Max Supply: Cardano (ADA) - 45 Billion Stellar (XLM) - 50 Billion Hedera (HBAR) - 50 Billion XDC - 37.5 Billion XRP - 100 Billion (counting drops = 100 quadrillion) Need to Burn excessive XRP for healthier ecosystem: 1. To become decentralized Asset class (Ripple has 6 billion XRP on hands and 47 billions in escrow) 2. To get gradual price increase (scarcity) 3. To decouple from bitcoin price fluctuation (supply and demand) 4. To get more stable price (better for transactions - less spread/slippage) 5. Banks/Entities will buy XRP from holders, or use private/public liquidity pools, in which holders will participate and be rewarded. 6. XRP settles within 3-5 seconds. XRPL can only handle 1,500 TPS, later with upgrade, maybe up to 70,000 TPS. Meaning you would never need more than 53 billion (counting drops 53 quadrillion) of XRP to utilize transactions, because XRPL cannot handle more than 70,000 TPS. And, let's say, $10 per XRP - it's 530 billion (530 quadrillion) -
This is just a general question that's been on my mind... What are the possible insurance industry applications for the XRP Ledger? Crypto in general? I'm thinking escrow opens up a lot of possibilities, as well as the general immutability aspect of a blockchain. Some of my "brainstorm" ideas for insurance generally: Life Insurance: XRP Ledger Escrow for "Traditional Whole Life Policy" Storage of premium payments on the XRP ledger Health Insurance: Storage of premium payments on the XRP ledger Escrow of Insurance payout until all paperwork approved by Insurer Long-Term Disability: Storage of premium payments on the XRP ledger Escrow of Insurance payout until all paperwork approved by Insurer Auto Insurance: Storage of premium payments on the XRP ledger Escrow of Insurance payout until all paperwork approved by Insurer That's my initial brainstorm list, but I know I'm probably missing something. In addition, does usage of blockchain tech allow for entirely new types of insurance instruments? Is a smart contract system better suited for insurance applications? I have found a way to escrow a currency in a trustline. This method can only escrow 1 currency, if you want to escrow more currencies on the same account, add 2 more XRP for each currency. 1. Fund a new XRP account using exactly (base reserve) + 3 XRP 2. Add the trustline which you want to escrow its currency 3. Send the amount of currency that you want to escrow over to the newly funded account 4. Disable receiving XRP 5. Escrow ALL the excess XRP There ya go, you cant access any XRP and cant receive any XRP which results in you unable to access the currency until the XRP escrow ends since you don't have any XRP to fund the transaction. There is no going back until the escrow finished so be careful, most trustlines are scam, beware.

Im wondering what is community take on this? -
Hi guys, I sent some of my xrp from tipbot to Ledger wallet S and X, but I haven't gotten it yet. It says "request error." I tried multiple times and waited, but no luck. I also tried escrow.. but still not working. What should I do?

Hi guys. As you all know, Ripple will release large amount of XRP every month, from the locked Escrow accounts, and put back what's not used or sold. Now what's keeping Ripple from selling those unlocked XRPs in the public exchanges, for revenue and/or keeping the XRP price down? Ripple donating and investing millions must partially come from these XRP sales right? Thanks for helping a dude understand more. Best, HJ -

I have noticed the same issue for EscrowFinish, EscrowCancel etc even for accounts with EscrowCreate transaction. Any issues with the Api because the doc says that we can provide any transaction type.

Recently I've been fascinated by the possibility to escrow assets. Sure all the talk is about the company behind XRP locking up 55 billion xrp however I'm more interested how this can benefit the average Joe. Leaving finances in escrow for 2, 5 or 10 years would be really good for long investors, parents stocking up on their child's college fund. The other option is releasing finances depending on conditions so this is where smart contracts play a role. Personally I want to escrow some coins for the future, and release them at 5% at a time, simply because I have massive faith in the tech but not really interested in the day to day stresses of early adoption phase Has anyone on here used the escrow services or maybe interested in the near future?

The latest application to be built using XRP is something called "Reservoir Lite." It allows users to access and use the escrow functionality of the XRP Ledger for themselves! There have been some posts about secret keys and wallet addresses standing up to quantum computers (I'll make believe here that I actually know what quantum computers are). In one post, if I recall correctly, Joel Katz says that even if it would be a problem in the future, the wallet string can be increased. If XRP are in escrow for 20 years and quantum computers arrive before then, is there some way to secure the destination wallet before the release time?
