My wicked idea for streaming payments is car insurance
Linking time and place (GPS) in the car to insurance payments (and even ownership).  My wife dries her car twice a year and has to pay annual insurance, her car insurance should should be linked to her car usage.   And why buy a car, surely we should hire the car we need (big or small) when we need it and then pay according to usage.

I know nothing regarding patents, but this might be in order.  I've also been thinking about streaming payment applications in healthcare.  But my epiphany came when my PCP of 20 years switched his practice to concierge medicine (for many reasons but mostly inadequate reimbursement issues).  To his continuing regret, he lost many patients who did not have the ability to pay the upfront $1500 annual cost for the service.  A streaming model would have made that unnecessary and completely changed his practice model.  He had never even heard of XRP or cryptocurrency, and when we discussed how COIL could work to disrupt many industries, he was completely awestruck at the possibilities.

This is my personal vanity thread. I noticed that the forum doesn’t seem to have any “presence” feature I can use to indicate when I’m active or sleeping.
I’m normally pretty private about where I am and what I’m doing at any moment. I don’t tweet, instagram or otherwise livestream my life, because really who cares to know.
But, in launching the club and leaving for a whole day with so many great questions unanswered made me feel really guilty. I’d hate for any of you to think I’m ignoring your particular question or comment.
So I decided to invent this thread as my own personal “presence” feature. That way you’ll know what I’m doing instead (before) I answer your long waiting question.

Perfectly valid request.  If we are privy to the potential pitfalls, and we see that Ripple is dealing with them properly; we will feel that much more secure in our investment.

Uphold here also.  I connected my checking account.  You can then buy instantly at current price.  It then normally clears my bank via ACH in two business days.  Be aware that Uphold will not release your XRP for 7 business days no matter how quickly the ACH clears your bank.  I've made probably 20 or 30 purchases and it always clears my bank in 2 business days, and is released exactly 7 business days by Uphold.  I can't move it to my Nano until they release it.  That is not a concern for me, as I am a hodler and not a trader.  I bank with a small credit union and my debit card is denied at all exchanges I've tried.  I'm satisfied with my arrangement so I have not pursued trying to get approval with the debit card (it is Visa branded).

At 57, I'm definitely one of the older ones here.  I've worked in IT (software, hardware, and coding) most of my life, and it was blockchain technology that initially captured my interest.  Unimpressed with the technical limitations of Bitcoin, I discovered XRP and its superior algorithm, which led me to researching Ripple the company.   I have been saving for retirement for many years, but like many Americans my age, I have enough to cover basic retirement; but more money needs added for it to be considered "secure".  So I rolled the dice last summer and took 20% of that money and purchased XRP, most of it below 18 cents.  If XRP were to completely tank, then it would be a definite setback, but not a disaster.  I have been increasing my XRP holdings since March during this bear market.  If XRP increases substantially, I will be able to enjoy a dream retirement, assist my extended family financially, and do some charitable work.  I promote XRP on forums, Telegram, Twitter, YouTube; run an XRP validator and Codius host, and assist in any way I can to help it achieve success.

Not to be morbid but after watching my elderly experience old age and eventually pass on, and watching my family help them through it, I honestly believe we are always children in a way. every year and every decade, every milestone is something we experience for a first time eventually and we are new to it.  We collect wisdom and try to share it, we attempt to create a better world for those who follow us, we learn how to treat the earth and each other better, we develop habits and opinions and ideas, technologies and knowledge, but everything is still new to us until the day we are gone, we are always at least a little childlike, and I think for me, that embracing that side of life makes life much more fun. There is no reason a person at 80 can't look at the world with the same childlike awe as a 7 year old who sees the giant water slide for the first time.  When we begin to think that we are no longer childlike in any way, we lose the fun and sense of adventure that makes life amazing.
Remember the first time you walked into the High School when you were 14 or 15 and how exciting it was. Or when you were 21 at your first club, or when you were 30 on a "real" adult vacation with your baby, or your baby at home, and the first time your kid gets a base hit, then the return to new hobbies in your 40s. And now I watch my parents and inlaws as they approach retirement and buy their toys and RV's and go on long road trips and experience all these new great things life has to offer like the first time I was tall enough to ride the roller coast, or the first time I slept out in the back fourty with a tent I made myself, or the first time I did anything adventurous and new. I think adult is just an idea that we sometimes create as an excuse to no longer enjoy the sweetness of life's adventures which come to us at every stage.

53 here....close to the same story as @Zerp4evaeven down to my IT roles.  I had a little of everything for awhile but the more research proved to me that its only a matter of TIME for XRP to be the standard for settlement / cross-boarder solutions. so I've slowly realigned heavy into XRP.
The plan for me is to cushion my retirement and help my family. and I will be buying a full barrel of Jack Daniels to celebrate when XRP hits $30 and yes...I see this happening within 3 years.

People who only think about speculation and price tend to think we're "late to the party".  People like yourself, Hodor - and many others here - we realise just how early we are to this space. This is about changing how money flows around the world in a radical new way.  This is about freeing up money, and not just the Nostro/Vostro money, but ALL money. A frictionless, instant, (near) free flow of money. Microtransactions and all the new job categories that will open up.  Streaming value like we stream information.  No need for sign-up pages in many cases - just stream value in one direction, and get your information in another direction.  And then there's all the things we don't yet know that will be invented because of the Internet of Value.  Exciting time ahead.  Thank you Hodor for your level-headed, well-worded commentary in this space.
