  1. You'll want to read my blog to find some items you may not have known about before Blockchain Week in NYC starts this week! What do I cover in this latest entry? I reveal the two surmised reasons for the market downturn two days ago, who Ripple is sending to Consensus, and discuss the guidance that the SEC provided for cryptocurrencies. In addition, I tell you about a professional organization called YPO that visited Ripple headquarters a few days ago - it's a news story that most mainstream media didn't pick up. In addition, I cover the speculation about Apple adopting the new Payment Request API, formal xRapid cost savings confirmation, and I reveal updated wallet statistics. I hope you enjoy this latest edition: Please leave any feedback below. Feel free to share my blog with a friend - or on any other platform; and thank you for doing so. 2. Source: Bloomberg. With December changes in US corporation tax policy, large corporates will be able to repatriate Billions of overseas revenues in a single year, and pay a reduced US taxation on this money over the following 8 years: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-01-17/apple-expects-38-billion-tax-bill-on-overseas-repatriated-cash In the meantime, from today’s (always excellent) Bob Hoffman Type-A email, Amazon are developping their own global advertising platform to increase profits (they only currently achieve a 1% margin), and to compete with Google and Facebook. Google and Facebook make ALL their money from the ads they sell. Amazon will therefore also soon have significant overseas revenues to repatriate: http://typeagroup.cmail20.com/t/ViewEmail/d/981E5E090FF64A7F2540EF23F30FEDED/B1156D469AE0302EC9C291422E3DE149 What better way to repatriate all those $Bns of dollars than using Ripple products and/or XRP? Interesting times... PS. Bob Hoffman is ‘The Ad Contrarian’. As a former adman myself, I take great delight in him exposing digital ad fraud. You think bots manipulate markets? They steal ad dollars even quicker and better. http://adcontrarian.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1
  3. Just read that Apple and Amazon are looking at setting up shop in Saudi Arabia, now would be a good time to partner with Ripple for those cross border payments don't you think? Routers
  4. Speed and convenience have driven change in entire industries, paving the way for businesses that understand its importance. We're about to see the same thing happen to the back-end processing payments for banks. Those that understand will welcome Ripple technology with open arms. Those that want to cling to the legacy ways of transferring money - the ways that take days - will be left in the past! I discuss the importance of convenience and speed, and the absolute impact of customer expectations in my latest blog entry about Ripple technology and XRP. Hope you enjoy & feel free to leave any feedback below. Please feel free to share with others or on any other media & thanks for doing so! 5. https://www.macrumors.com/2017/11/07/ios-11-2-public-beta-apple-pay-cash/ Initially available in the U.S only. I think this could have a big impact on how people send money to each other. We'll all familiar with sending messages on Android/iOS. Although the funds are not sent directly to a bank account, they are held in a "wallet", similar to PayPal. The big difference is you can spent the funds anywhere that accepts "Apple Pay", and Apple has been aggressively expanding its retail presence. It's not cross-border, but soon people will start wondering why they can send money via iMessage, but not overseas. Which is why we need ILP and the XRP Ledger
  6. Browsing through the agenda of the comming days, all big payment players seem to be there (Apple, Alipay, Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, etc.) as also several supportive partners that passed on this forum before. I saw an interpretation on twitter connecting Stellar to Paypal because of this agenda, but that seems a too easy / pump conclusion as they are (actualy 2x) indeed together in a timeslot, but together with other participants in a paneldiscussion and presentation queue. But still, I can imagine that statements might influence the markets. Any thoughts? I don't see Rippe there.. but as too much expectations did not work out the last time, maybe this time the exact opposite ?? https://files.money2020.com/public/jAVEIl5/xOZcTGNvex.pdf?_ga=2.13394359.1460367270.1508609453-904291530.1498331769
  7. My latest blog entry talks about the W3C working group for payment requests, along with some interesting XRP wallet statistics and SWELL. There's been some crypto buzz around the "payment request" standard for browsers; I discuss this a bit and then talk about some XRP wallet statistics recently published by some XRP developers on Twitter; I think the numbers are fascinating. Let me know what you think, and please feel free to share my blog on other media. 8. As we await announcements from Apple and Ripple shortly, I'm just curious whether this old news posted in Aug17 may be relaunched. As holder of XRPs, do we have any users of Toast Wallet on iPhone and feedback on safety, usability and comments. Since XRPs will be utilised on smartphones (IOS/Android), Ripple will likely be competing with Alipay, Paypal etc when XRP will be utilised for consumer transactions if intended. Or perhaps, the TW will simply be holder of cryptos vs those held in cold storage by the crypto exchanges as Ripple focuses on XRPs for banks in the short term. http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/08/14/apple-approves-toast-wallet-supporting-ripples-xrp-currency/

    Apple keynote

Anyone expecting any XRP-Ripple mention during today's Apple keynote?
  10. Apple event reportedly scheduled for September 12: https://www.google.nl/amp/s/9to5mac.com/2017/08/28/september-12-apple-event/amp/ I remember a statement on an earlier developpers conference that a p2p payment system would be intergrated in IOS11 / imessage and would get available later this year: https://www.theverge.com/2017/6/5/15731034/apple-pay-iphone-payments-venmo-update-announced-wwdc-2017 Would this be presented on the same event? And of course, which ledger will they use for it? September 12 is the same date as on which Ripple will reveil the full program of their Swell conference. Hmm..
  11. This is my latest blog post! I discuss how it's not enough to just "be the best", but that we as XRP investors should also be the evangelists for our investment - I talk about how to discuss XRP as a topic, and then I provide some resources that I think new XRP investors or researchers can use to learn more. I hope you like it. Please let me know your feedback - positive or negative, and as always, feel free to share or link to it on other media! Reddit Twitter
  12. Okay I'm wondering about this. If anyone has insight I'd be curious... Apple is doing their Apple Pay via iMessage situation... https://www.nfcworld.com/2017/06/06/353073/apple-pay-to-add-p2p-payments-to-imessage-through-ios-11/ Is there any possibility this turns into a decent thing for ripple and XRP. i imagine that maybe Apple's banks and whoever is on the receiving end are all connected with Ripple and maybe use XRP to make the cross border payment successful? Simple as "I'm in Japan with some friends, we get some dinner, I want to pay them, whip out my phone, send them the required amount of local currency, the banks do all the crazy work on the background unbeknownst to me and bingo bango the other party has received payment. Is this a potential use case for XRP? would this ever happen with a company like apple? Hodl? @Hodor any thoughts since you seem to have a better grasp of all this from a dev standpoint?
