Isn't the China part new? This is the first confirmed case of XRP on an actually path into China and not just the rumors of American express moving into that market.

    Hey @XRP-JAG
I am part of many chat rooms/clubs including the Zerpening, some clubs in XRPChat, CSCChat and clubs in there and a few discord channels. In fact too many to really do them all justice. I like learning as much about my investments as I can. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Some of these rooms are public and some are private. I don’t class myself as elitist and I definitely don’t think I am better than anyone else.
And yes I get told things that I have been asked to keep confidential. I respect that and I always will.
I don’t think it’s right you making these accusations.

I wouldn't say discord is being elitist. As a whole it's a lot less drama than here, reddit, or Twitter and people just want to have a good time without negative nancy boys shifting all over everything.

People disagree but it's only an issues when people get on their high horse and start talking down to others and essentially calling them idiots.

I understand you...I even mentioned that your pov is right (if you choose this pov)...but I and pretty much every web site in the world have decided that the best approach with crypto was to use "Circulating Supply"...so either you don't understand my/our pov or you choose not...
Because you think some way doesn't mean everyone has to think your way and that doesn't also mean the way CMC and als chose is a hoax...

I agree with CMC on this...even though you are also right...here's why..
This is a new paradigm...if we were talking about a company we'd say Authorized Shares vs Outstanding Shares....Outstanding being the ones already in the market and available to trade...Authorized is the maximum a company is allowed to "print" and add to the Outstanding...
Since XRP is not a security and Ripple did not issue shares how to calculate market cap...by using Circulating supply...
Same goes to all mining coins that have a maximum but have not reach it for example Bitcoin's market cap is 17 384 200 BTC * (today's price) and not 21 000 000 BTC...
So...you either choose one or the other...since CMC has chosen to calculate on Circulating Supply I agree that it's fare to everyone even though you have to think different...

Yes and no...they are locked and not released on the market...you really have to think different...it's like saying mining is just like a locked coin in time

Well considering most rumors are huge news whether SWIFT partnership Temanos?.... All the Bearableguy123 or Riddle... IMF...
I can't think of a simple low key rumor so If any one of the big ones is true which appears to be with that comment, I think we have a bright future ahead if even just one is fact.

Yes, that terminology has been slightly problematic in the past, to say the least.

US sanctions matter to the EU. The whole point of higher level sanctions is to both punish the sanctioned and anyone helping the sanctioned.
Euro businesses risk losing licenses and ability to operate in the US and that also includes fines and seizure of assets.
The US has nothing to lose "kicking the hornets nest" because we don't have any trade deals with Iran except for some aircraft maintenance parts. We don't have any true real dependence on Iranian energy to keep the lights on and risk massive public turmoil. Europe did this to themselves and should be more energy independent to avoid all this Iranian Russian egg shell crap.

XRP corridors don't matter to swift or us sanctions.
What's controlled and throttled is the on off ramps of legacy financial institutions. Iran can move XRP all day long but they still need normal everyday banking accounts to spend their money in the real world.
As soon as Iranian money enters a fiat rail it's exposed to attack and seizure. That's the whole point of Ripples regulation push is that nothing changes with KYC and AML.
XRP is like the internet.... You can still have internet but restricted access once you leave your local network. Much like how China and Russia exclude American sites but still have internet.

At Ripple, we understand that compliance and risk management are critical to your bank, which is why we build solutions that offer greater visibility into and control over cross-border settlement. Ripple offers seamless integration with your bank’s existing systems and processes, such as anti-money laundering controls, fraud detection, sanction screening, and regulatory reporting. Ripple makes it efficient for your financial institution to meet compliance requirements while reaping the benefits of real-time settlement. While financial institutions integrating Ripple remain responsible for employing their own compliance measures, Ripple offers a way for your bank to reduce operational and risk management costs.
Ripple also has sanction screening sorted

Yeah, the thing is they are in a tough position. They hired a massive amount of people and then the crash came in and volumes decreased by roughly 80% (not to mention the assets they hold decreased by 70-90% as well). So now if they star adding big coins that they don't own - sure, they'll make a bit more profit from the expected volume (which is not that much in a bear market anyway), but their own bags that they hold will lose market share.

keybordem reacted to Deeznutz in Amazon and WU...any signals of Ripple?
I thought the last news was that the WU CEO wasn't impressed with Ripple and wanted to stick with their existing tech. This may not have anything to do with Ripple at all.
Ersek had his mind made up before the trial was complete. Ten transactions were tested over three weeks. He was unwilling to consider doing away with their existing infrastructure and wholly embracing Ripple's way if the trial was a success. Ersek considers WU's tech to be blockchain already anyway. Why, I don't know since I'm not a techy, but that's what he said. It sounds ludicrous though.
We had a couple of threads where a lot of us think he signed WU's death warrant.

Someone should tip Ashton Kutcher on Twitter. He's an investor in Ripple and might retweet it or something.
I could see him tweeting something about "Tip your favorite charity's Twitter account with XRP Tip Bot."

As a community we can actually initiate that by tipping each restaurant we visit through their Twitter handle. It will make them curious (and if they want to claim it, they will have to log in ?).
If succesfull on the long term, it could even serve as an alternative rating to for example zoover (how many actual tips did a restaurant receive ?).
