  1. Is Ripple still working on identity related things? One of the exhibitors at Money20/20 offered an authentification service for banks that they said nobody else offers. For example, if you move to a new country and want to open a bank account online, the only way to do it KYC compliantly (they say) is by using their service which verifies a bank account you have in another country by sending 2 small test transactions, like PayPal does. I started wondering what services Ripple offers to FI's. I haven't heard anything about ID in awhile.
  2. Hello fellow hodlers For some the day is near, others need/want to wait, but ultimately some of us will sell our zerps and convert back to fiat. I want to collect some thoughts on this process. The only regulated exchange I know is Bitstamp and apparently they are OK, but I haven't transferred to them amounts beyond five-figure. I've never transferred fiat back from them to my bank either. I understand that nobody with a sane mind will post here and say: "Sure it works, I transferred back and forth a couple of millions of EUR already", but I hope we can share some insights. I know some of the old time hodlers here have become very rich 7-9 figure rich, that is. So, how do you plan on handling the issue? Technically, Bitstamp, and any other fiat accepting exchange are pure exchanges, matching my sell order with buy orders, so they should HAVE my cash, and not just on paper, but in their accounts, since somebody (multiple people) will have bought my XRP. I'm more concerned with the exchanges playing funny games and stuff. I consider this a very serious topic and I don't want any FUDsters posting market cap nonsense. I will cash out $ millions one day and so please stay away if you have nothing practical and applicable to contribute. How will you people handle this? Also: Bitstamp told me they'll ask fore "additional info", should they need to make a large payment. When I asked what kind of info, they refused to tell me. Has anybody been subject to their additional due diligence yet? Thank you.
  3. How will current hodlers of #XRP be able to legally redeem their XRP for fiat in the future if there is no valid KYC/AML trail for the 2017/2018-era crypto exchanges which they purchased their XRP from originally? My concern is that fiat Gateways in the future will not accept XRP which does not have a complete KYC documentation trail for each address which it has been held by. Or do the KYC/AML laws only require that the individual / account who wants to buy the fiat IOU's provide KYC information about themselves to that Gateway? Thanks for any help in better understanding this. https://ripple.com/build/gateway-guide/
  4. I have helped so many wanna be investors in XRP navigate the process some as long ago as 3 weeks. More than one of these guys has an extra $100,000 they plan to throw in and see where it goes. They are still waiting for approval from various exchanges. Kraken, Bitstamp etc. One has restarted the process with lower limits and he's a week into that with no approval yet. Point is, I think we are going to see a lot of new investor activity after the first of the year.....hang on folks this is fun.
  5. A new exchange is set to launch on Nov. 30, 2017. It plans to list BTC, ETH, and XRP. Here is today's press release. Here is the text of the actual letter. If you scroll down USTC's news page, a previous announcement from Oct. 17, 2017 has additional, related info. Excerpt: Want to know more about BlockEx? My take: wait and see. Caveats: LoI (Letter of Intent) only, and OTCMKTS listing for USTC.
  6. How long does Gatehub verification typically take? I've been waiting for 5 days and still nothing.

  8. Hi all Say someone got in early and real cheap in XRP and is sitting now on XRP with a total USD value of say 6 million. 1.How would you liquidate that? (What exchange or gateway?) 2. Wire transfer to bank: How to? NB: not talking about me here obv. I have raised this question on another blog post, but I was basically talking to myself. Any thoughts? Thank you for your inputs.
  9. Hey gang. Just curious if there is any talk about transferring trust/verification details from gateway to gateway. It seems to me that every new gateway or exchange requires an understandably thorough KYC process, but wouldn't it be great if you could get instant verification by proving you are verified elsewhere? I'm not sure if this is naivety or if the competitive aspect is too great for partnership, but it just makes sense to me. When you move to a different state in the US, you don't have to take your driving test over, you just hand over your out of state license and fill out a form for a license in the new state. Every time I verify with a new gateway/exchange it's such a process. Any gateways out there consider this? What obstacles have you faced if so? Just a thought/rant.
  10. Maybe I'm being a tad over-dramatic, but everything about financial institutions sucks right now. Is needing to show "proof of residency" unique to Gatehub, or do all of the Ripple gateways require that? Not everybody is fortunate enough to have a residency... I was going to find somebody with good health insurance to marry really soon. Thank goodness I didn't rush that. I'll also need to make sure they have access to banking.
