  1. Ripple keeps expanding its network by adding new banks; this time it has signed up Shinhan, the second biggest banking institution in South Korea, to RippleNet So the second and fifth largest banks of Korea are now Ripple partners..... the network is growing... nice Source: https://news.u.today/news/ripple-expands-influence-by-adding-shinhan-second-top-korean-bank-to-its-customers
  2. Google translate: https://www.rabobank.nl/particulieren/actueel/items/nieuwe-moonshot-ideeen-in-de-race https://www.rabobit.nl/ Quick summary of connections between Rabobank and Ripple I know about: Rabobank tested Ripple before, they are also researching a new Ripple product (26 jan 2018), they hired a blockchainexpert who did a case study about Ripple. Heimen Schuring, head of Channel Support & Payment Engine @ Rabobank knows about 'companies like Ripple' according to this article . Rough translation what Huls says about blockchain in this article, dated 30 may 2016: Imo overall Ripple / xrp usecase / fintech developments go way quicker than many people expected so keep that in mind with the above mentioned timeframe. Edit 26-04-2018: Rabobank has removed the article from their site and also took down the rabobit.nl site, but I can confirm it really was announced at rabobank.nl as part of Rabobank's internal Moonshot acceleration program. They clearly stated at that time: There is no official decision by Rabobank to introduce this yet.
  3. A bit dated but couldn't find this at XRPChat so just for archival and those interested; At 19 february 2018 two Dutch parliamentarians asked formal questions about Tether to the Dutch Minister of Finance (Hoekstra). Reason for this are concerns about the Dutch ING bank who has Tether as their customer while there is an article that Tether might be involved with billions fraud. Initial questions here by SP parliamentarian: https://www.tweedekamer.nl/kamerstukken/kamervragen/detail?id=2018D05812 Above questions had addons by PvdA parliamentarian here: https://www.tweedekamer.nl/kamerstukken/kamervragen/detail?id=2018Z02856&did=2018D05823 The answers from Dutch minister of Finance (20 march 2018) at the SP parliamentarian: https://www.tweedekamer.nl/kamerstukken/kamervragen/detail?id=2018Z02844&did=2018D20427 Answers at PvdA parliamentarian: https://www.tweedekamer.nl/kamerstukken/kamervragen/detail?id=2018Z02856&did=2018D20428 Google translate of the answers to SP parliamentarian: Translation answers PvdA parliamentarian:
  4. It's a podcast so I don't have a transcript to quote. But the highlight on the facebook link quotes: "We are covering 50% of all the FX payments the Santander Group does annually. It works really well... we’ve tested for two years and they work, they’re safe and they’re fully compliant.” -Santander Group Executive Chairman Ana Botin on One Pay FX Santander on One pay FX and their use of Ripple
  5. Hello fellow hodlers For some the day is near, others need/want to wait, but ultimately some of us will sell our zerps and convert back to fiat. I want to collect some thoughts on this process. The only regulated exchange I know is Bitstamp and apparently they are OK, but I haven't transferred to them amounts beyond five-figure. I've never transferred fiat back from them to my bank either. I understand that nobody with a sane mind will post here and say: "Sure it works, I transferred back and forth a couple of millions of EUR already", but I hope we can share some insights. I know some of the old time hodlers here have become very rich 7-9 figure rich, that is. So, how do you plan on handling the issue? Technically, Bitstamp, and any other fiat accepting exchange are pure exchanges, matching my sell order with buy orders, so they should HAVE my cash, and not just on paper, but in their accounts, since somebody (multiple people) will have bought my XRP. I'm more concerned with the exchanges playing funny games and stuff. I consider this a very serious topic and I don't want any FUDsters posting market cap nonsense. I will cash out $ millions one day and so please stay away if you have nothing practical and applicable to contribute. How will you people handle this? Also: Bitstamp told me they'll ask fore "additional info", should they need to make a large payment. When I asked what kind of info, they refused to tell me. Has anybody been subject to their additional due diligence yet? Thank you.
  6. https://cointelegraph.com/news/major-dutch-bank-rabobank-exploring-idea-of-launching-own-cryptocurrency-wallet Not a crypto exchange but a major bank contemplating of offering a crypto wallet. Mainstream adoption op cryptos. Only a matter of time
  7. Hi all! I am wondering if we can see what are the implications on using xRapid. Cuallix is the only available example for now. Did they reduce fees for money transfer, how long do the transactions take from start to end(start being when one sends money, end being the receiving part has money in their account).
  8. Crédit Agricole experimenting with Ripple blockchain money transfer technology https://www.credit-agricole.com/en/news-channels/the-channels/group-news/credit-agricole-experimenting-with-ripple-blockchain-money-transfer-technology Several Crédit Agricole entities* are currently experimenting with blockchain technology to simplify money transfers with a foreign-exchange component and make things easier for their customers who live near the Swiss border. Thanks to the Ripple-developed blockchain, the 90,000 customers of the Regional Banks located near the Swiss border and Crédit Agricole next bank (CANB) in Switzerland will be able to transfer their salary paid in Swiss Francs to their French bank account in just a few minutes, instead of the three days it currently takes. They'll be able to control this transfer directly from a mobile app, and blockchain will provide real-time settlement of the transactions, greater transparency in the exchange rate used for the transaction, and lower embedded costs. This test is to run for six months before the service is rolled out to the entire territory. * Crédit Agricole Payment Services (CAPS) and Crédit Agricole des Savoie (CADS), with the backing of Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CACIB), Crédit Agricole Technologies & Services (CA-TS) and Crédit Agricole Private Banking Services (CAPBS)

  10. About two weeks i'm waiting on my transfer of EUR to my bankaccount from the Gatehub wallet. Still nothing recieved. My TX hash seems to be allright and the transfer has been done, but still nothinh in my bankaccount. I've send several e-mail to the Gatehub support with all the info i have about the payment. But still no response. Are they non-existing or is there something else going on. A complete silence. Someone has similar experiences ? Any tips ? Help ? It's about a lot of money that's missing right now. And that for two weeks allready. Help !?
  11. Dear crypto-friends, I need some help ! For several weeks i'm waiting on a payment to my bankaccount from my Gatehub Wallet. And still no respons from the Gatehub support after several e-mails...getting desperate now. In my Gatehub Wallet i clicked on "Send Payment" and then i clicked on "EU bank". In the field "Send to" it was possible for me to click my EU-bankaccount number (it was memorized because i used it before to deposit money in my wallet) . I filled in the maximum amount and then next. Everything looked fine. I also have a TX hash and a conformation. But still nothing on the bank. Anyone that could help me what to do? I'm looking forward on a answer/solution. Greetings, Rob
  12. Very simple: unscalable KYC/AML procedures. Imagine you were to send XRP from a wallet address to your bank. How do they know where the funds come from? Sure you can show them that you bought them at an exchange, but since the exchange transfers XRP out of a pooled account (mostly) it'll require quite a bit of work to verify that this is not dirty money. With a fiat transfer from "shady country account" to "good reputation country account" at least there's a country, a bank address, an account holder name or an account holder address to check and potentially block. With any transfer, be it fiat or securities, SOMEONE needs to do the KYC/AML. So, for now, as long as exchanges send from pooled accounts, this "I'll send my zerps to my bank one day" is a pipe dream. Go work in a bank and see how they freeze a $10k worth of security transfer from a US based custodian sent to a European custodian and you'll understand that it is completely unrealistic to send cold wallet stored / exchange stored XRP to your bank. It's gonna be fiat to fiat for a long time. Go ahead, prove me wrong
  13. My uncle sent this to me from BB&T... (see image) This is the company mentioned. https://www.zellepay.com/ That sounds like xrp right?
  14. What is the name of the bank you have used to cash out to in the USA? And have they been friendly to you cashing out, or have they made problems for you? This will help myself and others to avoid extra headaches when cashing out.

Prepare your selves and hodl

  18. Hello everyone, Obviously new to XRP, and I had a question. Do I have to link a big bank to gatehub, or can I stick with my credit union to deposit and receive funds?
  19. Hello everyone, New to XRP, Gatehub, and trading in general. I was wondering if I had to have a major bank account in order to link to gatehub, or if my credit union account is sufficient. Has anyone setup through a credit union?
  20. I have read all sorts of horror stories about bank accounts being closed by Banks in the UK. Is there any bank in the UK what will let me do SEPA Transfer from Bitstamp? Its ok having all the gains but if can not spend some it seams pointless!
  21. I have a prediction for the rest of the world's population who are not yet familiar with, or involved in, blockchain technology. This is only my opinion and it's mainly based on my analogy of how banks are issuing new debit cards with RFID chips put onto them in comparison to the further growing use of blockchain (Ripple) technology in the banking sector. I remember a time not long ago when I never had to push my debit card into a card reader slot for it to scan a chip for an additional layer of protection. The moment I got my new card in the mail It had felt like it just happened over night, but in reality the national level of ownership of these debit RFID card grew exponentially within a year. Yes, I do understand that not all businesses utilize the chip's technology when a customer purchases something from their shop, but the facts are still there. We (most of us) have an RFID chip card in our pockets these days which was issued by a bank or a credit card service company,. excluding military issued Identification cards. Global population adoption and acceptance of blockchain technology is inevitable in my opinion and I believe Banks will be the ones to introduce a better way, a faster way and a safer way to pay for goods and services on a global scale using blockchain technology. Everybody sometimes uses the chip readers in a physical store and in others you don't. When online shopping, sometimes you make purchases within your country and sometimes you don't. Please let's keep the hate to a minimum. This is just my opinion and if you object that's perfectly fine because everyone has a right to discord, but if you see what I see let us all know. Either way you can look at this works for discussion. How do you envision the majority of the world's population being included into some kind of blockchain?
  22. Hi, I'm from the UK and i use Nationwide Building Society, when trying to deposit funds from there into my Gatehub Wallet, it's asking me for more information than i'm provided: https://i.imgur.com/KqB9oY1.png Without the name/street/town for a receiving bank, i cannot proceed.
