  1. Uhm what do you want to call the relationship a bank or liquidity provider has with the exchange? I call it nostro. Its fiat in limbo. Its better than a dozen pools of foat in limbo.
  2. Yes, it becomes a nostro account. but from that one account the FIAT can be exchanged to XRP which can then be exchanged for all FIAT xrp has a pair with. A bank has to only have one nostro account (on the preffered exchange) instead of dozens of accounts in all sorts of FIAT On the topic of fees: A high volume user can negotiate a lower fee structure with the exchange. What you are paying on Uphold doesn't really compare.
  3. Nice find by OP (as usual). Ripple(net) is supported by Software providers for FI's and PSP's. Good, thats the way the target audience can get acces. Did you think Ripple is planning on doing the implementation themselves at 10.000 banks? Let me put it like this: Windows supports a ton of software. That doesn't mean you, as a user, automatically use all of it.
  4. washtrading to make it seem that your exchange is big and has lots of active users. Making it look like it is a legitimate exchange because it is high up in the rankings. Fake market share to attract more costumers who then create a real market share. They know, that alot of people know that the volume is fake. Bad publicity is also publicity. The real money is in collecting transaction and trade fees from users. Binance has made more profit than Deutsche bank in 2018..
  5. This was because Ripple was still using the gateway model back then. All the transactions where visible on the XRPL.
  6. $0,875 would be nice. I accept your 1000Xrp challenge. it is not going above 12usd before 31dec2018 Lets discuss details?
  7. i just edited my post to accept the challenge ?
  8. Funny, i have the same feeling, and you are one that joined after me. anyway: Maybe start by reading into hidden liquidity. A phenomenon which often reveils itself when an orderbook suddenly gets a little thin.
  9. The size of the transaction most certainly does matter. You act like you are an authority on Liquidity and how exchanges work, but your comments suggest otherwise. The sum of available MXN you have listed might be correct, but that does not mean that is the max sum of all currency exchanges. That being said im monitoring Bitso's XRP<>MXN volume daily. As of now not much is happening.
  10. So you are expecting huge volumes almost straight away then? Because my point was about that.
  11. First Xrapid usage is great, but it wil most likely not move volume and price straight away. Exchanges arent nearly as liquid as they need to be. As we have seen, huge volumes out of the blue will move the prices too much.

You are probably right. I dont have any insight in how much work is put into running this forum. Agreed that this forum isnt all that bad, that is also why i joined Mercury's raffle the other day. If you know of any other ways for me to contribute, please let me know.

You don't decide if i have a standing or not, in fact its a little ironic that you think you have the right to say so. I see you (also) like to make your own assumptions and provide an answer to that. Nothing wrong with off topic Discussions, this forum even has its own sub for it (shocker). I believe the whole point of a forum with the option to start topics is to discuss the topic. This is not the reality atm. I am just asking for civil on topic discussions, in which i will happily partake. Instead i am told you and others have the right to spam the **** out of this forum as you please and if i dont like it i should **** Off. I got the memo.

Not sure if the pretentiousness is there on purpose, but i will not respond to your reply, since you made it clear these were your "final words". On the topic as a whole i will draw my conclusions.

While there is some quality stuff every now and then,I think all the low value content is deterring alot of smart and interesting people from posting. This forum doesnt owe me anything, but i see potential and missed opportunity. Can you agree on that?

First you assume, then you answer your own assumption. That's not how this works indeed. Nothing what you said applies to me or what this topic is about. I am merely asking for some nice (on topic) discussions about XRP and Ripple, in which i would happily partake if it wasnt such a mess ( generally speaking). I must be naive for trying to start a discussion about it.

I dont consider sarcasm (what you just did) as a viewpoint. Its more like pulp.

I like the subjects on this forum. Just the endless ''Zerpning style'' spamming in other topcs is what is annoying. (its not only those members either, just an example) Im not against ''the zerpning'', you do you. Its all good, i dont go there. I can go quote lots of members in various topics, but i think you get the point.

@whiteoutThanks for the useless comment to prove my point. BTW: There are still some good sources on the interbowls, its not all like in here.

    Thread hijacking

Im mostly a lurker of XRPchat these days (partly) because, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to read topics with all the noise around the board. These days almost every topic is hijacked by people who feel the need to spam unrelated stuff, create a separate conversation or (even worse) attack the OP or any other poster personally. Effectively using this forum as a spam or flame box. This is (IMO) atleast partly caused by people who take the Zerpning talking style to other topics. It has come to the point that OP's that want a serious discussion explicitly need to mention it. I would like to encourage the Moderators to be more proactive in keeping stuff on topic in an attempt to increase the quality of the discussions and thus the quality of this forum. Thanks in advance.
