DucPeter got a reaction from Palerider in Good News Keeps Rolling Out for Ripple. XRP Still Bearish?
Depends on how you look at it. The whole crypto market is bearish, but over the last few weeks XRP has been performing significantly better than its two closest competitors (BTC and ETH).

First of all, great way to view your 'new' investment like this.
Personally I don't think that strong fluctuations in XRP's value will matter much. With every transaction in xrapid, XRPs are bought and sold in the background within a matter of seconds. So due to this transaction speed, there is not much of a delay and hence not much of a risk for banks as well.

Very new to this and first post so go easy guys! Only got into crypto in April, after research  I felt the only one to accumulate was xrp. Have got together a stash of 15k which I intend to HODL the hell out of until such time as the price is right for me whenever and whatever that is.
My reason for choosing xrp is obviously the real world application etc that we are all familiar with, but the question on my mind is this...For the mass adoption of x rapid by banks and institutions that we all crave, surely the price of xrp needs to be stable? Just in the last 6 months we have seen prices vary between $ .90 and $.0.25 by my recollection. I understand the manipulation by Whales etc so why would banks etc enter the market when this is happening? They want stable prices for cross border payments but we won't get those until the big institutions enter to counteract the manipulation? So classic chicken and egg scenario..?
Help me get my head around this as I have suddenly got the feeling we won't get this big institutional buy in which could drive the price to $1, $5,$10,$50,$100 or the fabled $589.(where on earth did that last seemingly random figure come from?)

Most recently I’ve heard many different descriptions of the down trend the crypto markets are experiencing and I’ve noticed some very interesting behavior.  First off as a futures trader and investor I’ve been witness to many downtrends in a variety of markets. Markets change over time which is very much like the seasons but without the comforting predictability.  I personally think of these down trends as draughts in the market which can cause an exorbitant amount of stress on the people participating in it.
It’s interesting to observe how other species such as Chimpanzee’s react to this environmental stress and how there are many commonalities.  Most striking is how older chimps who have weathered such draughts in the past differ from the younger members of the group.  Most react with intermittent bouts of outright panic expending much needed energy.  Aggression and outbursts of screeching from tree tops and flinging feces are common.  There is now evidence of ritual behavior such as stacking rocks and marking tress which increases during times of stress.  Older chimps however adopt a much different approach.  The past experiences of similar draughts give an advantage knowing that with time this environmental stress will subside and nourishing times will return.

Some advice from an old chimp.  Stop flinging feces at others it’s just nasty.  The constant screeching is not necessary and no one is really listening.  Pay no attention to the chimps with dousing rods predicting next day price explosions as it only leads to disappointment. Take comfort and appreciate the wise members of the group that are providing much needed advice and research.  Find some shade under a bush and take a nap. It will rain soon enough.

DucPeter got a reaction from Ender in Do YOU believe YOU will ACTUALLY make $1 million capital gains with XRP?
Strange question. Everyone here owns a totally different volume of XRP. Hence some people will reach the $ 1 mln profit mark quite soon, while others will never reach it with the same development of XRP's price.
A bit like asking 'How much XRP do you own?'.

By the time we reach our goals, you'll probably be able to transfer your XRPs directly to your local bank and have them converted into fiat money.

I'll have to correct myself: today we were dragged down again by BTC. It's getting more and more annoying that the market can't / won't see the difference.

Is the cryptomarket showing a preference for utility? I provide my take on it - and on all the latest XRP news - in today's blog!

𝐑𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬: At TechCrunch Shenzhen, Emi Yoshikawa emphasizes Ripple's leadership in engaging with regulators; BBVA and Santander, both Ripple customers, join the International Association for Blockchain Applications; and Navin Gupta compares Ripple technology to WhatsApp at the BlockOn conference in Bahrain.
𝐗𝐑𝐏 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬: @sleone_76 (Twitter avatar) offers customized XRP Tip Bot paper gift wallets; WietseWind's XRParrot application posts impressive numbers fresh out of the gate; a Thai exchange - Bitkub - supports XRP; a new, UK-based P2P crypto platform decides to support XRP; @stedas (Twitter avatar) decides to make his graphics available to the general public;  and an XRP Community member creates a method for determining baseline XRP liquidity - and has some positive conclusions based on his model.

Lest be clear. NOBODY will care about your crypto investment and NOBODY will want to talk to you about it until you make money.
Look at it this way, talk to the hot girl in the bar about XRP now and you're the sad geek she avoided the rest of the night. Talk to the hot girl in the bar about XRP in five years time and you're the successful, self made guy who pulled up in a Bentley.
