting this market. Even if only a small part of the pie goes to Ripple, we're looking at huge usage of XRP and the RCL network. Starting to be convinced that you made the right decision? You should be...
  20. For a long time now, XRP fans have been struggling with the fact that XRP is not the top of the list. Despite being clearly better in every measurable metric for a crypto-currency, XRP is ranked either second or third on the list in terms of market capitalization. We've dealt with this underdog status with a combination of humor and frustration. And for more than a short time, Ripple had to precisely execute their business plan like a model Silicon valley start-up, not one of those fly-by-night ICOs that we hear so much about now-a-days. One of my favorite quotes from Miguel Vias is that Ripple "doesn't have any gold toilets." He was talking about these same ICOs that are pulling in so much money from inept investors. (source: __https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiNDDWZs0b4__) No, Ripple was different, and much more self-disciplined - almost Spartan? They operated lean, carefully choosing where and when to place their resources and their efforts, not afraid to change course when it meant getting results in a specific area. This is the mark of a well-led company, that can navigate through completely uncharted waters in a landscape filled with danger. They were short on cash... always? I'm just guessing, but 2013 and 2014 must not have been easy for Chris Larsen and company. They endured, however... they persisted... and now here we are! 2017: The Underdog Takes the Stage Ripple has continued to impress the market and even their staunchest critics over at bitcoinland with their continued critical wins in every category that matters. The Inter-ledger protocol (ILP), The Ripple Consensus Ledger (RCL), and the digital asset / cryptocurrency (XRP) have proven to be a very formidable combination that no other grouping of technology can beat. (source: https://ripple.com/xrp/) Ripple has made it possible for businesses, financial institutions, banks, central banks, and governmental authorities to participate in the distributed ledger technology revolution, and most importantly, has made it easy for them to do so. The Wonderful Flip Side of Supply Much has been made of the XRP lockup. (source: http://www.coindesk.com/ripple-pledges-lock-14-billion-xrp-cryptocurrency/ ) It will shut off the supply of XRP to minimum levels for years to come, giving the markets a mathematical certainty abut supply. Not only that, but it will use and demonstrate the Escrow functionality within the RCL; escrow is a huge selling point for financial institutions. The XRPChat community debates about the supply of xrp, but we seldom give though to the flip side: just how much cash has Ripple received in 2017 for its off-the-books sale of xrp to financial institutions and market makers? Some of us believe they've sold at a discount. Others of us believe that it must have been sold at a premium. Regardless, the inevitable conclusion is that Ripple (the company) now has enough cash to go in almost any direction they want. This is an epic sea-change. No longer do they have to play underdog to crypto-currencies whose only goal is to make a few founding members wealthy. It's become readily apparent to the larger financial community that Ripple is about payments, and about transforming global payments into a system of three-second transfers, even between fiat currencies and crypto-currencies. It is flexible, fast, and transformative in nature, and it's being adopted worldwide at an alarming pace. Ripple and its technology stack is now an unstoppable force; what will the new headlines say today?
  21. http://www.ibtimes.com/ripple-xrp-news-meet-miguel-vias-cuban-born-idealist-behind-xrp-cryptocurrency-2546427?amp=1 Quoted: "Decentralization includes partnerships with a variety of virtual marketplaces and financial service providers beyond Ripple's ties to banks and corporate clients. Reuters reported Nejc Kodrič, the CEO of one of Europe’s leading bitcoin exchange markets, Bitstamp, said the demand for XRP is particularly strong. “The core center of our strategy is partnering with enterprise grade institutions who have a vested interest in making sure the XRP network is as healthy as possible,” Vias said. “A prime example is our partnership with BitGo.” BitGo’s digital wallet recently added XRP support. “In conjunction with that support, they are also running a node on the network,” Vias said. “Because now part of their business now relies on XRP, they have a vested interest in making sure the network is robust.” Ripple is still focused on payment transfers, first and foremost. But while bitcoin traders are often fiercely anti-capitalist compared to more business-minded XRP users, philosophy still factors into Vias’ vision. “Imagine a world where the price of sending payments is almost zero,” he said. “If you could, I think there are some pretty positive effects something like Ripple could have in terms of the challenges immigrants face.”
