  1. I understand that Ripple has done an incredible job establishing connections with banks worldwide but something has occurred to me. The blockchain technology used by Bitcoin is OUTDATED. That being said there are newcomers like Cardano and IOTA which are introducing the so-called "Tangle", in other words, Blockchain 3.0. I would like to know, how much significance is this really? Would it not behoove Ripple to update their blockchain technology as well, or even convert to tangle? I think that the combination of strong connections with banks and other companies, and using the top technology would be great, but it seems Ripple has great business tactics and services, with what is ultimately subpar technology. Do you see what I mean? Ripple trumps other cryptocurrencies in the service they are providing in conjunction with the banks. Nobody is doing that. But Cardano and IOTA clearly have better technology on their hands so....what do you think? Please let me know. Also please share your thoughts on TRON, which is led by Ripples former Chief Representative in Greater China, Justin Sun. There must be some significance there. . .

  3. So I've always found the google trends analysis tool quite interesting. Looks like 'Ripple' is really popular right now, overshadowing all other alts I've compared it to (Litecoin, Ethereum, IOTA, Bitcoin Cash, Stellar, etc) This isn't really an indication of anything, but I it gives one a feeling of optimism seeing it dwarf its close competitors (bitcoin is another story though). Anyway, who am I? Nobody. Why are you listening to me? Who knows. See it for yourself here - https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=ripple,litecoin,ethereum,bitcoin cash, iota The tool allows you to change the search terms you wish to compare, so you can go nuts with any cryptocurrencies.
  4. Not sure about the authenticity but If you go to the following URL and search for some coins. Not all coins give a positive result. Most seem to though. I tried scraping the site but I couldnt find the keywords so perhaps its not hidden but stored in an index/dictionary/etc. on the backend. Anybody have any insight into this?
  5. Just wanted to alert people to some really interesting tech, IOTA, which many of you already know about. I'd like to keep up with what's happening over there so I thought this could be a thread we can add related articles too. I think it's a potential rival to Ripple in some ways, in other ways not so. I find the project really fascinating with great ambitions and scope, and some amazing people on the team. NOTE: I do not own any IOTA tokens, but I would like to; currently seems a bit complicated to get some as it's still in early production. Here's the best intro bits I could find: http://www.iotatoken.com More info: https://medium.com/@DavidSonstebo/iota-97592581f985#.w5vy7hut4 Here is there last "year in review" type blog: https://medium.com/iotatangle/iota-year-in-review-year-in-preview-6de510696e02#.xcj0gajio Some quotes from various sources I found particularly interesting (bold mine): I also asked around on the Slack channel about speed / confirmation time of transactions. I was told the more people use it the faster it potentially goes, and eventually a large-scale network effect means transactions settle in "seconds". So it possibly rivals Ripple/Stellar for speed too, once it's deployed properly. For me it's further interesting because they've got Gideon Samid from BitMint onboard. My "hunch" right now is (and correct me with a cane if I'm off) that IOTA is going to be another testbed for BitMint's idea of tethered (fiat) digital money, or they're working together closely to co-produce something pretty big. So presumably there's a way to issue any token on the IOTA network (tangle), like Ripple issuances, and/or, the network can be forked and changed to accommodate central banks / mints / banks who issue or govern the issuance of fiat currencies. Very interesting if so! Would love to hear you guys' thoughts... RipDig

  7. On Thursday, October 19 Miguel Vias published the Q3 '17 XRP Markets Report. In this blog entry, I review this report and provide my opinion and feedback, as well as some points that XRP Investors should consider. I really enjoyed the changes in the Q3 2017 XRP Markets Report. Hope you enjoy the read & leave any feedback below. As usual, please feel free to share my blog with others or an any other media & thank you for doing so! 10. I don't think this has posted on XRPchat, but it's a nice video that was made by Cambridge U for an IOTA bounty. It's promoting IOTA, but I like that it references Ripple XRP alongside Bitcoin & Ethereum. It has 20K views to date & was selected as one of the winners.
  11. Stumbled across this and found it a good resource for understanding Tangle vs Blockchain. Warning - audio levels are pretty inconsistent
