DucPeter reacted to automatic in What % of XRP Will You Cash Out at $50?
$100 seems hard to imagine until one realizes that price action is always exponential and never linear.  The reason for this resides in the fact that trading is based on percentages rather than fixed price offsets.  For example, a tight stop of 2c at 30c would have to be set to 20c at $3, $2 at $30, $20 at $300 and so on.
A good way to frame $100 is thus to think of it as a number of price doubles given the current starting point.  I'd venture a guess that most here have zero doubt that xrp will be worth at least $1.20 at some point in the near future.  To get to that price, xrp would have to double in price twice.   The exact same price action starting at $1.20 would get us to $4.80;  repeated again gives us $19.20;  again $76.80;  again $307.20.
If $2.40 is your number (also easy to imagine), then next stops in the equal effort sequence would be $19.2 and $153.6.
$100 may be far, but it's not quite as far as it may seem on the surface.

If XRP manages to reach $ 50, then why wouldn't $ 100 be possible from there? So I'll probably stay in.

And that is exactly what everyone has to keep in mind!
Amazon's share price reached a level of about 95-100€ at the end of 1999, at the height of the DotCom bubble. At that time Amazon had a turnover of around USD 1.7 billion and made a loss of USD 390 million. When the bubble burst, the stock price fell to below 10€ per share (around 9/11).
Although Amazon was afaik profitable since 2002 and the turnover increased annually it took about 10 years (!!!) until the share price reached the 100€ mark of 1999 again. 10 years!!!, with a turnover of 24.5 billion USD in 2009. The rest is history and the Amazon rocket is still flying.
What I'm trying to say is: Please don't expect any miracles in 2019, don't expect 10USD/XRP at the end of the year or any nonsense. Expects "CryptoWinter" to continue for a while and we may see 0.15 USD/XRP or less on 31.12.2019.
Amazon and Rome were not built in one day. Patience is everything.

Ok, I leave it then. As will the majority of the members on this forum.
As far as I’m concerned @Hodor has earned a special place on this forum and for all I care he can post as he pleases and earn as much money as he wants ( not stating that he does, but just saying how I, and many with me, feel).
And no, not everybody can do the same, sh*t - and FUD posters can take a hike.
So yes, even if it would be a case of positive discrimination, and I’m fine with it.

So far I've been disappointed on a number of occasions when developments were expected to push XRP's price..., and they didn't. This will be just another one. I think we're in here for the (very) long run.

    Come to think of it:
This is a clear case of “ contrarian view profiling”  imo.
    1. Post an absolute nonsense FUD article without additional comments
    2. Wait for the anti FUD reactions
    3. Call them out for disliking “ contrarian views”
    4. Play the victim of so called “ hypers”

    Nope
It is in the first place for facts. Of course many here just come with only the positive facts, avoiding the negative. But negative facts are allowed. The only nobody wants here is FUD neither cheerleading.
The link you came up with was based on nonsens and FUD. Ripple never did overestimate the deals and usage of Ripplenet by Santander. If you do not agree with this as a fact than come with real proof and not with an article with idiotic mentions of tweets and false statements.

DucPeter reacted to KarmaCoverage in Is XRP approaching the "knee of an exponential curve"?
Oh yeah, to me it seems quite obvious that XRP is better/faster/cheaper/in production and awaiting regulatory approval.
ETH has already chipped away at BTC as, literally the only way to get into crypto. Many people buy XRP and others straight from fiat now.
So I actually already see BTC slipping. It is more popular though, and as these institutional companies open the market up to more dumb money... I still think BTC could hit another all time high.
Being a simple unit of account, I just dont see BTC as being worth much after the markets mature and it loses center stage. XRPLedger is so much more powerful of an accounting tool, you really cant compare the two.
Full disclosure,  I never have and never will own BTC. If it hits another ATH, I plan to short it, or buy puts if I can find some.

Hello and A Happy XRP New Year to all members.
I'm a newbie from the Newcastle  Upon Tyne UK. It wasn't until the 1st Nov 18 that I purchased my first XRP....and have been topping up since (along with ADA, TRX, XLM & CVC).  After my initial interest in Bitcoin when it was about £500 in 2017,  I left things alone especially after it hit 14k and my interest had all but died. I can't remember how I first came to know about Ripple & XRP but my interest in crypto was rekindled. Since that time I can't get enough of Brad G and the one and only XRP.  Bitcoin is a distant past memory for me,  with the adoption by the banks, the decline of the $  and the growing XRP community,  XRP could be huge . Whether it's this year or in the next few years XRP will be number 1.

Depends on how you look at it. The whole crypto market is bearish, but over the last few weeks XRP has been performing significantly better than its two closest competitors (BTC and ETH).
