DanielT got a reaction from Lzoxrp in Japan Yahoo backs crypto exchange to launch in May 2019
I’m glad that crypto is getting a real positioning in the world, but I don’t get a real sense of improvement towards XRP, I need a boost of actual XRP price... a positive one lol

I love where he said "....we're in two countries now, but by the middle of the year it might be ten...." The fuse has been lit.....
DanielT reacted to retryW in Mercury FX using xRapid live in Philippines shortly
Mercury look set to go live with a corridor to the Philippines using xRapid.
This will be their second corridor after UK - Mexico
"We are now making payments from a UK corporate to Mexico to import Mexican food and they are moving a lot faster than payments would go through Swift at a much lower cost. So, we’ve already had the Mexican channel open up, it is live, it is being used and I think actually today or tomorrow we are testing the Philippines, with an eye to going live in the next week or so."

"However, the truth is, that most cryptocurrencies are more traceable and transparent than “normal money” (FIAT), due to the public ledgers" - the thing many governments speculate on and the thing which is not allowed to be recognized.
DanielT reacted to xrphilosophy in The XRP Ledger And Graphs: Pattern Detection And Fraud Investigation
Strikingly dissimilar view of the XRPL in contrast with his angry toned colleague Francis Coppola, the nightmarish fintech clown, who is crusading against XRP on 100% false assertions, and actively hostile towards the community on twitter (not to mention very poorly mannered and exceedingly low journalistic standards). Good to see Forbes has a true fintech journalist actually on board.

Good stuff @flanman Thanks!
Closing comments - "It appears to me to be hard to tarnish the XRP ledger as a "centralised excel sheet" or slander cryptocurrencies (as opposed to FIAT) for illegal trade and money laundering when a hobbyist like myself can expose networks of fraudulent actors and enable victims and exchanges to come together to help each other overcome criminality. There is much more that can be achieved with ledger analysis, and I look forward to sharing my exploration."

These little news releases are actually a very big deal.....Always shocked at how little it moves XRP as compared to some random $h!Tcoin with absolutely no real use case....and to then watch those $h!t coins grow and grow, and grow,,,,while we site at <.32
DanielT reacted to NightJanitor in Ripple CEO Compares XRP to Bitcoin, Says Crypto Will Transform Global Finance: World Economic Forum in Davos
The funny part of it is that that's like THE Davos gift bag - "hey, you guys seem to want more development, here's a big pool of money everyone could bring back and use for that, instead of taxing the crap out of your own people and making them hate you and ensuring your own demise" - but only a few of the supposed "visionaries" at Davos will see that, at first... They'll all, naturally, run home and see if they can't "make their own" - but that defeats the entire purpose and is a fine point that some of the lesser developed of the nations won't believe until they've tried and failed and come to the realization that interoperability is the key. I understand the skepticism, but those nations will fall way behind...
Anyway, really glad to see Brad delivering the right message. Hope it translates.
DanielT reacted to jargoman in The First Bank Using Ripple’s XRP-Based xRapid Reveals Imminent Launch
This seems like a huge deal. 80 countries is a lot.
let me put my tinfoin hat on.
lets say you test run a bank half the tx's you run through xrapid, half use existing system. To prove there is a 60%+ savings
back then the price was 0.25 cents
turn on xrapid
price increases rapidly to 3.95 cents
price increase is 3.95 cents - 0.25 = $3.7 increase.
full production of one bank would increase the price by double or 3.7 * 2 = $7.40
If one bank would bring the price to $7.40 cents then what would 80 banks do.
7.40 * 80 = $592
If you wanted to be within 1% rounding down to the safe side you would subtract 0.5%
this should make your skin crawl
592*0.995 = 589.04
rounding down to the nearest dollar
