The premise of your question is incorrect.  XRP is NOT ‘going away’.

I agree with your tenet that we all here are biased.  but I disagree with your understanding of why many speak up.
I’ve seen the view many times, and I think that many here hold it...  that somehow the people talking it up believe that will affect the price.  Or in some way support the asset.
I disagree completely with that ‘obvious’ motive.
I know when I was first enthusiastic about XRP and ‘evangelical’ about it,  the reason was not even remotely connected with price or ‘supporting’ the asset.  It was because I felt it would be selfish to be one of the few that knew about a good thing to get on to,  and then not share that with others.  I was naive about the hurdles and underestimated risks and possible delays.  Later of course, as the price fell for years, I regretted telling anyone about it.
But I think I speak for many here who speak up when a fear monger pushes some distorted lie, that the reason we speak up still has nothing to do with price or supporting XRP.
We still think ultimately that XRP will be a good investment and can’t stand that thought that someone with an agenda of shorting or angry disgruntlement, is lying or distorting the truth which might muddy the waters for someone trying to decide what to do in their own investments.  The distortions stick in our craw.
I want, and I think many others do too, that both good and bad aspects be clearly presented without agendas being pushed to distort the facts.
It has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with price, and I do not for one second believe that anything I could say could affect the price one IOTA.  (Sorry couldn’t resist...   )
So although I take your point that we all have biases,  I don’t think you are correct to make an ‘obvious’ assumption that it is to help the price or ‘talk up’ XRP.

Unless the site is lying and hiding volume, (which I think would break a number of financial regulations in Australia,) then there is clearly no increase in XRP ODL from the Australian side.
This is the BTCMarkets chart as of right now.  You can see the treasury volume at base of chart on the far left and the non-growing volume ever since.
Masking tags, sharding payments etc would not mask the trading volume indicator at the base of this chart.
So I don‘t believe that AUD volume is growing at all.  I assume it’s similar elsewhere.

No.  You posted an article, then made a big deal via a bold red highlight about something that wasn’t true.
Something that, along with all the other lies in the article, is easily fact checked.
If it seemed like new information to you (it wasn’t, it was a bunch of crap) then you should have at the least used some caution in posting it.  Perhaps an editorial comment or question like “Could this be true?”
Perhaps education these days is failing to teach people how to be analytical which seems a shame.
For instance.  Saying “how do I know Ripple is telling the truth?” and placing an equal weight on a legally constrained company like Ripple and a crypto news website article shows a lack of discernment.
I challenge you, and anyone else, to find one piece of factual information released by Ripple that is a lie.  They will certainly spin,  and talk up possibilities, and perhaps make bad predictions, but any factual statement they make can be taken as read.  Anything else would be madness for a regulated company in their industry to try.
Its an unfortunate fact that the information landscape these days is getting murkier and murkier.  But common sense and even basic analytical skills should stop you highlighting in red something so easily disproved.

Guys!   I just got some new information,  apparently the world is run by Lizard people who wear human skin suits and have a secret base on the far side of the moon!  I got that off a website...  will post the link as soon as I find it again...
If you have a conscience and a brain,  then you really should vet information before posting it as fact.  Short attention spans and modern day laziness has a lot to answer for...

Opinions are one thing, like an investment thesis they can be valuable to an investor. However, "The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent."If you are Long XRP, and not using Leverage to buy XRP, just chill and check back in later unless you want to keep up with the innovation, tech, and industry growth.
Feelings are another thing, and are very dangerous to an investor, especially Retail Investors who are not using professional methods.
High expectations make poor travel partners.
I learned this personally, while having a great time backpacking and sleeping in a hammock with no plan whatsoever. Then did an "expensive" trip, and the whole group ended up complaining that "things could have been better".

I don't know where these guys are getting their numbers from, but this is obviously not correct.
Today the circulating supply is 45 042 338 912. One year ago it was  43 024 433 511. So that's about 4,7% increase. Am I blind or what, because I don't see the exponential increase these bold red letters try to make me believe. In fact, one year earlier it was around 8%, so if anything, the inflation has slowed.
    Go check it yourself:

There are three Trends for Bitcoin as far as I see it.
The Long Term Down Trend which which began Dec 17 2017, which Bitcoin is above.
The Medium Term Down Trend which began August 17, 2020, which Bitcoin is above. (the head of the head and shoulders pattern)
The Short Term Down Trend which began September 4, 2020, which Bitcoin is currently breaking.

I'm pursuing the Impossible Dream: Writing a program to perform automated trading and turn my idle stash into a working asset.
It's turning out a lot like "mastering" poker was: The more you learn, the more you discover how much more there is to learn !
I'm actually at the point now of running simulations with historic trade data, using a rule based decision tree with calculated indicators, and iterating thru various parametric ranges of settings to try and "tune in" to a mix that consistently results in a net gain.
It's more challenging than it sounds, heh.

    I agree with your logic.
But I do wish this forum would resolve to stop using derogatory terms for people and stop attacking the person rather than the argument.
This post is coming from the fact that I feel remorse because I just a few minutes ago posted something that added nothing to the forum and was an insult to a person.  I try hard not to descend into personal attacks and the fact that I did (and it was very mild compared to many posts on here daily) shows that it’s becoming endemic here to bicker rather than debate.  No doubt a reflection of the parlous state of XRP and Crypto more generally.
Sorry for loading all this reply on you...  it’s just that you had a good point,  but you added the personal bit that really wasn’t needed.  So it was a good example.  But so was mine so I will quote it here too...

Hmm, not really... Truth is that both Ripple and Stellar have messed things up. Some mostly in the past, other continue till this day. Both shoot with hail (investment money) and try to hit some targets. Some stick, some won't. All the praise Stellar gets for being so focused on their community, so stable, not for profit but a better world, gets diminished once zoomed into.
That list of commitments is a joke. I can make one and randomly dedicate portions of my holdings to anything. Name me some Stellar actually 'succesfully' did commit to. Or unsuccesfully for that matter. They burned their stash under the pretence distribution was harder than they thought (not their own portion ofcourse, mainly the charity/giveaway/investment part).
Tiffany keeps repeating the XRPL was a validator away from halting, steering her choice towards Stellar. Fact is XRPL never halted and devs came up with a fix. In the meantime Stellar network halted twice.

The data is from the public ledger, it’s all checkable.  There is a certain point where if it looks like a duck,  walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck,  then it’s probably a duck.
Similarly with varying interactions with someone on the internet:   a bot or a fraud has limited capacities to ‘pass the Turing test’ as it were.
I’m not trying to sell you on Weitse.  If you don’t like his tools, or don’t trust them, then just dont use them.  But there are certain prominent members of the XRP community that are obviously real,  and obviously well intentioned,  and he is one of them.  At least according to me, a random dog owner.
On another note...  credulity.    It’s fine to question everything,  but if you examine everything to the ridiculous extreme then how do you know anything is real?  You might be in a lucid dream.  You might be in a madhouse with a fever.
This situation reminds me of the irony of the people that used to tell me Crypto was magic money made out of air and worth nothing.  These same folk much preferred their paper money in their pocket or their electrons on some screen telling them they have of a promise of some dollars in some institution.  All of this if examined up close reveals that our whole society and way of life is built up on magic ideas out of thin air.  Held up by merely the shared agreement to believe and trust in the story.
Lets hope we never see the situation where that ‘compact to believe‘ is broken.

I never gave her a hard time.  I gave her an ignore.  Only so many "spit-take reaction gifs" and hard-hitting investigative Twitter-journalism pieces revealing that government and academia may have had something do with the rollout of telecom/internet/IP infrastructure that one can take.  Similar to your own schtick, here, pooping all over things, without making any clear, declarative statements - with an obviously personal grudge about *something* which you won't come clean, and, now, about which no one cares.
I suspect that others (from what they say in private) may just find her grating for similarities of 'communication style' with this person:   https://twitter.com/gretchenwhitmer

Warned after it happened,     Strange sort of warning,
The story is that ODL is being taken up more and more, that it’s very successfully growing even faster than normal Ripplenet volumes.
And yet the XRP volume is NOT growing.  If there is any growth there at all it is microscopic.
We do know that some clients wanted more privacy on their ODL traffic.  So Ripple were looking at ways it could be obfuscated.  But unless ODL has a super magic trick up it’s sleeve,  it can’t hide from the overall site trading volume indicators.  And those indicators have been very disappointing.

I feel inclined to agree that some form of obscuring has been installed.  So I suspect that the ODL matching and tracking is now going to be less accurate.
But the overall volume cannot be masked and it doesn’t show any growth at all as far as I can see.  That is what bothers me about the situation.
I’m still confident it will save money and be adopted.  I just don’t think it’s getting much traction in the current climate.
@JASCoder feels it’s a staged process,  and he could be right,  but that feels like a overly complex answer when ‘it’s not getting traction right now’ seems more likely and simpler to me.
I hope something changes for the better soon(tm).
