I haven't had the time to watch the whole video, but I've seen some interesting slides.

Hey! it seems we have had a lot of newcomers to the forum lately. Nice! Anyway, regardless of the recent re-popularization of XRP, I am opening this thread about a great technical feature for RCL that is expected to be enabled this week. As you can deduct from the title of the thread, I am talking about PayChan. The thing is, unlike the Escrow amendment, which is also expected to be enabled next Thursday and I totally understand, I have some doubts about PayChan. In particular, I would like to know if PayChan not only offers the possibility of off-ledger payments, but also off-line payments. That is, would it be possible to send those "Claim" messages through any other type of network/connection (e.g. Bluetooth, NFC...) outside the Internet to later distribute them to RCL and redeem them? I asked this question on the chatbox some days ago but got no response. Can anyone clarify this doubt? Thanks!

I agree it would be amazing... and I don't get why it's not possible. As I understand it, it would be enough to check the validity and expiration date of one channel for a first time and then all the payments over that channel could be signed and transfered offline by simply checking the validity of the signature. Am I so wrong? Yeah, probably, but what am I missing?

Thanks, @Vinnie . Your posts have been the most sincere, direct and enlightening thing I've seen for years in this community, and I'm starting to think that locking up the whole of XRP into a raffle smart contract with a drunken monkey as oracle can be smarter than any other decision to be made on a board of directors.

Forex is just buying and selling of XRP for other currencies. That doesn't create growth. What we need is for people to buy XRP and hold it for long periods. Ripple needs to clearly state the "XRP Value Proposition" to the public. This should be front and center of Ripple's message. It needs to be clearly explained why anyone should buy and hold XRP instead of Bitcoin. The company's strategy for distribution must be clear and well defined. Every account holding XRP belonging to the company must be fully disclosed. When the company makes an XRP sale, the terms of the sale must be disclosed including the price, the amount, and whatever the terms of any lockup are (XRP should never be sold in bulk by the company without a lockup). The buyer can keep their identity secret. Furthermore, when the sale is made the company should announce the account IDs where the XRP is being held so the public can watch it. And the company should provide a public, monthly report showing the exact total of XRP held in lock up, and how much XRP has come out of lock-up in that month repeating the account IDs which hold the XRP no longer under lock-up.

What I described above is not "required" - there is no legal obligation to do so. But if this information is not provided, then the market will price-in the uncertainty by discounting the value of XRP.

According to Google Trends, interest on XRP has been increasing lately. Maybe we could see another price rise soon.
