  1. Hello ALL taking time out of your day to guide me, Yesterday I tried to help my Dad get his XRP off of Uphold and onto his Ledger Nano X I got him for Christmas I made the unfortunate mistake of using Microsoft Edge instead of Google Chrome -- which I normally use -- I typed in "Ledger" into the browsers search engine (Bing) and the first result to pop up is start-ledger.com I was in a rush and didn't realize it is a cloned website in relation to the ledger.com website. I incidentally installed a fake Ledger 1.1.0 Software and typed in my 24 Character phrase and :30 minutes later, -40k XRP sent to a wallet I've never seen before. Details: The transaction was successful and validated in the ledger #77014292 (index: 29). E3754EC82B8F9093021288925D8BB2A55BFDE33F26566D5586D5881B0D110BB2 Sequence number: #64814666 my compromised wallet: rLCjo1RJF7fmHbik6DgPpb2MozMninpXyA Scammer wallet: rHtxXTQSfvzwJK6SjwRW2G2yZtSkAfbKSj I filed a police report and filed a report on XRPlorer.com/forensics Is there anything else I can do? What are the chances I get these funds back? I've been saving for 2 years religiously and hate that I was fooled so easily by a Bing Search Engine SEO Scam being ranked at the top of search results. I also found a .json "LedgerLiveLog" file on my computer that was created minutes after realizing this had happened to my account. It won't let me post it here, but I can copy and paste the text within (opened with Visual Studio Code) PLEASE HELP

  3. I have a very specific question about capital gains taxes and potential gifting tax. I was hoping I could get an answer here. I want to give the background of everything before I ask the question. In November and December of 2020 and January 2021, I bought (A VERY BIG AMOUNT) XRP on the only crypto exchange offered in New York, Coinbase. As a result of the lawsuit, the exchange, Coinbase, halted all trading on it. However, I was still able to hold all of my XRP on the exchange to withdraw it. Since I was living in NY at the time, I only had access to the only exchange available to NY residents, Coinbase. I needed to move it to a place where I could sell it. One of my family members in another state was able to sign up for Uphold, so I sent all my XRP to that family member. The concern I have is that I dont know whether if my family member will be liable for the taxation. I bought it all with my own money on Coinbase and sent it to Uphold exchange account that is under the family member's name. When I bought the XRP, Coinbase had the record of me buying it tied in with my SSN and ID. When I sent the XRP to my family member, the only thing submitted was the ID, but not the SSN. I have done NO trades (buying or selling) onto his account. I only withdrawn my XRP from Coinbase to Deposit into Uphold. So my question is this: If I sell my XRP under my family member's exchange account... who’s liable for the taxation? If my family is liable for the taxes, I want to withdraw my XRP out of that account. It's a heft amount. I was also concerned that it might be considered a gift. If I retrieve it back to my wallet with no trades on it... will it still be liable for the gift tax? Essentially I'm just returning my asset back to me. Thanks everybody. Enjoy the moon ride
  4. https://xrpscan.com/account/rJyDx6RL73qycjoAukQbAvNRFvQ3ZQtqWb Ive hit a wall with Spend.com. Ive been wanting to move my XRP to a hardware wallet. Every time gets me a failed notice. All failed transactions have no transaction hash ID. Lived chatted with spend support. “We noticed the problem recently and our texts are on it. We will email you when the problem is fixed.” They “dont know” when it will be fix. They ignore if I press it. On twitter, I’m being silence. I know they are others bc on almost all deposits in, spend re-redeposit into A Binance account. Is this legal? If it is legal, how? Thank you for reading my problem.

  6. Hello I am trying to prepare for the flare fork with my xrp and nano. I created a MEW and did all the steps on XRPtoolkit, I got my "message key" but when I go to add that to account properties on XRPtoolkit, it says "invalid hash" meaning I cant complete it. Been goolging and trying for over 3 hours. Does anyone know what this message means or how to fix it? I have DMed the staff on Twitter but really would like to fix this
  7. Hi there, first post here. I opened a Ripple client account back in 2012/13. I wrote down everything i was told, account password, account name and secret account key. I was told that these details were very important, and i would need them if i ever needed to recover my wallet or account. All of these details i still have. I considered my investment in Ripple to be long term, so in that respect, i was not going to constantly keep track of it. I cannot remember the exact amount, but there are approx. 3000 XRP tokens in this account. Time went on, and i apparently missed the window for migrating to Ripple Trade, but knew i could still migrate to GateHub. So, safe in the knowledge i had the correct details, i signed up with GateHub and tried to migrate my account. To my HORROR(!), it said my secret key was INVALID!! I then did a Google, and it turns out others seem to be having similar difficulties. I have since tried several other means to recover the wallet, including the old Ripple Trade. It says 'Unable to recover account user does not exist'. I have tried opening new wallets and importing the secret key, but it still says the secret key is invalid. I have learned that the secret key begins with an 's' and is 29 characters long. I can tell you that MINE is 'ss' and 29 characters long. All are legal characters, i checked. I am absolutely sure i wrote it down correctly, as i wrote it down in three seperate places, all of them correspond. How can this be? I did everything correct, and now i would like access to my XRP. I am awaiting to hear from Ripple support. I would very much appreciate any assistance the community can give.

  9. I would like to create an ATM machine that accepts Fiat converts it into crypto using the decentralized exchange but I don't know anything about coding .Iwas wondering where I should start. I don't have money to fund it it's a passion project. I went to a Bitcoin ATM machine they had $100 premium on bitcoin plus $11 fee I don't see why you couldn't make a basically free crypto ATM machine that charged $3.75 per transaction. Any thoughts are appreciated
  10. Hello everyone, I am hesitant to make this post as i know i will kop a lot of hate but I have exhausted all options. Ill try to keep the story short. My old man has invested into ripple and has been a long term holder since June buying chunks of XRP when he can. He absolutely loves the project and doesn't stop talking about it. Today he came in pale as a sheep and said that his funds have gone he had about 12400 XRP all up. He was storing his ripple on a rippex wallet, which after doing some reading has stopped running its services. I dont think this would affect the balance of his account and looking at the transactions it looks like he may of been hacked :( this is his old address rDgrKAmfs5b3MusVk3aqRj8t6LyK6XnUHv. What makes it worse was these transactions happened back in June and while ripple had its run he was so excited for the future. He was literally unaware of what happened cause he's a hodler. Can any of you to help him reclaim his xrp from the hacker (we have contacted theft report and the binance and kraken exchange to where these funds had been sent). Binance have pretty much said meh we can't do anything until the authorities are involved. I have created a wallet for him on Toast (heard its a good one thoughts?). I am going to send him some of my XRP if no one has any better options on trying to recover his funds. His address is rL1R3kedKh94RQs1VmGdeUNBbqSAHH6GtP if anyone is feeling kind enough to help. Of course you don't have to and i can understand that some of you may be offended for me to ask this of you. But otherwise, any advice is extremely welcome I just want to get his xrp back! MUCH LOVE <3<3<3
  11. Greetings all XRP forum members, First of all, If I have added this topic in the improper section, please excuse me! Second, my concern and intention of posting this: I intend to buy XRP and deliver it to a toast wallet but I have no solution at the moment to activate the toast wallet by sending just 20 XRP as I have none at the moment and, after the purchase, the service will deliver the full amount when requiring the destination wallet. In this sense, I am very concerned that if I make my purchase, and go along with the process and end up at the wallet transfer step, if I send it to my non-active fresh (empty) toast wallet it will actually go nowhere and the investment will be lost. If the community has had experience with this issue or have actually went through this process (from coinmama to xrp toast wallet), please share and if possible please provide a course of action that I can take regarding my predicament.... Thank you all!

  13. Hello all. I apologize in advance if this question is in the wrong place or repetitive...I'm new and, frankly, not really sure where to put this question in the context of the available topics. (I created this topic in Marketplace awhile ago and it didn't get any replies...maybe the wrong place to post it?) So I've experimented by buying a basket of IOU's representing different currencies and even bitcoin by using https://www.theworldexchange.net ledger interface, and now I have them just sitting in my XRP wallet. So I understand obviously how to send XRP from wallets to exchanges and such, that's simple...but I don't see any option for these IOU's. I see each has its' own unique address that I assume I could send to, and I guess that's another question. Exchanges: Which ones support and will redeem IOU's representing Dollars, Yen or Bitcoin for example? How can I send these IOU's properly from wallet to wallet? How will I know what addresses to use? How will I know they will be "honored" by the exchange? Is there anything special I need to do with the destination tag or invoice ID? If I send real bitcoin to an IOU address, or IOU Bitcoin to a real address, will the ledger understand what to do, or would that get me screwed? (Not that I want to use Bitcoin, but this is for science.) If the question is repetitive I hope you'll be gentle with me and guide me to the proper resources. Thanks in advance!
  14. Hello all, My name is Daniel. I am launching a new podcast, The Crypto Bubble Podcast, in the near future. The podcast will cover cryptocurrency news, topics, reviews of coins, and interviews with smart people involved with blockchain. I am writing to ask for some help from the knowledgeable members of this group. As part of the show each show each week, we will be reviewing a coin based on 5 attributes: Use case, scalability and speed, sustainability, liquidity, and decentralization. I am going to feature XRP as the coin of the week in the very first episode. I have a series of questions that I need help finding the answers to, and instead of doing all the research myself (and probably screwing up and misrepresenting XRP on the podcast) I am coming here for some answers. Please feel free to provide answers to as many of these questions as you feel qualified to answer. And please please please cite a source(s) for your answers. I need to be confident what I say about XRP is correct, so citing sources is really important. I hope as a community I can get answers to all these questions. Use case: 1. What problem is XRP solving? 2. How big (in USD) is the problem that XRP is solving? 3. What progress has already been made in solving this problem? 4. What are the important features of the XRP blockchain help solve the problem? 5. Who are the competitors that are also attempting to solve this problem? Scalability and speed: 6. Consensus type (POW, POS, etc.)? 7. Max on-chain transactions per second? 8. How long does it typically take to settle a transaction with finality? Sustainability: 9. Is there a group, foundation, or company that is involved in the promotion, development, oversight, and/or improvement of the XRP blockchain? How does this work? 10. If there is a group, foundation, or company that is involved, how are they funded? 11. How many people are employed by the group, foundation, or company that is involved? 12. What is the process for changing and improving the XRP blockchain? 13. Are there mandatory or voluntary transaction costs? If so, what is purpose of the transaction fees and where do they go once collected? 14. Are there any risks that specifically threaten the success of the XRP blockchain (not talking about broader risks that threaten all blockchains)? Liquidity: 15. Average number of transactions per 24 hours over the week March 11 through March 17th, 2018? 16. Average number of transactions per 24 hours over the past 30 days from February 15th through March 17th, 2018? 17. Average number of transactions per 24 hours over the past 90 days from December 17th through March 17th, 2018? 18. Average dollars worth of XRP transacted per 24 hours over the week March 11 through March 17th, 2018? 19. Average dollars worth of XRP transacted per 24 hours over the past 30 days from February 15th through March 17th, 2018? 20. Average dollars worth of XRP transacted per 24 hours over the past 90 days from December 17th through March 17th, 2018? 21. What are the maximum number of coins XRP coins? 22. How many XRP coins are currently in circulation? 23. How centralized is the XRP supply? Decentralization: 24. How many validatating nodes currently exist? 25. How are validating node operators incentivized to participate in the network? 26. Are the validating nodes geographically decentralized? Is there a graphic that shows the locations of the validating nodes? 27. Can anyone run a validating node? In other words, is the network of nodes permissioned, semi-permissioned, or permissionless? I know I am asking a lot to have all of this answered, but I promise your efforts will be rewarded with an accurate representation of XRP. Thank you all in advance!
  15. I have 10 btc on the old btc2ripple address, I have all the details but how to i access it using gatehub please?!
  16. So let me start by saying that I have been a member on here for months but I lost my pw so I just made a new account. I read most threads and I am a RIPPLE Supporter til the end! I have alot and I am team Hodl! I have a question about the market cap that needs to be cleared up.... I'm reading that it would be almost impossible for ripple to reach 50 cause it's market cap would be bigger than btc and etherirum combined what do you think??? People have all different opinions when it comes to market cap... Can someone explain it, and please dont say some bs like "ppl said that at 20 cents and look at us now" I want a real answer Thanks Go Ripple
  17. Hey guys; Anyone who goes on Twitter, even a little, knows that account impersonation is an incredibly big issue plaguing the platform. These accounts usually try to trick people into sending them XRP with the promise they'll receive more in return. Brad even felt the need to make a tweet on the issue, seen below. I've reported a few of the fake accounts, and actually received verification today from Twitter that two of those accounts were successfully found to be breaching the rules. Essentially the point of this thread is to tell people you can make a difference! If you see a fake account, please report it! It will benefit Ripple and it's employees, but that in turn benefits your investment in them. -retryW
  18. I know that gatehub need at least 50 xrp to active the account, but if i want to send all the xrp from gatehub to binance, what should i do??Can i do that???
  19. i bought some bitcoin in coinbase andi sent to my gatehub account but it need at least 20 xrp to active the account to get my btc so now my btc stuck ,Can anyone can help me please..... ripple address:*****
  20. I am trying to understand the why the address and destination tag. Do we have our own address? Or is the destination tag the only thing unique. Reason I ask is I withdrew XRP from an exchange and it never showed. I look up the address it gave to deposit and it says it has 359,000 XRP in it. They have stated they had server crashes which I believe and that there is a huge back log they are trying to sort out. I am simply trying to figure out If I will ever see my money again, and if I was scammed.
  21. Hi guys, I need help PLEASE. I cannot transfer funds out of my Ripple wallet. I am trying to transfer Ripple out of the iPhone Toast wallet app and every time I get to the first screen and select the account I am sending it to and type in the tag number and the amount of Ripple I am sending and click Pay, it comes up with an error saying that it appears that I have not deposited the initial 20XRP it requires, I have like 40XRP in there?? It then has a button to continue, so I click that. It then asks me to enter my passphrase which I do successfully and then it comes up with an Error saying that it's most likely due to a lack of funds in the account, or this error can also be caused by an invalid or not activated destination address or if the Ripple Network is overload. Now I have tried to send it to 5 different wallets on different exchanges, I have definitely got over 800XRP in that account and I have tried doing the backup thing and typing my secret long *** code in that it gave me when I first got it. Can someone please give me advice on what to do, Am I doing something wrong or is the network genuinely congested?? I read in one article that you can confirm if your wallet is activated or valid, I typed my XRP address into it and it said it was activated on one out of the 4 different coding screen which I didn't understand. Can you guys please please help me out!!! My ripple wallet is rNHFwDFgXGmQUXjVCNN8UKsbm87W4TBtCv Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!
  22. Hello, I am new to Ripple and thought the best (easiest) place to get started would be Gatehub. However, the whole process is very confusing and unclear, and I am not sure exactly how it works and how long it takes; I apologize in advance as I understand similar questions might have already been asked, but still could not make sense of it. First of all, how does the 20XRP minimum requirement work, and how can I start trading XRP if I need XRP to start trading? Secondly, I already own BTC and thought I would transfer them over so that I keep everything in one place. Also figured I could then use those BTC to buy the initial 20XRP required. However, when I click on the "Deposit/Receive" link in the picture below Nothing happens, as my browser (tried with both Internet Explorer and Chrome) gets stuck on the page below Has this happened to anyone else before? Is it a technical issue caused by something on my end, or could it be due to activation issues on Gatehub's side? Thanks everyone!
  23. @gatehub Help can't signin tested ecovery password and no email received
