Oh Ok. So long as the bank is willing to process outgoing payments, they don't care about the value of xrp. You might care, but payment processors don't. So long as their payments goes through. And cost are low and speedy. Period.
You're assuming banks care about xrp price. They don't.

As a trader, WHENEVER YOU BOUGHT, some one is Selling to you. It could be a bot's sell order. Grow up with trading. 1) you should've figured out xrp was not a trading vehicle. As such, xrp should be viewed as an investment. This you will be ok, even with price drops.
Now if you bought into the hype, that's your fault for following your emotions. NOBODY TWISTED YOUR ARM. You did it yourself.

Someone on Youtube stated this exact situation.  So I drew up a "what if" scenario..
Let's dig into this a bit...   "re: The problem is that the same token will be for sale after 4 seconds "

ODL payment is initiated on exchange A. Market maker sells XRP  to ODL. The XRP received is attached to payment message and sent to recipient exchange B.  That amount of XRP has left exchange A.
How is market maker on exchange A going to get back his XRP from exchange B, so that he can recycle it?
    1) Is he going to ask exchange B to simply send it back to him? This ain't monopoly money we're dealing with.
    2) Exchange B also have market makers. Are they going to just "send back the XRP"? This ain't monopoly money we're dealing with.
Exchange B market maker, might ask for a higher xrp price sell back to Exchange A market maker. But then this wipes out Exchange A market makers tiny tiny profit off ODL transaction!!
Both sides, market maker are "in it for profits".  This isn't charity here.  How is this XRP going to get recycled?
    What do you think?

Back to original post of ODL and XRP Price.   Bitso is targeting 20% of total Mexican remittance of $33B by year end.
20% works out to $6.6B per year, $550 mil per mth, $18 mil per day of ODL payments flowing through Bitso. To handle $18 mil USD ODL payment, requires 65 million XRP at today's price 28 cents. Market makers collectively will need in inventory 65 million XRPs to process just one day's worth ODL payments. Just one day's worth. Better to have more on hand.
What if ODL corridors expands to 10 to 20 in 1-2 yrs time. To accommodate this many ODL corridors, enmass it will require market makers to inventory 650 million to 1.2 billion XRPs.  Assuming price is stable at 28 cents. Someone double check my math. Meanwhile ODL continues to grow.
Not that this matters, CMC XRP daily volume is approx $1.8B. One third of CMC XRP volume will come from (future) ODL.  btw: CMC's $1.8B is overstated. A lot of volume is wash trades.
Do I  think xrp will remain flat-line at 28 cents, while 650 million to 1.2B is being accumulated? No.
Some wise guy will say Ripple will provide it. To which, I ask what if Ripple doesn't? there's 43 billion in circulation. Market makers are big boys, they can figure this out without daddy holding their hands. Ripple will not mind seeing the price of xrp advance. The higher the xrp price, larger size payments can flow through ODL. This in turn allows ODL to accommodate "big banks" and large institutions. ODL will grow even more "big banks" and large institutions jumping on.  Round and round we go.

You're jumping the gun. Getting way ahead of yourself. No one, no bank in their right mind will transfer $200 billion on a fairly new platform. If you were the payments manager, why would you do that and risk getting fired, if something went wrong.?

A 4th scenario.. going back to first payment initiated. After the payment (trade goes off). last trade price $0.276. ODL bought XRP, a market maker sold to ODL at $0.276;  ODL payment offset, on receiving exchange sold XRP @$0.275, ODL sold, a market maker bought at $0.275, last trade price.
Now it gets interesting... what if market maker that sold to ODL @$0.276 wants to re-balance his position. He'll need to buy back xrp from somewhere. If he sees receiving exchange has bid $0.275 / ask $0.276; He can buy at the ask $0.276, get fill and re-balance his position, right. Yes he made no money on this singular trade, cause he sold XRP @$0.276 & bought it back at $0.276. Look at what happened, he effectively lifted the price up and xrp is $0.276 on both exchanges!  In doing so, the value of his XRP inventory has increased, basis last trade price of $0.276. Recall at the start of this exercise, last trade price $0.275

I'm reviewing our conversation. I think the wording "no net increased demand" is incorrect. The word "demand" should be "supply".  It should be read "no net increased supply"
The ODL transactions "needs" xrp, this is demand.

We have a conflict of what's common knowledge.
Show me. explain how it works in detail.
How is ODL designed? explain that in detail.
When you cannot explain it, it can mean you don't really know it well enough.

You sort of answered your own concerns... "50 billion XRP that are not yet in circulation at all"
Point 1: If it's not yet in circulation, it cannot be traded nor counted.
Point 2: What we are measuring is being traded on any given day. What do I mean? CMC shows 43 billion circulation, $1.9 b traded today. The other 41 billion didn't see the light of day did it?
To illustrate my point about circulating supply vs trading volume. Think back to Dec 2017 and Jan 2018.. the circulating hasn't change much from today's circulating supply. Yet the trading volume was sufficient to drive prices to $3.60. How did that happen?

Ok what if ODL gets to 90% of CMC daily XRP volume? will that be enough? probably right. So we guess a high end number that shows impact.  My point for posting this, is now we have something to measure against.

One very simple way to monitor ODL flow is, measure ODL - total across all corridors, against XRP daily volume (use CMC for now).
Divide the two, you'll get percentage. Example: way out into the future, ODL = $150 million basis USD (divide by) $1.7B XRP daily volume (CMC). This ratio is about 8.6% ; When ODL gets to 10% or more of XRP daily volume ODL will begin to exert upward pressure on price.
Currently total ODL is approx $3.7 million, this works out to 0.2% of total xrp daily volume. You can see why ODL has not moved prices.
It's happening... we got a ways to go. But we will get there.
