Initial fundraising targets have been met, the project is a GO! Note: The fundraiser is still open, but we are guaranteed at least the smallest MoonBox option. With that in hand lets turn our minds to the next stage- what goes in the box. I knew the size was small but didn't realize HOW small until I printed out and glued together the handy paper models Astrobotics provides. I took a few photos to illustrate (sorry for the low lighting). The photo on the left and right are the largest width possible to the smallest. Rather than increasing width MoonBox's mostly scales depth. Of course the price for each increased size increases as well. I tried finding everyday objects so forum members everywhere would have a comparison (a maple syrup can might not work for our Aussie cousins), the best example I could find was a raisin. The smallest size (the one the raisin is beside) is the current selection. This provided an immediate challenge of WHAT we could fit in the box. Since I put forward a paper wallet that is what I started with. After several tries the best size I came up with was 10 cm (3.9") by 4 cm (1.6"), see below. This provides enough space to print the ripple address, some sort of graphic and the list of donors on the back. I stuck to normal paper and didn't do any fancy cutouts, advanced folding techniques or methods. I am opening up the challenge to the community, there are two parts: See if you can fit a bigger piece of paper/ design ARTWORK. Make something that will be immortal Artwork Rules The back is reserved for donor names The front has to leave space for a clear ripple address Must be tasteful Illustrate ripple and/or XRP and/or community and/or the moon All rights/ usage belongs to the project and community Must not be copyrighted or reused artwork Anything else is good to go!! Ideally there will be several entries and closer to the time we can vote on a winner. NOTE: There is a good chance we will use the winner design to promote the project DEADLINE: Will be ordering the MoonBox after Aug 27 and they say expect 2-5 weeks to ship. Tentatively early to mid Sept. So lots of time. I will promote this more heavily closer to the time.

To make sure that the community takes this on as a project I was thinking of spreading some work around. Maybe someone can be in charge of: promotion? education? blackhole wallet/ vanity address creation? country/ cultural ambassador? blogging? Other? If you think this is a good idea, want to head a spot or nominate someone comment below.

This round is to raise funds for the MoonBox order (see timeline). Pending agreement I think the target amount should be 3200 XRP (at current rates). Any amounts above the limit would be used as either a cushion against lower prices, and/or a bigger box, and/or set aside for future moon wallet funding. This can be voted on later. The end date for reaching the target is Aug 27, 2017. Note the wallet will still accept funds past this point, this date is the just the time I will cash out XRP to make the MoonBox order. If I get 5 likes (people seconding) I will publish a ripple address to start accepting funds.

First Fundraiser Contributors/ Donors As per the First Fundraiser Round incentives 100+ XRP will get members listed under a Project Contributor post that will be locked, pinned and featured for all to see in the club. It is worthwhile noting that everyone here also qualified for the second level (250+ XRP will get members name added to the physical wallet sent to the moon). @Dennis Dizer @EasterBunny @GreyAndroidGravy @JohnRevheim @kanaas @midair77 @nsfp @ThomasTheTGV @UrzasLegacy @Wobile @Xi195 @zero-2-9 If you do not see your name or want your name removed please PM me.

This club is to organize, track and participate in the project sending the XRP to the moon. The overall goals of the project are thus; to promote and educate various aspects of XRP and the ripple network. To make sure these goals are met I will be establishing some timeline and targets to keep the project on track. I also want to promote this as a community project so will periodically put out polls and socialite feedback. The rough timeline in reverse chronological order: late 2019- follow up (I have some kickass promo ideas...) IDENTICAL MEDALLIONS STRUCK TO MATCH THE ONE ON THE MOON 2019- share moon wallet and XRP journey success to media and other communities 2019- Allocated XRP sent to the moon wallet (I really like this idea) 2019- Moon lander with MoonBoox containing paper wallet lands on the moon 2018- 2nd fundraising round to raise funds to allocate to the moon wallet late 2017- poll to agree on best total amount to send to moon wallet COMMUNITY EXPRESSED DESIRE FOR 2019- MATCHING THE YEAR 2017- Paper moon wallet is created and returned to MoonBox for inclusion in the the moon lander PHYSICAL MEDALLION IS SENT 2017- contest for best wallet artwork PHYSICAL MEDALLION MINTED Aug 29, 2017- Order Moonbox DONE Aug 27, 2017- 1st fundraiser round to raise funds to acquire MoonBox TARGET MET Aug 6, 2017- project duties and officer nominations/ voting DONE, NEW OFFICERS CAN STILL BE APPOINTED THOUGH July 27, 2017- project briefing DONE Each rough timeline point will receive its own post as it comes up. To fulfill education goals this will remain an open project with posts/ blogs on all steps taken, needed to meet goals (creation of a cold wallet, address re-keying etc.) Since this project spans a few years I know interest will wax and wane. To keep it going I am going to really push we set timeline/ goals and keep them. This allows strong focus in short bursts for attention and then periods of quiet that members can focus on other things. Club rules: Keep it polite and fun, this is a community project. No contribution is too small and all members are welcomed. No speculation, this is a physical to the moon project, not a hypothetical price guessing game.
