  1. Awesome.
  2. I just discovered this. And since people in crypto probably don't like sharing information from their phones without knowing ( I sure don't), I thought I should put this up here: It seems like Facebook is using the newly rolled out "Protect" feature to monitor your traffic. If you enable the feature, Facebook routes all your traffic through their vpn, thus knowing which apps you use and when. Sources: https://malwaretips.com/threads/facebook’s-onavo-protect-vpn-is-designed-to-invade-your-privacy.79867/ https://www.jwz.org/blog/2018/02/facebook-now-protecting-you-by-installing-literal-spyware-on-your-phone/ https://www.smarthphonechoise.com/2018/02/facebook-uses-his-free-vpn-to-spy-on-you/ If someone can identify this story as a hoax, please do so! I would welcome that.
  3. So I was thinking that Xpring will lead to Ethereum being an after thought in the crypto market. Knowing the capabilities of Xpring we know it can do more than Ether and has a huge backing already when you add in Ripple's partners. How does this equal the death of Ethereum though? My thoughts are we know the sec is constantly scrutinizing Ether and could say it's a security. This would kill every dapp on the platform. Coin creators would be livid and would want to sue the SEC because of this. But what if they had a better option? Enter Xpring. The XRP ledger can hold any coin or token today. It doesn't matter what platform it's on and it can be easily added to the ledger with its current value. So why is this a possibility? Ripple's partner The United States Federal Reserve. To maintain a semblance of control they need an asset they can 'trust 'and that isn't Ether. I see them kicking Ether to the curb and have Xpring scoop up every dapp and token on the Ethereum platform. Imagine all that value coming into Xrp almost overnight. I find this outcome highly probable given the current circumstances. Thoughts?

    XRPChat app

Would a XRPChat app for either iOS or Android interest anyone? I know I'd like one
  5. https://keybase.io/blog/keybase-stellar Interesting (and probably unexpected for most people) development for both Keybase and Stellar. For those that just want a tl;dr using the article's text:
  6. Hi all, Just read this piece of news and wondering why it is not getting more attention. Santander has been a long time partner of Ripple and testing quite a bit of its tech. Is this the move towards a more retail element? https://www.ccn.com/3-clicks-40-secs-santander-launch-ripple-retail-app-4-countries/
  7. Hi Everyone, Looking around for the best XRP App and tracker to use, only finding a couple of useful apps out there for the Ripple users, what would you suggest or use ? Thanks Nick
  8. Hi all, We just uploaded a new version of the wallet (1.4.1), you can download it here. We: - fixed a bug in the history tab - Added a simple chart to trade/advanced tab - Added labels to gateways and updated gateways and addresses - Fixed the icon in the windows version - Created windows installers Translation thread: Unfortunately there are more bugs than expected in the localization process so it will take a while to get it right. Any help from the community is welcome. The project is opensource, please collaborate https://github.com/rippex/ripple-client-desktop Cold Wallets: Regular Keys
  9. I've pretty much given up on using gatehub in safari on iOS. I checked their site, however, come up with nothing. Anyone have any info I've missed? Thanks
  10. ToastWallet has finally been approved and is now on the App Store. You can see the reddit post here. Link to app: https://appsto.re/us/adIFlb.i
  11. Plus500 silently added Ripple XRP trading Plus500 is a trading platform (comparable to markets.com) for CFD (Contract For Difference) trading. Even though it's for shortterm trading this addition is good I think, since it creates awareness among (day)traders. This is what their Android app looks like:
  12. All, I posted a similar query in the zerpbox and received the response "its too difficult" - but I can't get the idea out of my head/ (I.e don't understand it enough to appreciate its complexity!) so can I ask again for some technical help as to why the following won't work? OK -caveat: firstly I am NOT a techie - but I do believe in Cryptocurrencies and have always felt that there needed to be a more regulated approach for them to be accepted by the mainstream society. Consequently I bought XRP around 4 years ago and hold over a million zerps. Right my query is : if we are all lamenting the lack of day to day adoption or use of the ripple network by the guy in the street, why cant we build an app to do this? Why is there not an international currency transfer app using the Ripple network? From a layman's view point I do recognise some challenges such as 1) getting access to the network quickly for a first time user. i.e I download the app and want to send $100 to a friend in Thaliand (who will receive baht) but I don't have a gatehub account and have never heard or Bitstamp or poloniex etc. Could the app create a sender and receiver XRP address to enable this? 2) getting fiat "uploaded" or "paid in" such that you can send it to a recipient instantly: Again if I have downloaded the app but do not have $100 sitting in gatehub (because I have ever heard of it!) but have it in my bank account, how can you enable this transaction without waiting for verification etc of a new gatehub account? How could you accept the sellers visa card without risking a chargeback? 3) having adequate market liquidity such that someone can send/exchange say Gabonese francs to New Zealand dollars (for example): Could you start with the currencies for which there is a market and build from there? Perhaps having a basic "buy" or "sell" foreign currency functionality in the app to help create the liquidity. 4) funding of the app: could this be crowdfunded?? Am I pipedreaming? I for one would be keen to contribute for a share in this. S
  13. I contacted the developer and XRP Alert app has been fixed to work with the new data API. I use this app all the time, you can configure it to show whatever currency you prefer, and even flip the currencies. Download the APP here (both iOS and Android)
