Dear XRPERS On December 12 my XRP were on the XRP Ledger and a cold paper wallet. After 4 days of trying to find out how to register for my drop I am seeking help (something my wife has been encouraging me to do for years). All the "advice" assumes it was in a wallet BUT the address was just on a piece of paper and on the XRPL. Can anyone help please?

Some of us are very hesitant to expose our private keys to ANY app, even XUMM. Some avoid even using their secret key on a device connected to the Internet (not air-gapped). This post is for you. Anyone else will be bored or reading this will be a waste of your time PROBLEM: How to safely modify our XRPL account's message header to claim the free tokens ? Answer: Use a "burner" ie. temporary XRPL account for the claiming event of June 2021 Method steps: Generate and activate a new XRPL account (costs 20 XRP, some can be returned when done) Transfer all your of original account's XRP to this new account Wait till after 12DEC, then transfer it back to your original account Sometime before June 2021, use any tool (eg. XUMM, XRPTools, etc) to set the new (empty acnt) message header (claims Flare) At some point, you will no longer need the new account, and you may delete it and reclaim some of your activating XRP With these steps, there is no exposing of your private key associated with an account holding your precious stack to any tool you use to set the message. LMK if I've missed something, or you have additional suggestions or questions. Cheers, and always maintain a disaster recovery method for your keys in the event of the worst case scenario !!
