I have been working on building a gateway for my company some weeks now. This is my first experience working/building on the XRPL and I have read quite a number of related docs (Issuing Currency and Decentralised Exchange) which are interesting and understandable. What my company wants to do in essence is to create a naira (Nigeria Currency) stablecoin that pegs to a particular rate to USD (450 to USD). What we are trying to do is similar to the existing Gatehub USD and EUR token on the XRPL. One of the things I have done over time is creating a test token using the XUMM App but I am skeptical about some few things. My questions are: What do you advise as the best structure or architecture to building this? Would we create a token first? As an Issuing Gateway, what are things you think or you could advise we do programmatically except just creating a token? Though I have understood quite some things, I think hearing from your experience would save a lot of time and errors. Another thing I am skeptical about is how the architecture and structure of what we are building. I know there are more experience on developers here, I need a guide on how to achieve this. I would appreciate if the community members can help. Thank you.

Hi guys Am fairly new to XRP - at least in terms of understanding use cases. I am slowly reading reading through the articles on https://xrpl.org/. I have a question about gateways. I'm trying to work out the benefits of owning a gateway. Let's assume we have 2 users, John (UK) who is sending money to Jane (Nigeria). I understand that John needs to exchange money into XRP and then transfer to the recipient, but not very clear on the following: Who sets the exchange rate for John? Or, how does a gateway set this (assuming I owned one) Similarly, how does Jane get Nigerian currency on her end? If there's any links / docs that explain this in an easier manner, that'd be awesome! TIA!

Hi. Recently I started learning about XRP ledger and reading the documentation I found this line from the Default Paths section: I'd like to someone explain me the reason behind this statement. I guess that if a gateway A (an issuer) wants to get access to the on demand liquidity that other gateways (supposing they allow ripple) could provide, there are two options to accomplish that. Create trust lines directly to those gateways. Wait until an account create trust lines (maybe indirectly through an offer) with those gateways and with gateway A. It seems to me options 2 is out of gateways A control since it cannot force other accounts (I'm thinking about customers from the gateway A perspective) to create trust lines with other gateways and the better they can do is provide a sort of list of gateways for the accounts to choose from, but it'll be a more complex and extra step process. Also if the account decide to (or have) disable ripple, you won't get access to the other gateway on demand liquidity right? Maybe there are more ways to get access to other market on demand liquidity and I'm not seen it?

Recently I find a new blockchain which is called Ultiledger. And it's founder is Ripplefox's founder named Liang Ran. Ultiledger is a new project starting on September 19, 2018, with the goal of creating a financial chain. It is distributed in the form of ERC-20. The principle is similar to Ripple in that it can issue assets and transfer assets. The team is strong and is also a group of people who know Ripple in China. Unlike other projects from China, this project has done a lot of implementation work. In the past year, a number of companies have reached cooperation agreements, including cooperation with government. A project that has been in China for more than a year, from the earliest 0.006 USD to the current 0.028 USD. You can pay attention. the website is https://ultiledger.io, the token can be found on cointiger and coinex exchange. The ULT can also be found on Ripple, it is issued by ripplefox gateway. A lot of people now trading it. However, they deposit/withdraw manually.

Ever since I rejoined the forums, I sometimes get private messages in regards to forming a new CAD gateway. In this thread, I am asking the community to provide some suggestions and feedback to determine if a new gateway is feasible. I was asked if I would perhaps perform a crowd funding round from the XRPchat community to bootstrap a new Gateway, which I will touch on later. The first thing that I would need to do is set up a new issuer, requiring about 500 XRP to cover OwnerCount objects in the ledger from trust-lines and to activate new ripple accounts who are coming to the Gateway in addition to providing some small amount of XRP to the market making account to cover the major order-books so that payments can find paths. Second, I already have a domain name registered until 2023 and I have the ability to host a website via shared hosting on the monthly basis but this means I will not be able to host an instance of rippled as I will not have enough resources to run it on the package I have available. Third, I would require capital to purchase silver for remittance over the RCL, as all of my gateways in the past have been focused on cryptos, fiat, and precious metals with precious metals being the focal asset class offering for all of my Ripple Gateways to date. This would be about another 600$CAD (or more) so that I could purchase a tube of silver rounds for remittance. As for crowd funding to jump-start a new Gateway, if the official forums were still up, I could point all of you to the postings in which I mention the crowd funding rounds that I already completed in the past via the NXT blockchain. The major problem with a crowd funding round is how do I provide value to the backers of the crowd fund? At first the NXT asset was providing 45% of the profits derived from the gateway calculated in NXT then shared to the XAGATE asset holders on that blockchain using their pay dividends function but I was still the majority share holder of the assets so I was receiving 51% of the dividends paid as a kickback for not selling my company's equity so easily (I forget the price per asset but it was set pretty low). With all of this being said and done, I invite you to take a look at https://streetsofsilver.website to view the fee schedule this Ripple Gateway will launch with. Please note that USD withdrawals will be done via wire transfer and that is why the withdrawal fee is set so high; If I am able to find a way to reduce this overhead I will be able to reduce the fee drastically when/if this Gateway launches. That is all for now folks, please, provide me with your suggestions and feedback as to how I may be able to provide some value to the interested parties who may want to crowd-fund this project! EDIT: Someone pointed out via PM that the deposit fee for Ethereum on the site was listed as 0.1 ETH per deposit which is a preposterous amount, the actual deposit fee is 0.01 ETH, that was a typo.

Hi guys. Do you think its Facebook that may be in line for partnerships with Ripple as they recently hired the big marketing guy from facebook and Ripple has history/trend of hiring people from companies that become partners in future, example Miguel from CME, lots of ex government employees etc. http://markets.businessinsider.com/currencies/news/ripple-hires-facebook-communications-manager-2017-12-1011580387

Hi All, Since it's very limited what information FIs are releasing as regards to xRapid/XRP i decided to use LinkedIn to reach out to some of them. I got this answer: "Being a Ripple Gateway is too expensive." While this is the responce of one person/bank, it's actually quite valid. You could argue that there is no need for FIs to run gateways themselves, but currently that only leaves them with one option: Using unregulated exchanges, and that is not likely to happen. This is why regulation could actually be a good long term change. Ripple Gateways: https://ripple.com/build/gateway-guide/ I will keep you posted if i'm lucky enough to hear from even more people.

Excuse me, I am sorry, I apologize, but I have been attempting to set up a Gatehub Fifth USD Gateway for the past month. I believe my account has been verified, as I sent in the proper paperwork over a month ago and received a verification conformation email. I have contacted gatehub support numerous times to no avail. I understand that their has been an influx of new registrations, but being that I sent the paperwork on Nov. 28, I would have expected to be able to use this feature by now. Can you please explain how to properly set the USD trust and link an international account as to properly deposit/withdraw USD directly from my wallet? Thank you, Lazarus 372

HI Guys. I am not sure if its already posted here, and if it is I could not find it, but I am sure all of us can use some good news today. IG group /IG markets from UK (which is big in UK ) has started CFD options on Ripple. You can not buy it to store but it does let you hedge your positions which is going to be important for banks as they need some trustworthy market place to hedge bets even if they are transferring funds for short time. IG is big group they listen on LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE with the value of 393 million pounds. Please find the paragraph below for details and link with their details. In May 2005, after two years of private ownership, IG Group and CVC Capital Partners re-floated the company on the main list of the London Stock Exchange with a valuation of £393 million.[6] In October 2008, IG Group acquired FXOnline Japan KK, a Japanese retail FX business.[7] IG Group has been trying to gain access to the potentially lucrative US market where IG Group's main products, contracts for difference and financial spread betting, are currently not legal. In 2007, it purchased HedgeStreet, a small US based company that developed an electronic marketplace that allows online retail investors to trade financial derivatives. It renamed this the North American Derivatives Exchange or (NADEX) and has been attempting to use this to develop a product that looks like its binary option "digital 100s" product but that meets the US financial regulations and can be offered to retail traders. In May 2010, it obtained permission from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission to make various technical changes that move in that direction. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IG_Group They have only listed only few reputed coins and luckily Ripple is one of them. I have used IG markets for CFD trading 5 years ago and their support is awesome and Ripple getting listed there is a good sign, as I was trading forex when they listed BTC and few months after their listing, BTC picked up, of course not because IG markets only but what i mean is that they seem to be one of those exchanges who would only launch products with upside potential in near term so HODL guys and hope for the best in this speculative market.

Hi guys. Just wondering If you could let me help with step by step procedure of connecting bitstamp gateway on gatehub. I have activated my account at gatehub and using gatehub to buy xrp but I have found gatehub gateway is more expensive if you want to buy xrp than bitstamp for example now if I buy in gatehub market in gatehub account price is .005250 for xrp usd how ever in bitstamp market in same gatehub account it shows xrp/usd price =.005089 which can be a huge difference if you are buying and selling quantity. I got balance in my ripple wallet and primary wallet but when I go to bitstamp market it does not show USD balance it only shows XRP balance. Please let me know how to transfer my USD balance to bitstamp so that I can buy XRP from there.

Hi Guys, I tried to login to my gatehub account to see if everything is good, but when logged it, it just kept loading, i could see the balance but could not go th exchange, trade etc as it would just keep loading. I am just worried that had i wanted to sell, i would not have been able to do so, and what if that happens again...? because its not the first time it has happend with Gatehub, specially when xrp is up, you want to trade, not listen to the excuse that site is down because of extra traffic etc etc. I think its high time and gatehub should pick up their game.

I dont know if it has been posted already but there has been an agreement between SBI VC and China huobi and it seems to me the all pieces of puzzles are coming together with more and more countries joining the game, and ultimately will help XRP being SBI's major partner. Hello all, Has anyone used coinpayments for anything? If so what? I'm not sure what the use is because I haven't seen that many xrp related sites that sell anything so wondered what was out there. If you have used it then anyone know why it takes 30 mins to settle xrp rather than 30 seconds? Thanks.

When will an exchange open up with XRP as the gateway coin the way BTC is now? With its claim as the fastest coin on the market, is seems like a no brainer. If there were an exchange where every coin flowed into and out of xrp it would give it an extremely obvious and immediate use case. Last year when SBI partnered with Kraken https://news.bitcoin.com/sbi-kraken-announce-multi-million-dollar-deal/ and then announced that it was opening an exchange https://www.coindesk.com/sbi-first-bank-backed-digital-currency-exchange/ I thought for sure that because of SBI Ripple Asia... that an XRP based exchange was exactly what was about to happen. It makes too much sense.... and yet, no news. Does anyone have any articles that point to this happening at some point or give a timeline to that kind of liquidity boost?

hello I'm very new to cryptocurrency and i just wanted to start investing because it seemed interesting. The first mistake that i have done is that i transferred few bitcoins to gatehub's hosted wallet hoping that i could later exchange them for ripples. My main intention was to buy new ripples and watch if they could really grow into something big. But I'm unable to transfer as i got the error " Wallet not on vault" when i tried to transfer btc from hosted wallet to ripple wallet. I have two questions. Is this because my account is not verified and thus i dont have btc gateway to my ripple wallet and thus i cannot deposit btc directly into it for xrp ? or else is it just that my ripple wallet is not funded with "20" xrp and thus its not activated ? Will i be able to transfer my btc in hosted wallet to my ripple wallet after i get activated ? If its all about non-activated account I would be very thankful if someone helped me out by activating my ripple wallet . Please help me through to get my bitcoins out of it as they are charging way too high for btc transfers to other wallet. If you could send me 25 xrp to my wallet, please message me their ripple address . ill refund them with 35 xrp. you can report me if I dont do so. sorry for the long post . and here is my ripple address. rU1o7gnGTQbYULk6USEcgArP6ygtMMd3Bx Ram Abhilash thanks in advance, ram

Hi Guys, I have been into Ripple for few years but I am "Dinosaur" from technology point of view so need help with following questions, if you know the answers, any help would be greatly appreciated. how safe are cold wallets, and can one be sure of safety and security of cold wallets ( no offence to developer) as developer would know all the loopholes and may have access to security key, same issue with ledger s nano..? if your cold wallet stops working out of the blue, and the person managing it disappears, whats gonna happen to the funds..?
