Hi all, On the 13th of Oct 2018, someone managed to hack my account on Kraken and sent all my XRP (about 85,000) to a Binance wallet. **** edit **** I've previously reported here the details of the 2 transactions used by the hacker to move the coins, but I've decided to delete them from this post upon suggestion by the moderator **** edit **** I've contacted Binance support on the same day, and I got asked to provide more evidence before they would proceed locking that account, which I promptly did. However, as of today, Binance support team is yet to provide a clear answer on where the XRP are. So far they've only reassured me that they are still working on my case in the attempt to track the stolen funds. Shouldn't they know if the coins are still on their exchange in the frozen account? At the beginning they mentioned the presence of funds in that account but they never specify how much. Now they are saying that they are trying to track the funds. If they locked the account with funds in there, I'm expecting them to be in possess of the funds but when I ask them precise questions at this regard, they never provide a clear answer. Is anyone able to check where the funds might be if I provide the wallet address and destination tag of the hacker Binance account? Can anyone from the Ripple team be in touch with Binance and check if they are in posses of the funds? I've already contacted the local authorities in Italy, but maybe there is a more appropriate entity which can handle the case. Any suggestion is welcomed. Unfortunately Kraken response was pretty useless as they refused to provide support of any kind. Their level of security is quite low as I got several emails asking to approve withdrawal addresses I never triggered. These requests came from a different IP than my one, but Kraken failed to warn me. Eventually I ended up approving the not legit XRP Binance wallet after the hacker was continuously cancelling the withdrawals I tried to submit against the correct address. I hope more and more people can learn from my bad experience and avoid storing their crypto on Kraken.

More setbacks for Bitcoin are acting like an anchor on the crypto market. All Binance exchange trading was halted last night so that they could do maintenance on their servers. Around seventeen hours ago, Binance began system maintenance. They first noted on Twitter that “some users may experience a temporary decrease in exchange performance.” This was most likely because some people were starting to panic when their Binance exchange trading orders were slow getting fulfilled. An hour after that, another tweet went out that said they were extending the system upgrade down time. Another hour passed and then the Binance CEO tweeted out that there was a server issue on the replica database cluster which caused a data sync error. Crypto traders cringed. The tweet went on to say that no data was lost but that it would take hours to get everything synced up. Still no Binance exchange trading. Two hours later the CEO was back to say that it was going to take another 10 hours. This was an important update. It said that 30 minutes before Binance exchange trading would resume, everyone would have the opportunity to withdraw and orders they have made that weren’t fulfilled. CZ continued tweeting fairly regularly. The system update must have been a major issue that could not wait as there was little warning that Binance trading would be suspended. Then CZ tweeted that “We didn’t have a choice, other than trying to fix it as soon as possible for our users.” People were freaking out, including some of the Binance team according to CZ, “One of our team literally threw up after the calculation arrived at 10 hours.” That person and probably about ten thousand others. Seven hours ago, CZ noted that data sync was slowing down and there were a “few billion records to sync.” Two hours later, the Binance ZenDesk (support site) went down as well. That probably freaked a good deal of people out, even though Binance itself was live. That was when they said updates would be forthcoming every two hours. CZ shared an image that showed their DB Cluster did not do what it was supposed to do and that it was not a hack. Even mentioning that word would send people running for their roofs from which to jump off. Then the FUD started to fly. John McAfee, self proclaimed crypto visionary, tweeted an image that shows an alleged Binance message stating that one of the Binance exchange trading servers was attacked and compromised. Still, some outlets spread FUD in lieu of actual information. So, was Binance trading suspended because of a hack, or due to an error in some system maintenance? The debate rages on via Twitter. Others have posted obviously edited images and dubbed a celebrity deathmatch was on between Zhao Changpeng, CZ of Binance, and John McAfee, the guy with “zero cryptocontributions.” If anything, the Binance exchange trading halt has made for an entertaining day. The last tweet from Zhao was just under an hour ago as was one from Binance itself. That one states that they are on track for trading to recommence at 4 am UTC 2018/02/09. That is 11pm Eastern, 8pm Pacific time. They again reiterated that there will be a 30-minute window prior to the restart of trading in which users can cancel open orders. Binance and their CEO have done everything necessary to assure their users that things will get back to normal as soon as possible. At present those with Binance accounts can log in and see their accounts. All balances, at least on my account, are in order and where they should be. Clicking on the Trade button simply gives a pop up that says “no Trading Market.” The current system message at the top of the site links to the last Twitter message. If you have some time and need a laugh, read the comments on that post. They range from flabbergasted to righteous indignation to people simply cracking wise. Hello, Does anyone know, if Binance will allow me to withdraw 15xrp and send them over to an active address? I can only find the trading limits. Thank you John

Getting ready to withdrawal my XRP from Binance and send it to my Ledger Nano and when going to withdrawal on Binance I'm not sure how to handle the XRP Withdrawals Tag. Can anyone tell me what this is and if I need to put anything in there? My Ledger Nano does not give me a Withdrawals Tag, just my wallet address. Thanks in advance.

Hi - I'm new to Crypto and I'm using Coinbase to buy Bitcoin. I'm then sending it to my Gatehub wallet and then exchanging for XRP. I noticed that during this exchange the fee was 20%. WOW. Is there a better/cheaper option? Is it better to buy XRP with other Crypto such as ETH or LTC? Any help/feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am a newbie in all this cryptocurrency business. I now have a few hundred XRP in my Rippex Ripple Wallet and plan on keeping them long term. However, I want to understand the reverse process for future use, but cannot find any chat or email support for the Ripple Wallet. I need to know precisely how to convert my XRP (in Ripple Wallet) back to bitcoin (I used Binance) and then to USD (I used CoinBase). The Ripple Wallet asks for Binance 'destination tag' and I don't don't where to find that. I've attached a screenshot from my Ripple Wallet in the hopes this might help. So in the future when XRP hits like $1000+ maybe more and my little amount of tokens 500.00 XRP worth half a million. How would i get this money? will Binance allow the whole amount to be withdrawn in the same instance? Would love to know this years in advance lol

I have a hefty amount of xrp bought on Binance. Now where should i go from there? Whats so bad about just letting in sit on there? why does everyone choose to have a "wallet'?

I have tried: Gatehub (0 stars) Bittrex (3 stars) Coinbase/GDAX(1/4 stars: 1 star for alt currencies / 4 star for quick in to market) kraken and poloneix (3 star for reliability during heavy traffic) Binance has been the best one i have found so far. lowest fees i know of. More alts than bittrex and no verification. Binance also has a killer app for trading. So far it has been amazing using the app.
