The title alone should provoke you to HODL. 1913 was an incredible year. The Titanic sank like a Michael Jordan slam dunk the year before. Theories including a counterfeit Titanic The Federal Reserve Act was voted into Congress while many were on Christmas break. Federal Reserve Notes are still flying off the press more so today than ever before. Maybe, (and I'm crossing my fingers) will change its ways and use a currency that cannot be counterfeited. I speculate that under Donald Trump, it will become a reality and anyone holding XRP will become "The Reserve". I have a dream that I'm dreaming and it's lucid What are your thoughts on the Federal Reserve adopting XRP? I'm all out of aluminum foil. Got any?

the Federal Reserve established the faster payments task force in 2015 to create a new solution to be in effect by 2020. They held a contest for the best idea and there were over thirty applicants. The list was scrubbed down to 16 because the others did not meet criteria. In case you have your doubts, please visit the site yourself https://fasterpaymentstaskforce.org/ you can read for hours. I looked up each of the 16 finalists and I have to say there really isn't any competition in concept or execution. It is hard to imagine something you have never seen before, and it is hard to hold on to success. I do not think anybody realizes how quickly the world can change.

Instead of building another walled garden, Ripple has chosen to connect the world's payment systems together. They will succeed with XRP and ILP working together! In this blog entry, I discuss what some have come to realize intuitively; that Ripple has a visionary strategy compared to other competitors (like R3, e.g.) Instead of building an island where everybody has to jump on, they enable banks to continue using their own preferred ledgers and integrating with ILP. If banks then wish to save even more money, Ripple is now nearing the point when those banks can flip a switch and start adding XRP liquidity. I discuss those points in the blog; Hope you enjoy the read & as always, please feel free to share on any other media (and thank you in advance for doing so!) Following the mystery live has been quite an exciting experience. I love the rare show of showmanship from the ripple team. I am a bit worried that the announcement could disappoint our high hopes. So, what do you think the big announcement will be? 1. Korea. First of all, the symbol in Ripple's latest tweets has been presumed by some to look like a horizontal outline of North and South Korea on a map. Unless they have plans to unify the countries, I'm not sure why they would include North Korea. But there have been persistent rumors of a ripple - Kakao partnership. 2. SBI. If it's going live, that's great. But don't we already know that's coming? 3. Federal Reserve. Since the report by the Federal Reserve Task Force on faster payments said they would let the market decide what system is adopted, I doubt they've made a concrete decision about anything yet. 4. The Bank of England. I'm honestly not sure how big of an impact this would be. I'm assuming large. 5. A Conference. This would ultimately be the most disappointing. Well if there's something I left out that you think might happen, let me know.

(and then read my blog!) I think you will agree with what I have to say! This is my latest blog: It's my response to a paranoid zerohedge opinion piece where I talk about the difference between privacy and anonymity and the benefits of a world currency. This is just confirmation that Ripple in the running, and a chance to check out their direct competition as pertains to this particular area. There are some noteworthy entries, but Ripple is by far and away a market leader. It is worth noting that some of these competitors are openly looking to end BTC.....as crypto investors we would be wise to remember that this party could all be over in one regulatory swipe. Unlikely, yes, but don't put all your eggs in one basket. https://fedpaymentsimprovement.org/faster-payments/capability-showcase/

I'm so used to people complaining about Ripple being regulated at all that it REALLY through me for a loop to hear a suggestion that Ripple isn't regulated enough. The main complaints were: 1. New features cannot automatically be added to the protocol. They can only be proposed. Because development depends on the decisions of users, there is no way to manage risk. 2. Ripple is given "third party vendor" status and is treated like a software because it plugs into existing structures. This shifts the burden of "effective risk management" practices onto FI's. It was suggested that Ripple needs an international forum to supervise the protocol, similar to how NACHA & the Fed govern ACH. The Federal Reserve should be running stress tests and imposing contingency plans in the event of a fork. Thoughts?
