swanny86uk got a reaction from G-Men in Greenspan: XRP Not A Security But Community Still Too Aggressive
Strange how the same isn't said (by Greenspan) about some of the Bitcoin community who are hardly angels. People threatening XRP community members kids on Twitter, mocking XRP community members with speech impediments etc.
Also, when eToro market crypto to new and unsuspecting investors as crypto and then tell you it's not actually owned by you (and it might not even be crypto but a CFD) but you can put it in a multi-sig wallet for 133XRP but only if you are a "Gold" member - no wonder some people in the community are angry.
Anyway, never wise to trust people in the financial industry with the surname Greenspan is it?

SUCCESS! Right on schedule 200 RippleNet customers as I had previously projected in below. The growth of RippleNet is having momentum.

"Ripple, provider of leading enterprise blockchain solutions for payments, announced today that 13 new financial institutions have signed up for the company’s payment network, RippleNet. The companies include Euro Exim Bank, SendFriend, JNFX, FTCS, Ahli Bank of Kuwait, Transpaygo, BFC Bahrain, ConnectPay, GMT, WorldCom Finance, Olympia Trust Company, Pontual/USEND and Rendimento. With these additions, there are now more than 200 customers signed up for RippleNet.
JNFX, SendFriend, Transpaygo, FTCS and Euro Exim Bank will leverage the digital asset XRP to source liquidity on-demand when sending payments on behalf of their customers. Using XRP for liquidity when sending a cross-border payment helps financial institutions avoid the hassle of pre-funding accounts in destination currencies. It allows them to make faster, lower cost payments than they can through the traditional correspondent banking System."
"In 2018, nearly 100 financial institutions joined RippleNet, and we’re now signing two—sometimes three—new customers per week. We also saw a 350 percent increase last year in customers sending live payments, and we’re beginning to see more customers flip the switch and leverage XRP for on-demand liquidity,” said Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple. “At the end of the day, our goal is to make sure our customers can provide excellent, efficient cross-border payments experiences for their customers, wherever they are in the world.”

Certainly think it is a long-term possibility. I guess a few things will need to be done beforehand potentially:
Increase in liquidity (Wall Street entry into crypto could facilitate this along with obvious xRapid use case) Cobalt? Taking over Fed settlement and potentially other countries RTGS systems would need more than 1,500tps? This is the dream though (even if it is a tin-foil dream)

Not just any fridge magnet but one connected to CMC to update the key stats every 10 seconds. My names scooby & I'm an addict.
Pretty cool, I'll plead ignorance on the specs but it's something my bro made me using some fancy chip which connects to interweb itself.
Cheeky bum that brothers are the middle button plays "this time next year we'll be millionaires" line from only fools & horses. lol

I'm not too concerned with this.
SWIFT seems to have a fixed mindset. The same cohort that hasn't changed in ~40 years is attempting a makeover to digitize their current product and hope to maintain the same version for many more years to come.  They're missing the entire concept - making money move as fast as email in order to integrate money into society at a deeper level.
Yes, everyone wants money to be digital but I think more importantly people want it to be versatile and flexible.

The list of banks on their participants page is impressive to say the least (granted not all of them may be using the service), just skimming through half of the list there is:
ABN Amro Alfa Bank Allied Irish Banks Credicorp Bank Bank ABC Bangkok Bank Bank of America Bank of Cyprus Bank of Montreal Barclays BBVA BNY Mellon Commonwealth Bank China Merchant Bank CitiBank Commerzbank Credit Suisse CTBC Bank Deutsche Bank Dankse Bank HSBC ING KEB Hana Bank Obviously doesn't guarantee that they will have the minerals / regulatory clarity to use XRP as settlement but surely this lays the groundwork when regulation is sorted? Is this what Garlicmouse was referring to when he said "dozens" of banks will use XRP in 2019?  Or maybe I'm getting carried away

I doubt. Actually Corda is a competitive product to xCurrent/xRapid and ..... XRP and the XRPLedger do NOT belong to Ripple.
NOT reporting this as news from their part would even make their case "SEC > XRP = NOT a security"  like written in stone... JMHO...

I think what it is is that FIs with large well established legacy infrastructure that have spent years and years optimizing their legacy systems for quick payments and settlement have a lot of overhead and switching to a new system would involve a lot of changes, including incurring losses and taking on a new set of risks. They want to commit to a clear leader in this space with a proven track record. I think it's still way too early for them to commit to such a new technology with insufficient liquidity needs for their large-scale use and with things currently being so turbulent in this space. You can't run a business with all this chaos going on around you if a clear well established and stable blockchain leader for your needs hasn't emerged yet.
