I have found a way to escrow a currency in a trustline. This method can only escrow 1 currency, if you want to escrow more currencies on the same account, add 2 more XRP for each currency. 1. Fund a new XRP account using exactly (base reserve) + 3 XRP 2. Add the trustline which you want to escrow its currency 3. Send the amount of currency that you want to escrow over to the newly funded account 4. Disable receiving XRP 5. Escrow ALL the excess XRP There ya go, you cant access any XRP and cant receive any XRP which results in you unable to access the currency until the XRP escrow ends since you don't have any XRP to fund the transaction. There is no going back until the escrow finished so be careful, most trustlines are scam, beware.

When running rippled on Centos 6 using the yum package, you may encounter this error: Or something to the effect that 1024 file descriptors are available and 4096 were requested from rippled, so it shut down. To fix this error, open /etc/security/limits.conf and at the bottom of the file add: Next, open /etc/sysctl.conf and at the bottom of the file add: Run ulimit -Ha to check if open files has been updated to 10240, such as: Execute service rippled start and it should operate correctly. -
Hello, I am new to Ripple and thought the best (easiest) place to get started would be Gatehub. However, the whole process is very confusing and unclear, and I am not sure exactly how it works and how long it takes; I apologize in advance as I understand similar questions might have already been asked, but still could not make sense of it. First of all, how does the 20XRP minimum requirement work, and how can I start trading XRP if I need XRP to start trading? Secondly, I already own BTC and thought I would transfer them over so that I keep everything in one place. Also figured I could then use those BTC to buy the initial 20XRP required. However, when I click on the "Deposit/Receive" link in the picture below Nothing happens, as my browser (tried with both Internet Explorer and Chrome) gets stuck on the page below Has this happened to anyone else before? Is it a technical issue caused by something on my end, or could it be due to activation issues on Gatehub's side? Thanks everyone!
