  1. That's fine. Of course they don't have to be "his" XRP. If exchange A market marker sold 100k XRP how can he get it back, say within the hour? Because he wishes to recycle them. He doesn't care if the XRP are not "his". He just wants 100k XRP back in his account. How is that accomplished?
  2. Thank you. btw: All other buying and selling reasons aside. ODL has to get about 1.5% of CMC. Why? because under current agreement Jed is allowed to sell 1.5% of total daily XRP volume. So you see the demand from ODL has to be greater than Jed's potential daily sales. ODL Mexico corridor reached new highs today. Yet again.
  3. I was addressing the often question of, if xrp is so fast (5-10 secs), it gets recycled. Why the need for massive amounts of xrp. So I submitted the question, "How is market maker on exchange A going to get back his XRP from exchange B, so that he can recycle it?" Specifically, how does market maker on exchange A gets his XRP back to recycle? I'm looking for specific answers to questions. Broad generalize answers are missing relevant details.
  4. I was breaking down ODL process into steps. My point was to illustrate how ODL can impact price upward. Too often we talk too high level, like ODL sends payments in 10 seconds. Then ask the question, if it goes that fast, how will price rise? We are then mislead to the conclusion if payments go in 10 second, therefore price did not have a chance to rise. This conclusion is incorrect.
  5. I read the required specs.. what sort of internet bandwidth do I need? 50 mbps up/down sufficient?
  6. As a trader, WHENEVER YOU BOUGHT, some one is Selling to you. It could be a bot's sell order. Grow up with trading. 1) you should've figured out xrp was not a trading vehicle. As such, xrp should be viewed as an investment. This you will be ok, even with price drops. Now if you bought into the hype, that's your fault for following your emotions. NOBODY TWISTED YOUR ARM. You did it yourself.
  7. Psst.. the "massive losses Support Group" is down the hall. Hurry over , they just got started.
  8. Looks like you dropped in to unload some fud on us. This we don't not appreciate. Now your trying to play "boo-ho I have massive losses" "Is this how you all talk to people wich have massive losses in an investment not bought at a good time?" - You expect me to take you for real.
  9. So what you're saying is you're upset with massive losses, not bought at a good time? Who are you blaming for your actions? no one twisted your arm to buy did they?
  10. Here's a bucket, starting bailing water out.. faster..faster..faster. TO THE LIFEBOATS..
  11. and Ripple just got $20 oh I mean $200 million Series funding. VCs must've done poor job researching Ripple. Erh.. NOT I'm betting with the smart money. haha Scout
  12. Disagree. ODL in your face buddy.
  13. Don't wait, sell all your xrp. Be done with it. go to some bitcoin chat forum. Make that your new home. I will never follow you to sell. Never.
  14. This might put things in perspective. Using CMC xrp total daily volume is $2.4 billion. We won't need 6-7 billion utility volume per day. Keep in mind, CMC is also over-reporting daily volume. Because a certain percentage is wash trade volume. How high is wash trade volume, I don't know. Personally I'm watching ODL to reach $150 million per day.
  15. Someone on Youtube stated this exact situation. So I drew up a "what if" scenario.. Let's dig into this a bit... "re: The problem is that the same token will be for sale after 4 seconds " ODL payment is initiated on exchange A. Market maker sells XRP to ODL. The XRP received is attached to payment message and sent to recipient exchange B. That amount of XRP has left exchange A. How is market maker on exchange A going to get back his XRP from exchange B, so that he can recycle it? 1) Is he going to ask exchange B to simply send it back to him? This ain't monopoly money we're dealing with. 2) Exchange B also have market makers. Are they going to just "send back the XRP"? This ain't monopoly money we're dealing with. Exchange B market maker, might ask for a higher xrp price sell back to Exchange A market maker. But then this wipes out Exchange A market makers tiny tiny profit off ODL transaction!! Both sides, market maker are "in it for profits". This isn't charity here. How is this XRP going to get recycled? What do you think?
  16. Well there you go. But add in the "knowledge" (the knowing) lol, exchange A will always have payments being initiated. They will always buy the ask price. They'll just program bot to favor buying the lower price in exchange B. Like I said, the price is at equilibrium and at a higher price. Even if it's 1 tick higher. Overall, a 1 tick higher value x my entire inventory is worth more than selling 1 tick higher on just 1 payment amount.
  17. Only if a single market marker is involve. And single market maker is involved on both exchanges. Provided there is a mechanism to re-balance xrp during the day. Can you give me a scenario of how this can happen? i'd be interested in hearing and learning.
  18. I've taken that into consideration each and every time. The assumption is receiving exchange is Not same as initiating exchange. Hence. we can have price discrepancies to deal with.
  19. This is true. Sometimes I wonder if they work both sides within the same exchange. We might learn more, To the Lifeboats has asked about MM. He may be researching this topic.
  20. Back to original post of ODL and XRP Price. Bitso is targeting 20% of total Mexican remittance of $33B by year end. 20% works out to $6.6B per year, $550 mil per mth, $18 mil per day of ODL payments flowing through Bitso. To handle $18 mil USD ODL payment, requires 65 million XRP at today's price 28 cents. Market makers collectively will need in inventory 65 million XRPs to process just one day's worth ODL payments. Just one day's worth. Better to have more on hand. What if ODL corridors expands to 10 to 20 in 1-2 yrs time. To accommodate this many ODL corridors, enmass it will require market makers to inventory 650 million to 1.2 billion XRPs. Assuming price is stable at 28 cents. Someone double check my math. Meanwhile ODL continues to grow. Not that this matters, CMC XRP daily volume is approx $1.8B. One third of CMC XRP volume will come from (future) ODL. btw: CMC's $1.8B is overstated. A lot of volume is wash trades. Do I think xrp will remain flat-line at 28 cents, while 650 million to 1.2B is being accumulated? No. Some wise guy will say Ripple will provide it. To which, I ask what if Ripple doesn't? there's 43 billion in circulation. Market makers are big boys, they can figure this out without daddy holding their hands. Ripple will not mind seeing the price of xrp advance. The higher the xrp price, larger size payments can flow through ODL. This in turn allows ODL to accommodate "big banks" and large institutions. ODL will grow even more "big banks" and large institutions jumping on. Round and round we go.
  21. What if the "same" market maker has all 3 assets. USD, MXN & XRP. Does that simplified the re-balancing of assets at end of day? I'll have to think through this scenario. Off-hand, I believe at some point this market maker has to go to forex market to replenish MXN Pesos, using USD.
  22. No. Particularity if market maker is selling into ODL payments. If all he does is sell XRP, eventually he runs out of XRP inventory. Because of this he needs to re-balance. To re-balance he has to find a way to buy back XRP. Ain't nobody going to give'em to you right?
  23. wait ,wait. Oh sure, where's the XRP in EUR/USD? Now if you asked me, how about a XRP/EUR market maker..
  24. I'm a market maker, I make XRP market. I should be holding XRP as inventory. Because if all I'm holding is USD. Where's my inventory to work with? The answer is I need to hold XRP, as a market maker I don't have a choice.
