Cannot access XRP, even though i have the SECRET KEY!!

Hi there, first post here. I opened a Ripple client account back in 2012/13. I wrote down everything i was told, account password, account name and secret account key. I was told that these details were very important, and i would need them if i ever needed to recover my wallet or account. All of these details i still have. I considered my investment in Ripple to be long term, so in that respect, i was not going to constantly keep track of it. I cannot remember the exact amount, but there are approx. 3000 XRP tokens in this account. Time went on, and i apparently missed the window for migrating to Ripple Trade, but knew i could still migrate to GateHub. So, safe in the knowledge i had the correct details, i signed up with GateHub and tried to migrate my account. To my HORROR(!), it said my secret key was INVALID!! I then did a Google, and it turns out others seem to be having similar difficulties. I have since tried several other means to recover the wallet, including the old Ripple Trade. It says 'Unable to recover account user does not exist'. I have tried opening new wallets and importing the secret key, but it still says the secret key is invalid. I have learned that the secret key begins with an 's' and is 29 characters long. I can tell you that MINE is 'ss' and 29 characters long. All are legal characters, i checked. I am absolutely sure i wrote it down correctly, as i wrote it down in three seperate places, all of them correspond. How can this be? I did everything correct, and now i would like access to my XRP. I am awaiting to hear from Ripple support. I would very much appreciate any assistance the community can give. -
I was looking into the ripple protocol. I got really confused regarding the roles of the gateways in the network. My questions specifically are-- 1. Suppose a person A has to send x amount of some currency he has into some other currency to person B. What are the exact steps that should be followed by A and what does the protocol exactly do the above transaction. What role does the gateways play in the above setting? 2. As gateways are the entities which bring in non XRP currencies into the XRP network. How exactly does it do that? 3. How can we distinguish between the transactions in a ledger version which are related to actions done in part-2 above ? I mean transactions that come in the network due to a gateway. Please provide any other information related to gateways which might be useful for understanding the above scenarios. Thankyou.

Hi all xrp enthusiasts, I have a question I couldn't find in discussions about the 20 xrp needed to open an account on the ledger, which are blocked after the account creation. First let's dream and say all humans on Earth decide to open an account on the ledger. it means 7 billions accounts for 140 billions xrp total (7billions people * 20xrp) which is more than the 100 billions xrp out there. Now let's go back to reality, when I am writing now, there are 1 347 165 accounts which means 26 943 300 xrp are hold in the ledger forever. With a growing utilisation it means that more and more xrp will be blocked. I know there is the possibility to vote to lower the need of xrp blocked on each new account but even with this, if there are 100 times more accounts in the future, it means that about 2 to 3 billions xrp will be hold on the ledger which is about 3% of all xrp, that sounds a lot to me. Is there further thinking in this ? I mean it seems like the xrp isn't made right now for a global use. If the account opening cost was about 1 xrp it would be more realistic on a global human scale, because it would mean about 7 billions xrp blocked on the ledger dedicated to account opening. Also don't forget some people could want several different accounts. It's also possible that if in the future xrp costs more, the account opening will become very expensive in fiat money. These are just some questions I was wondering about because of a possible online wallet business I could make where every users would have their own xrp accounts. Basically a service for simple xrp account creation and managing but not in the way exchange do it, because exchanges actually use 1 to 10 accounts on the ledger and then manage it internally. My purpose was to let people have their own xrp account but I guess such a service would dramatically block a lot of xrp. Thanks for reading, I hope I was clear. Regards.

For my older Ripple addresses I have next to my keypairs ~usernames. These are recognized for example by Ripple Charts and Gatehub Is it still possible to attach a ~label to a key pair? Where are these ~labels maintained? In or outside the RCL? When outside will this functionality remain available?

Hi, Few month ago I generated an address in bithompand I copy & paste the public key and the secret key. over the month I made some xrp purchases and sent it to that ripple address. But today I wanted to move all my xrp somewhere else, so I go to gatehub and I import the secret ket....and it imported a different address then my public address that I got from bithomp!!I tried importing it also via other service and they all gave that same-different public address!! the public address I got from bithomp is r97wz2NGhfjoRYN3F7Wf1mLW7eeN1x9Z6w Please help! I'm desperate! One more thing - I got the bithomp link from here they have several options there...

Having moved since I opened my BITSTAMP account to buy XRP In the middle of the night, I woke up with in a cold sweat. Where is my scannable or 16 digit Bitstamp and authenticator codes. I can't find them anywhere. What happens if I lose my phone. Can someone tell me what to do to get them back or a new code. I invested all my available cash in this project and can't sleep thinking I won't have access to it.

Hello, I am new to Ripple and thought the best (easiest) place to get started would be Gatehub. However, the whole process is very confusing and unclear, and I am not sure exactly how it works and how long it takes; I apologize in advance as I understand similar questions might have already been asked, but still could not make sense of it. First of all, how does the 20XRP minimum requirement work, and how can I start trading XRP if I need XRP to start trading? Secondly, I already own BTC and thought I would transfer them over so that I keep everything in one place. Also figured I could then use those BTC to buy the initial 20XRP required. However, when I click on the "Deposit/Receive" link in the picture below Nothing happens, as my browser (tried with both Internet Explorer and Chrome) gets stuck on the page below Has this happened to anyone else before? Is it a technical issue caused by something on my end, or could it be due to activation issues on Gatehub's side? Thanks everyone!

I have been locked out of my gatehub account for 2 weeks. I lost my cell, which contained my DUO app used for 2 factor authentication. I got a new phone, and restored apps from a backup, however I need to set up my gatehub account all over again in DUO which requires the QR code scan or key. However I cannot get into my gatehub account to get the QR code or authentication key for DUO, because gatehub login asks for 2FA. So it's like going in circles. I contacted gatehub support to request that my 2FA be disabled on December 23. I followed all instructions and submitted the required ID verification. However I have not received any response. I have not been able to access my account for 2 weeks. Getting very frustrated... @enej when will support requests be answered?

So im basically a newbie and im afraid i might of lost 100$ worth of btc already... First things first. I created a gatehub account then what i did was buy btc from coinbase.com , so i bought 100 worth of btc. Since im new to all of this i didnt know i had to activate my wallet first on gatehub... I already transferred my btc to my disabled wallet? My questions are will i lose those?will they appear once i activate wallet? And third, can someone please safe me the trouble to buy xrp from other website..? I been going crazy trying to buy xrp but with no success. Thank you for your time . I have read all sorts of horror stories about bank accounts being closed by Banks in the UK. Is there any bank in the UK what will let me do SEPA Transfer from Bitstamp? Its ok having all the gains but if can not spend some it seams pointless!

Ok so it has been 7 days now since I tried to create an account with rippex. I have the rippex wallet downloaded with my xrp safely stored... But what's with the actual rippex site verification process?? I haven't even received a confirmation email stating I signed up. Anyone else?

EDIT: solution found. Sorry, don’t know how to delete this from my phone So I'm an idiot. I recently opened a Gatehub account and wanted to transfer BTC from another account to Gatehub to buy XRP with. I initiated the transfer and everything went off without a hitch. Gatehub funded me 20 XRP to enable the BTC transfer and when I went to enable it, I accidentally enabled ETH instead! Now my BTC is stuck in cyberspace and I only have 19.99 XRP on Gatehub which isn't enough to enable the transfer. What should I do now?

hello I'm very new to cryptocurrency and i just wanted to start investing because it seemed interesting. The first mistake that i have done is that i transferred few bitcoins to gatehub's hosted wallet hoping that i could later exchange them for ripples. My main intention was to buy new ripples and watch if they could really grow into something big. But I'm unable to transfer as i got the error " Wallet not on vault" when i tried to transfer btc from hosted wallet to ripple wallet. I have two questions. Is this because my account is not verified and thus i dont have btc gateway to my ripple wallet and thus i cannot deposit btc directly into it for xrp ? or else is it just that my ripple wallet is not funded with "20" xrp and thus its not activated ? Will i be able to transfer my btc in hosted wallet to my ripple wallet after i get activated ? If its all about non-activated account I would be very thankful if someone helped me out by activating my ripple wallet . Please help me through to get my bitcoins out of it as they are charging way too high for btc transfers to other wallet. Hi, I have a ripple account with some XRP on it. Let's say if I died nobody could recover my account. Is there any official solution for inheriting my ripple account in the case of my death? Obviously I do NOT want to share my private key/password/etc. to anyone. Don't worry, I am well and I don't want to die in the near future. This is only a theoretical question. Thanks in advance, jlr
