Rutski reacted to Ripple-n-Time in CB again (Sorry) I know why they aren't listing XRP
Something is brewing.....you don't hire 90 new people with a total of 500 being added by years end if you intend to only keep 4 cryptocurrencies on your exchange.  Secondly, after the bitcoin cash debacle and current SEC inquiry into insider trading, coinbase will be absolutely certain NOT to repeat the past as new cryptos are added.  Another thing to keep in mind is Circles acquisition of Poloniex.  Circle is backed by Goldman Sachs.  Goldman Sachs is coming out with FUD like this:
    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/07/most-cryptocurrencies-will-crash-to-zero-goldman-sachs-says.html
YET, GS has noted that they intend to offer their clients access to cryptocurrency investing.  They are speaking out of the side of their mouths, while behind the scenes that are gearing up to enter the space for a piece of the pie.  Coinbase will have no choice but to add XRP this year.  March certainly works for my schedule. I hope the videos timeline is correct as Circle (aka Goldman) is def coming after Coinbase.  Brian Armstrong needs to remember:  objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

Rutski got a reaction from MatinMontreal in CB again (Sorry) I know why they aren't listing XRP
I think CB will add XRP and are taking advantage of the current competition and market. They know their competition and other exchanges are adding XRP,  BUT until then, CB is going to take advantage of the transfer fees that people are buying with their platform and sending to binance and such to get XRP. Once robinhood, toast, coinsqaure, go live with XRP then I think you will see CB offer XRP. If not, then financially as a business and company, I would question them.  At the end of the day, CASH IS KING.

Rutski reacted to Hodor in XRP Momentum Building: JoelKatz’s AMA and xRapid Adoption News
The momentum behind XRP and Ripple has quickly built into the size of a freight train.  I make a good-faith attempt to cover all the news items of the last seven days, including The AMA (Ask Me Anything) session that David Schwartz held on Reddit.
The other news items are extensive as well, including updates to xRapid customers, general Ripple technology adoption, and community updates.  In addition, throw in two interviews with Ripple executives and you have a very busy week indeed.
Hope you enjoy the read - please leave any feedback below.  Also, feel free to share my blog with a friend or family member, or share it on any other forum or platform - and thank you for doing so!

Rutski reacted to Mpolnet in Ripple/Santander - Apple : Apple Pay Cash?
Partnering with Apple Pay for the use of sending value via iMessage could be the first stepping stone for micropayments in my opinion. Given the number of countries Apple does business in it would make sense for them to switch to the xRapid model where they don't have to prefund accounts in those countries. This would allow them to have more capital freed up and in my opinion would allow them to continue returning money to shareholders (which they have been doing for the last 5 years) in an easier way.
I truly think it's viable to believe these pieces fall into place. It's just doesn't make rationale sense to me that profit driven companies wouldn't switch to xRapid when it would help reduce their operating expenses (by reducing overhead costs and fees paid) in addition to increasing their bottom line and freeing up capital, which they can either reinvest to continue growing their business or redistribute to shareholder's.
Seems like a win win to me but who knows if I'm overlooking something.
EDIT: Personally, I don't think Apple would need to become a bank to take advantage of this. From my understanding they could link to a liquidity pool and simply source XRP in real time whenever a payment is sent through iMessage/Apple Pay or whatever feature they integrate it into (and they don't need to hold XRP). This allows them to offer a new service, which takes away revenue from competitors thus, making Apple more competitive. Their biggest cost would be the initial sunk cost of setting up their system with Ripple's to allow for use of XRP. This is my understanding of how something like this would work but please feel free to correct me though if my points are off/out of whack

Agreed! The only thing I'm unsure of is if that $60B - $200B market size of micropayments is accounted for in the $150T in global annual cross border payments that Brad has been referencing or if it's own standalone market, independent of the size of the global cross border payments? I pray it's the latter but I really have no idea - maybe someone in the community can assist with answering this?
If micropayments is its own standalone market then I will add it as a total addressable market to the XRP utility valuation model I have worked on creating. Currently, the model has four markets 1) Global Cross Border Payments 2) Store of Value 3) Reallocation of the freed up capital of $27T in nostro/vostro accounts and 4) XRP as a settlement layer for derivatives settlement.
