  1. @Khaleesi I may be a little slow, but every time I’ve looked at the picture, I’ve wondered what the H1 in “Available H1 2018” meant. Does that mean first half of 2018? Or did they mean Q1 2018? I guess time will tell.
  2. For me and many of the people I personally know, it is. I don’t even know what curl is lol. I’m just saying, people value things differently based on knowledge, interests, time, etc, and for some a service like this might be worth it.
  3. I personally have liked the idea of escrow since it’s inception and have wanted to try it, but know nothing about coding or programming. So for me, I like the idea of this service and would be willing to pay a small fee for it, if it works properly. I can only imagine how much time and effort goes into all this, and that certaintly is not free. I can see why people hesitate with new projects, because nobody wants to have their investments compromised, but people can be cautious and open minded at the same same. Anyone can try this service with a tiny amount of XRP, which is what I plan on doin
  4. I follow SecureBlockChains on Twitter and they’re working on some different XRP projects, but in this video they talk about creating a personal Ripple node/wallet using a Raspberry Pi. Although I’m not good with the tech part, I thought this was a really cool idea, so I wanted to share it. If they can pull it off, it might be a project worth folllowing. https://www.secureblockchains.com/
  5. No, I’m not arguing that at all. All I’m doing is looking at the articles and pointing out what IBM is saying. This is probably an initial and temporary use until central banks issue their own digital currencies.
  6. Maybe IBM wants more control and since Stellar is small it gives them this, but in the end it is just one client. Also, from the Fortune and IBM articles, it sounds like the use of Stellar is to provide initial liquidity and then they’ll move to other digital currencies. “According to Lund, though, the banks use of Stellar’s digital currency is likely to be temporary. He predicts that, in the next year, central banks will begin issuing digital currencies of their own, and that these will become an integral part of blockchain-based money transfers.” http://fortune.com/2017/10/16/ibm-
  7. Ripple has 61 banks in Japan, which account for 80% of the value of the banking system, they have a growing network, they are opening up offices and expanding around the world, they worked with the Bank of England, they world with the Federal Reserve faster payments task force, they have Chris Larsen advising the IMF and HSBC, they announced the first commercial usage of XRP, one of the new clients they signed handles the payments for Uber and GoDaddy, they’re putting 55 billion XRP in escrow, they started a 300 million dollar incentive program, they have 15 billion dollars worth of XRP they c
  8. Do you have a link to where Ripple said this? I haven’t been able to find any information on it. Anything’s possible, but I don’t understand why they would to that. I don’t know why they’d say to tune in live and follow along with the agenda on the SWELL website. https://swell.ripple.com/
  9. I’m going with a trio of announcements. The first is a partnership with Airbnb, because the Global Director of Payments Programs and Partnerships will be at SWELL. Then a partnership with the UAE Exchange, because the COO will be at SWELL and they’d previously been rumored to be in talks with Ripple. Finally, an announcement of who’s involved in the Chinese joint venture that Ripple is hiring for. https://swell.ripple.com/agenda/ https://ripple.com/company/careers/all-jobs/ https://www.econotimes.com/UAE-Exchange-seeks-blockchain-deal-with-Ripple--Report-874169
  10. It would make a lot of sense for China, Russia and other countries to adopt an independent, universal digital bridge asset like XRP. It would reduce or eliminate their dependence on the USD and SWIFT. We know the economic impact Ripple and XRP could have, but it’s interesting to think about the political impact they could have. Ripple and XRP could potentially help reduce tensions in parts of the world by allowing countries to more freely perform commerce with each other.
  11. I saw this one day at Target and thought, it says Ripple, so it must be good. I tried the chocolate flavor, but it had a strange taste and texture to me. It’s interesting to know that it’s partially google backed, I didn’t know that.
  12. It's hypothetical, but it's based on where they think the industry is headed. They seem to really believe Ripple, ILP and XRP will form the foundation of the new global financial system.
  13. Here's a link to the presentation. https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/15381/262389?utm_source=Dimension+Data&utm_medium=brighttalk&utm_campaign=262389
