  1. I assume they felt they would have more influence over BCH and found the risk/reward more favorable than other DAs. Maybe?
  2. Most official source I could find:
  3. https://www.coindesk.com/ripples-enterprise-blockchain-network-adds-new-bank/ Coindesk's coverage
  4. xVIA will use either xCurrent (non-XRP) or xRapid (XRP) to route payments on RippleNet (They will likely start off using xCurrent only). Brining more nodes to RippleNet via xVia increases the payment volume on the network and XRP will be competing to facilitate those payments. Ripple has been working hard to position XRP as the fastest and cheapest way to settle a growing number of payment corridors on RippleNet (starting with smaller more exotic corridors i.e., USD/MXN). As the list of corridors XRP settles most efficiently/competitively grows, so will the payment volume passing through XRP, strengthening XRP liquidity. Liquidity tends to relate to price. That is, higher liquidity, higher price and vice versa.
  5. Adding to @Coretex Cory Johnson is Ripple's Chief Market Strategist and formerly worked at Bloomberg TV. https://ripple.com/insights/ripple-welcomes-cory-johnson-chief-market-strategist/

While XRP was already part of the Digital Large Cap Fund, it is now available individually.
  9. I don't know, but she's electric @PunishmentOfLuxury
  10. The claim XRPL development has been stagnate or lagged "other more established offerings like bitcoin and ether" is terribly misguided. The rippled team has been rolling out enhancements that improve the reliability, scalability, security, and utility of the XRPL with seemingly effortless ease since its inception
  11. If you have cash in the currency your customer wants to make a payment in, there is no need for settlement. xCurrent and its messaging is all you would need to sync your internal ledger(s). A complex global bank such as Santander has sufficient cash on hand/operations in each of these countries (Spain, Brazil, the U.K. and Poland), to service their customers payments. XRP or xRapid, is more immediately useful for business that need to or want to service payments in many different countries, but don't have a desire or the capability to tie up cash they could otherwise use as working capital, to *potentially* service payments (It also exposes them to FX risks). This is not to say a bank like Santander would not benefit from the use of xRapid.
