    Blog Link:  https://xrpcommunity.blog/xrp-milestones-of-progress/

In today's blog I break down significant recent XRP milestones, along with the Q3 XRP Markets Report!
The pace of XRP news is staggering; I've packed this article with the highest-profile developments and still had to exclude some interesting developments.
Ripple News included the Quarter 3 XRP Markets Report, and I provide my perspective on it, along with some action items I recommend for the XRP Community.
Quidax announces their interest in becoming an xRapid partner; ECS, a massive treasury service for corporates, announces plans for Ripple tech integration; Chris Larsen makes his perspective on XRP and digital assets crystal clear at the Money 20/20 Conference; and a new episode of The Ripple Drop confirms that Multi-hop does indeed activate the option for any RippleNet member to use xRapid.
XRP News includes two new exchanges supporting XRP, along with an announcement from Wietse that he'd like to integrate the XRP Tip Bot with Wirex.
I hope you enjoy the read: Please feel free to share my blog with anybody you like, and on any platform you wish - and thank you for doing so!

ACI supports around 9 percent of global SWIFT traffic and approximately 30 percent in the US. ACI offers services to banks around the world wanting to connect to and leverage the SWIFT’s global payment initiative (gpi). ACI also supports real-time schemes around the world, meaning that any bank can use Real-time Payment Systems to support SWIFT FIN, gpi, DLT (e.g. Ripple), Wire and immediate payments.

In my last write up I tried to explain Orderbooks, and how they form the connections which value flows through RippleNet, both on and off ledger.
In this write up, I try to explain how the Liquidity actually flows through those Orderbook connections.
If I'm unclear on anything, or just bat shat crazy, then please ask a question, or correct a flaw (seriously if I'm wrong, I want to know). I hope this helps somebody understand more clearly.

teletubi reacted to Hodor in Crypto Adoption for the Masses: Finding the Path Forward
In today's blog, I talk about which crypto will move the market forward.  There's also a lot going on in the cryptoverse affecting XRP:

The SEC creates a new fintech hub website.  Ripple headquarters is toured by CoinTelegraph.  There's fresh news of xRapid, along with a new xRapid customer.  Flutterwave and Combank both announce RippleNet membership and integration.
Lastly, a panel featuring both Ripple and SWIFT is planned for the AFP conference in Chicago.
In news of XRP, two new fan sites promise to add convenience for those looking for the latest statistics and performance metrics on XRP, and a new exchange is announced that ??????????? ???? ??? ?? ????? ???? ????????.  And yes, you'll want to watch their promo video.
All that and more in today's blog!  Hope you enjoy the read. Please leave any feedback below.

teletubi reacted to Snoopy in Uncle Dusty's Onion Soup
This recipe is my wife's Uncle Dusty's recipe... I don't know why he was called Dusty.  His real name was Richard, and he didn't like being called D*ck, so sometime when he was in the Airforce he got the nickname Dusty...  He wasn't always appreciated by many in the extended family, but everyone LOVED his food.  He loved our family very much though and before he passed (years ago) hand wrote our favorite recipes for us.  It is with great pride that I am able to recreate them because you always think of that person when enjoying that meal, and I am happy to share it with all of you!  The wife and kids actually requested I make this for today so I thought I would post it here as well.  It is SUPER EASY - the worst part is the chopping the onions.... but only when I forget to put them in the fridge overnight and then burn a candle near where you are cutting them!
Note - this is the ACTUAL recipe, but I usually end up doubling it so I can share it with others.  This also freezes well!
ALSO, you are making it the night before so it can sit in the fridge overnight!
8 medium to large vidalia sweet onions
4 cans (14.5 ounces per can) of beef broth (again this is the ORIGINAL recipe - I usually buy a close equivalent of the larger "boxes" - Swanson, I think?, but it doesn't really matter too much.... I think I end up with maybe an extra few ounces being dumped in, but not a big deal)
1/4 POUND butter (8 tablespoons.... one stick)
    flour
    4 beef cubes
    Croutons
    Shredded mozzarella cheese
So, here's what ya do... You'll need a BIG pot.
Cut the onions - traditional recipes for onion soup will tell you to cut them into "rings" - but when eating I always hated having the "dangling" large rings from my spoon so  I will cut those "rings" in half.  No loss of taste and it makes it easier to eat!  Anyways, thin slices, either halved or quartered.
Start melting the butter - on a burner numbered 1 thru 10 I usually put it on a 6 or 7
Once the butter is melted about halfway dump all of the onions in there and leave it on the heat until the onions are CLEAR stirring occasionally - so you're not going to stand there stirring constantly... wait a few minutes and just stir the onions making sure to bring the ones from the bottom to the top.   The whole process should take 15+ minutes just remember to stir gently so you aren't mangling the onions.
Ok, remember when I said you'll need flour?  How much?  Depends.  All of the liquid in the onions was just brought out and you're essentially just making a roux with that liquid and the onion mixture.  When I double the recipe I do it by handfuls and usually end up with maybe a cup's worth.... just remember, you can always add more, but can't really take it away!  Anyways, add the flour and stir gently so you aren't mangling the onions.  When there really isn't any more liquid in there and the flour isn't "lumpy" you're good.
Add the beef broth - just dump it in and stir you'll get clumpy onion and flour parts.  It's ok, they'll break up.
Take the FOUR beef cubes and dissolve them into TWO cups of HOT water (technically you can do it in any temperature, but they dissolve easier in hot water....) Dump that into the pot.
    Stir
    Bring to a boil
    Stir
You want it to go at a low boil for a bit, and have the level of soup drop down.  I can't really tell you how much.  It will just LOOK and start to taste right - I say start because once it cools you're going to refrigerate it overnight.... It just tastes better then.  Also, HOT BOILING SOUP IS HOT....don't hurt yourself!  I left it go at the low boil for about 20 minutes and it dropped down maybe half an inch.  You're still stirring it every few minutes
Let it cool (I just move it to another burner and let it cool for an hour...) then move to you're refrigerator - just put the whole pot in and let it sit overnight.
When you're ready to serve it pull it out maybe an hour before, let it warm up for maybe 10 minutes, then put it on the burner and bring it back up to temp, stirring occasionally.
Usually I will serve this with a loaf of homemade bread for dinner, makes for a perfect cool fall or winter meal!
The way we will serve is is to put out a bowl of croutons and a bowl of shredded mozzarella cheese and let people put in what they want in their own bowl of soup, by the time you are done buttering the bread your cheese should be melty and your croutons should be absorbing the soup!
Easy enough that even @Loki and @Hellen can make it

teletubi reacted to XRP-JAG in Ripple In Ukraine - What Do We Know?
    Source: https://www.fides.ch/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Ripple_Fides_Conference.pdf
That Ripple logo is well and truly in Ukraine:

So, what do we know about Ripple & Ukraine... well not a lot it would seem!
A news article from back in 2015 cited the Ukraine Central Bank
    https://en.interfax.com.ua/news/press-release/291803.html
After that, I'm struggling to find anything more recent specifically related to Ripple, but there is a lot of talk about an electronic version of the Ukrainian Hryvnia on various Crypto websites. Tracking that back to anything official is a struggle.
One Jan 2018 report by 'National Radio Company of Ukraine' does talk about 'National Bank of Ukraine' (NBU)
    Source: http://www.nrcu.gov.ua/en/news.html?newsID=68491
However, I've had no luck finding that press release on the NBU website, or really any mention of it otherwise really except rehashes of the same article on various Crypto websites.

So the question does seem to remain... what exactly is Ripple doing in Ukraine?

I also cover the latest news affecting the XRP ecosystem.
This includes an analysis of crypto-assets by the G20's Financial Stability Board and a resolution adopted by the European Parliament.
SIBOS, SWIFT's annual conference is coming up on October 22nd, and I describe what to expect for Ripple.

People donate a lot of money to you to help them understand this, and you're really letting them down in my opinion.

teletubi reacted to xrpmommy in Catalyst Corporate Partners with Ripple on Blockchain for Cross-Border Payments
    https://www.cornerstoneleague.coop/catalyst_corporate_partners_with_ripple_on_blockchain_for_cross-border_payments.html
Credit unions may have access to fast, reliable, cost-effective blockchain payments in the future, thanks to a partnership between Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union, a wholesale financial institution with 1,400+ member/client credit unions, and Ripple, the leading enterprise blockchain solutions provider for payments. Catalyst Corporate announced the new partnership to approximately 300 attendees at its annual Future Forums conference at the Dallas-area Omni Frisco Hotel yesterday.
Blockchain is an open distributed ledger system that confirms cryptocurrency transactions between two parties in a permanent, verifiable way. Ripple is a global blockchain provider with offices in San Francisco, New York, London, Sydney, India, Singapore, and Luxembourg with a network of 100+ banks and payment providers worldwide. XRP, an independent digital asset, which Ripple uses in its product xRapid, is the world's second largest cryptocurrency by total market capitalization, boasting a market capitalization of $22.2 billion.
Catalyst Corporate will explore Ripple’s blockchain solution initially to overcome a number of challenges that credit unions and their members face with international wires.
“The traditional international wire experience fails to meet today’s expectations from a price, speed, and ease-of-use perspective,” said Brad Ganey, Catalyst Corporate’s senior vice president and chief operating officer. “Blockchain technology, and specifically Ripple’s xRapid product, resolves all three of these challenges simultaneously. Through our subsidiary companies’ technology platforms, Catalyst Corporate will leverage XRP, through xRapid, to test the instant transfer of money across borders on behalf of our member credit unions. We have signed a production contract and are currently building out our test plan.”
Despite challenges faced with international wires, demand for global remittances continues to increase. For example, U.S. global remittance flows from the U.S. to Mexico totaled $28 billion in 2016. Research indicates that, based on migrant population data, up to 27 percent of Catalyst Corporate’s membership is located in markets with a high demand for international remittances. Many of these transactions are initiated by underbanked populations at money centers. These wires are costly, and delivery can take days or even weeks.
Ripple can reduce that time to minutes, giving credit unions the opportunity to compete in these markets. Ripple’s average xRapid payment from the U.S. to Mexico takes less than three minutes. As such, Catalyst Corporate will target sending its first international transaction via Ripple’s network to Mexico, Ganey said.
Blockchain transactions could offer credit unions additional opportunity, as well, considering cross-border e-commerce transactions are expected to reach almost $1 trillion by 2020.
"Our goal with xRapid has always been to bring our customers faster, cheaper, and more reliable global payments,” said Asheesh Birla, SVP of product at Ripple. “With Ripple, Catalyst Corporate will be able to source liquidity and send payments on demand using xRapid. That will not only improve their business, but also the lives of credit union members who, many times, are sending lower value remittance payments to their loved ones."
In the early 2000s, Catalyst Corporate was a pioneer in the electronic image exchange of paper checks. Two years ago, it pioneered a web-based, real-time deposit capture suite of services, called TranzCapture. The next step in pioneering new efficiencies in payments for its members is researching blockchain delivery of international remittances.
You can connect with Catalyst Corporate on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. And for more information, contact Catalyst Corporate at contactus@catalystcorp.org or 800-442-5763.

teletubi reacted to gatehub in Cashing out from Gatehub to UK bank
    Hey Moonraker,
Here are a couple ideas -
It sounds like your end game is to have GBP  in your UK GBP bank account after you've done some trading etc.
We'll pick up from where your question really takes off:
What's the best way to get it into my UK bank account in GBP without having to pay ridiculous fees?
Starting with the last step, you have GateHub issued Euro IOU's and you would like to convert those into GBP. Currently, there is no Gateway or issuer for GBP (that we're aware of). Ultimately this means there is no liquidity of GBP for your EUR/GBP in the ripple network. If you find a Gateway offering this pair this would be your easiest/fastest way.
Withdrawing EUR to your UK bank and paying the conversion fee is currently the quickest way.

Just when SWIFT thought they had just about caught up to xCurrent, what do Ripple do? They basically unbrand xCurrent and announce RippleNet and Multi-hop.   It means that SWIFT GPI is already obsolete.   Blockchain messaging (alone) is not enough, and settling using vostro/nostro is absolutely not enough.  Ripple just pulled the rug from under SWIFT's feet. Multi-hop enables every xCurrent customer to also SETTLE their payments within a few minutes. Game over, SWIFT.  If they want to compete they will need to use a digital asset that's as liquid, valuable, fast and cheap as XRP ...err, that leaves only XRP.   No more shenanigans and bullsh!t from SWIFT - the rubber hits the road this year, and SWIFT don't have a digital asset to help them compete.   They can either join Ripple or admit defeat.
